Chart Stalkers January 2008

Good morning all. Wow, it was busy yesterday!

Kmac, I changed your temps into celsius to understand them better, and your CD2 temp looks very low indeed (in the hypothermic range!!) whilst your CD3 temp looks like a fever temp. Often ppl get a big temp dip when they've got a cold coming on - when they feel shivery, get a sore throat, etc - so it looks to me like both of those are anomalous. If you mark the high temp as 'fever', FF will automatically make it an open circle and will discard it from the calculations, whilst still showing it. Likewise, if you didn't get more than 3 hours' solid sleep before temping, you should mark it 'sleep deprived' and it shows as an open circle. As it's your first cycle temping, you ought to do that really, otherwise FF may have trouble detecting ov, especially if you ov early.

Bagpuss - come on that egg! I'll check back later to see what the temps have done today - FX they've shot up and you can have a rest from BDing!

Were there any other charts requiring stalking?!

If not, hope everyone's well and enjoying the weekend!

I spotted again yesterday, fairly sure AF will start properly today - at least, I hope so! FX that next cycle is 'normal'!

Afternoon all and happy weekend to you :cheer:

Kitty - how do you change to Celsius? I look at peoples chart that are in Farenheit and it seems alien to me as not what I'm used to, it would make a lot more sense to me if I knew how to change it to C.

Well I was very naughty this morning and did an ebay cheapy with FMU as boobs and nipples still sore. If I hold it under a really bright light at a certain angle there is a definite line     I'm assuming evap line though as it is so faint and colourless. Testing early  why do we do it? I promise not to test tomorrow   OK I bet I do :rotfl:

Oh CB23 bless you - there is not one of us on here that hasnt done exactly that with a test - I am the worlds worst for getting them out of the plastic, running from window to window and shooving them under lights at different angles - the reality is most people dont get their BFP until AF is due and when you do get a BFP there is really no doubting it.... :D Having said all that you would not believe how many tests I have peed on this month as we have been told we shouldnt get pregnant!!! I've started driving an extra 5 miles to Sainsbury's as their tests say they are good from 4 days before same as First Response!!

Kitty hope AF starts for you soon and then you can move on...

Not worth stalking my chart - I'm not convinced I have ovulated - think my temps are all out due to stress and christmas but I hope everyone elses is doing what it should. :D

Good afternoon ladies , hope you're all well

Well....after keeping my FX for month and month for positive OPK's I got ANOTHER one last night!!! I'm usually lucky if I get one so having two really strong +'s in one month is unknown for me. I made the most of it though and made DH service me....just in case! I'm hoping that I caught the start and end of the surge which is why I got two. My temp has gone up by 0.4 today so I think I can safely say I've OV'd this month. I'm going to do another OPK later just to make sure. I hope it's not another +!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I picked up our fertility tests from the post office this morning. DH has got to wait at least 3 days before he can use his and then another 5 days to do the 2nd test so I've told him he can wait until AF arrives before he does his because I'm not going without any BD for nearly two weeks!!

The female one is a POAS that test for FSH (Follicle stimulating hormone) apparently consistantly elevated levels of it can be a sign of infertility. There's two tests that you had to do at least a week apart and if both are positive then you should see your doc. I did my first one within 2 minutes of being back in the house and it was well and truly negative.. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: not even an evap line so I'm well chuffed. Just hope the 2nd one is the same

Anyway, hope you're all having a lovely weekend

Hi Kitty
Thanks for that - I have added that info to my chart. I hadn't noticed the tick boxes for those details, I had just put it in the notes bit.
Anyway, I hope it starts to even out a bit. Starting to feel a bit better today, aand my temp has come down a bit. Off out to look at TVs and sofas in the sales!

Hope everyone is OK, good luck with testing BDing etc!!

Hi All,

Nothing to report really. Am on CD 24 but not even a criss cross on my ferning microscope to ponder over today... Really want to ovulate soon  Started temping again and the first few days temps were really low for me. Today it was at normal pre-O levels.

We are trying to bed every 2 to 3 days so that there is no repeat of last month where I missed my opportunity from lack of BDing. Also hoping that DH's spermies are higher in number now too. A BFP soon would be really good! Ideally don't want to be 9 months pregnant in December when we go back to Australia, nor do I want to completely miss my maternity leave here. A BFP this or next month would have me see out the year on maternity leave. Nice.

Viewing charts in celsius/fahrenheit:

If you click on somebody's link, it'll bring up their homepage. Depending on how they've set it up, the first chart will be the cycle overlay. The next will be the current month. Under the current month chart, there are four pink-bordered text boxes - the first of these is 'view in fahrenheit' if the chart is in celsius, and 'view in celsius' if it's fahrenheit.

If you're looking through the chart gallery, there are several pink-bordered text boxes under each chart. The middle line of boxes has the 'view in fahrenheit/celsius' options.

Finally, if you want to see your own charts using a different scale, you cannot do so with any of the options on the 'your chart' page. However, you can do so if you're viewing your own homepage. This is a bit of a faff to get to - either (from your chart page) point at the 'sharing' option from the menu, then click on 'homepage set-up', then click 'preview', or (far simpler!) log on here, and click on the link at the bottom of your own post! Obviously, you can save the link in your favourites folder on your pc, which will make it much faster in the future. Once you're on your own homepage, follow the instructions for homepage viewing at the beginning of the post.

Interestingly, the charts look very different if you view them in fahrenheit/celsius. One degree celsius is equivalent to approx 1.8 fahrenheit. So celsius charts tend to look much more vertically challenged than fahrenheit ones, which can have scary-looking peaks and troughs. If you have quite a flat-looking celsius chart, it can be worth viewing it in fahrenheit as sometimes the pattern becomes more obvious - and likewise, dips and rises look more in proportion if you convert to celsius. An implantation dip will look much more noticeable on a fahrenheit chart.

Chrissy, that sounds like good news for you - at least you know your timing was spot-on! Where did you get your fertility tests from, and what's the brand? I've seen Fertell ones in Boots - are they the same? Does the FSH test tell you when in your cycle you have to do it? Only FSH is strong just before LH, so if you did your tests on, say, CD 7 and 14 (if you had a 28-day cycle) I would have thought it possible you could get two positive tests - and even more likely if you had a longer cycle. As far as I'm aware, it's if you have elevated FSH after ovulation that there might be cause for concern  Anyway, you'll be getting your 2nd test in well after ov, so you'll be fine!

CB23 - :shakehead: :rotfl: Well, I hope it is a BFP - but I will repeat that my doctor told me that he doesn't consider those tests to be reliable, EITHER way - they had many false positives and many false negatives when they used them in the clinic. So don't try too hard to see a line on one of them, but wait (sorry! ) another few days and try a FRER or ClearBlue.

By the way - check the small print on those 4 day before tests. If you look at the ClearBlue 4 days early tests, they claim only 57% detection 4 days previously, whereas FRER claims sth like 80% 4 days early. The Sainsbury's ones are (I think) similar to ClearBlue.

Kitty - I got my tests from Accesdiagnostics.com I've had some pg tests from them before and they deliver them really quickly so I thought I would give them a try. It was £23 for a male sperm test and two FSH test strips. They really have a make on them, they look a bit like something you would get on prescription.

I thought that too about testing just before OV because surely FSH would be at it's highest at that time, it should be stilmulating my follicals like crazy that week... :rotfl: It says on the pack that you can do them at any time in your cycle but I think if I hadn't just OV'd myself I would have waited until I had to do the test anyway.

Told DH that it was good news becasue it was negative and he's said that's it's not good news because it's put more pressure on him to have good spermies now....... :rotfl: :rotfl:

I just had a look. I've used AccessDiagnostics before - when I mentioned the site to my GP the other day (as you can see, we had a jolly good chinwag - must have used up 3 appointments, I'm surprised he didn't offer me tea and biscuits!), he said it's a very reputable one and the clinic has ordered stuff from there. He just said to avoid the cheapest HPT strips!

Anyway, it doesn't seem to be very different from the Fertell one at Boots - which costs £60. Flippin' cheek! Hm, for £23, I might get one too. Think I'd better check with DH first though, don't want to put any pressure on him! :rotfl:

Hi all

So many of you are waiting to Ov, hurry up you eggs :)

Kitty, I hope you cycle comes to an end soon or Ovs or something happens  It must be very frustrating!

CB, looking good - also I overlay'd my last chart on yours and they look spookily similar, oh except you have the temperatures of someone who is in the land of the living and mine are much lower  Seriously though the pattern is very similar

Also I can't remember whether I posted this but I phoned up for my thyroid results and apparently they are satisfactory! I am going to get the actual numeric values when I go for my appointment on Monday as I still want to check them out in case I am borderline hypothyroid.

I've heard very good things about accessdiagnostics too. Can't wait to hear whether the home tests were any good Chrissy. They sound really interesting :D

I may have to go mooch around access diagnostics! I don't think I'll get OH to do a sperm test, I think he'd refuse on the grounds they must be OK as I got pregnant once already. Although I did ask him this month if he'd got them head torches and compasses as they couldn't find the egg last month

Kitty thanks for that re temps - I never noticed those boxes before

Chrissy :rotfl: :rotfl: at your OH and the pressure on him :rotfl: but great news about your test being -ve.

Sookie  you ov soon - sounding good re the temps but I don't know anything about how the ferning works, sorry :(

KMAC have fun in the sales - that sounds like serious shopping :D

Mildly I just overlayed after reading your post - very similar but stop getting my hopes up :rotfl: :rotfl: you'll have me poas again.

I have purchased CBD (£12.99 for two at Lloyds, a bargain!). It says 51% reliable at -4 days (which is tomorrow for me) so will leave it a few days as that seems quite low to me.

Good luck CB, your chart does look very positive. Let us know the outcome of your Digi test asap!

Chrissy - Really might have to invest in some of those tests, though I admit Im a bit scared to find out if we have a problem! Think we shall just wait and see if we get pregnant before 12 months is up. Hopefully we will be more healthy by then (OH is overweight and used to drink way too much) so we are going ultra healthy starting next Monday. Fab news that yours was negative though, and fingers crossed that your OH is ok too :)

Kitty and everyone else  and good luck :)

Ive been feeling pretty down today. AF still here of course but been really heavy this month (sorry, TMI) just doesnt seem to be letting up! I just cant wait to get back to BDing you see! hehe, OH and I have promised to each other that we will do our best to BD every other day this month, as I thought I ovulated 2 days late this month, but apparently not as AF arrived exactly on time (I thought it would be late). I wasnt charting properly so cant look at my temps for last month and I seemed to have positive OPKs for about a week, the reason I thought I had ovulated late was because of EWCM and I think I feel ovulation twinges every month. Perhaps I have been wrong and the twinges come after. This makes me so angry with myself that I have wasted so many months thinking I was doing the right thing when I wasnt. Thankfully Im temping properly now so this month should be more clear. Anyway to make sure that we cover all bases we are going to BD every other day after AF and after I think Ive ovulated too. Sorry for that long rant!

Hi guys,

I am back to my old chart stalkers addicted self. Can't stop checking in every few minutes to see if something has happened.... There are loads of things I could be doing but instead I am procrastinating.

I have nothing to report. I have 8 OPKs left should. Should I start testing today?

Well I am a POAS addict and couldn't wait. Unfortunately only a very faint line. I guess that's ok though, will keep testing and hope I Ov in the next few days!

Hope you're all well. CB23, hope you can hold off from POAS for a bit longer! Good luck. FX for you

Meant to say hi to Trudy the other day but forgot. Hi  Glad you liked my photos :) DH has been uploading photos all day and slowing down the internet connection  but I should be grateful that he does it. Will post a link later.

 to everyone else. Come on January BFPs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FXed the line darkens tomorrow, although I hope your DH finishes uploading your holiday pictures before you jump on him ;)

From the look of your chart I think it is a good possibility that you will Ov in the next 8 days so i would say that you were right to start POASing today :cheer:

Thank Mildly. I am getting extremely bored waiting for O. Feeling a bit sorry for myself with these long cycles. Since coming off BCP in May they have been 42 days, 43, 39, 45 and 39 days respectively. But what can ya do???
:(

Morning everyone

Well I think I may be at the end of this horrid cold virus thing - had a decent nights sleep last night for the first time in a week :D

OK will you look at my chart please - to begin with I didnt think that I had actually ovulated when FF said but now I am beginning to wonder....... This I hope is good news as I should get AF within the next couple of days if thats the case......

CB23 I hope your line is stronger this morning

Sookie cant wait to see your pictures - gosh what I would do for a holiday right at this minute.

Loola hope AF is on the wane for you and that you have good news on your promotion tomorrow.

Chrissy and Babydust hope that you both got bedding last night and this morning..... Great when Ov occurs on a weekend.... :D

Kitty any news?

Hello to everyone else - there are so many of us now if I've missed anyone I'm sorry x x x x

Off now to take down the christmas tree and generally get my house back in order :D

Morning ladies.

ROM - looking at your chart I would say that the day FF says you OV'd or even a couple of days before are strong possiblities for OV so FX your AF comes soon and you can start to get back on track. I took my xmas tree down yesterday and the house just looks so bare now.

Well, FF has put in my OV line as Thursday......I'm not so sure! I think it might have been Friday. Although my temp was higer on Friday than on Thrursday it was only fractionally higher and then Saturday morning it had shot up more than 0.2 degree so even though I have OV'd late this month I'm going to work on Friday as being my OV date.

Hope everyone is well

Hi all,

ROM - looking at your chart I am sorry to say that I just don't know. You seem to have temperatures overall that don't differ that much between pre and post Ov, so I am unsure if it is following a previous pattern from september or if you are still waiting to O!

As Chrissie says though it could be CD24 does look like a strong possibility. Especially with the CM and CP also being fertile. So actually, yes I agree with FF.

Chrissy - those couple of days here and there questions are annoying. I agree that it could be either.

Well I seem to have gotten some ferning on the microscope today! I think that it might also have shown that 2 days ago but am not so sure. So will enter it in ff as first partial today. It tells me I'm fertile so will go pounce on DH this morning as we were both too lazy last night :)
