Nanc and Catty you must be soooo fed up, I'm trying to keep myself occupied but its not easy. I don't feel like its real anymore if that makes sense? Here's hoping the sweeps work. I have mine tomorrow, a bit nervous. I'm glad I'm getting one on my due date but I'm thinking she'll tell me that my cervix is away at the back and is closed, or as Rayoflight put it - is your fanny ripe yet

Afternoon, had a sweep this morning from my community midwife and it was so much better. She said that although the consultant was brutal yesterday with me she's started things moving. She reckons my bishop score yesterday was maybe a 2 but today she thinks a 6. She says I should go on my own and managed to sweep around babies head and she said he doesn't feel like he's got a big head (pure relief I tell ya) so fingers crossed that this one tips me over the edge!

Emma glad you slept well, have you tried tablets for your headache?

Hope things start soon for all you that are overdue.
Yeah took paracetomol but it didn't work. I'm sitting waiting to see midwife so I will mention to her cos before I came out it became really quite sore. Probably my lack of sleep over the last few days though. I feel really thirsty a lot too so maybe need to drink more also xx

That sounds so much more positive hun! You could go tonight!!!!! Can you explain the bishops score to me please (or if you can't be bothered I'll google Good to hear he doesn't have a big head haha. I have had no indications how big baby will be at all

Pinky, I think I'm so fed up because, like you I've had pains for so long, so not only do I get my hopes up but also the discomfort makes me miserable.

Think I'm going to amend my birth plan to include possible induction.

Lost my plug today... That's the most exciting thing that's happened...not sure if it means anything.

Just had my sweep. I wasn't totally unfavourable but she doesn't hold out much hope. Something about 1cm open but hard, high and 2cm long whatever that means.

My induction is booked for a week today and I don't get anymore a
sweeps so I'm guesssing it will be an inducted baby. I'm gutted, not only do I feel like I will be missing out on something but it also means my mum will probably be here when I get home from the hospital which was the one thing I really didn't want.

Awww Catty I've heard things can change quickly so you never know! What was the sweep like? Do you get on with your mum?

Nanc - losing your plug sounds promising, everytime I go to the toilet I'm checking and nothing.

Thanks pinky. Yeah went fine, pretty routine really apart from me getting blood taken which I was surprised about. Just aswel I didn't know cos I panic haha. She's gave me the biggest bruise cos she took it from a stupid place.
I'm due back 2 days before my due date and she said I will be offered a sweep if I want it. Xx

the 2cm long mean how long your cervix is its generally around 2 inches so its getting there and it can change quickly x

Pinkymum - The sweep was fine a bit uncomfortable but I have had worse! I do get on with my mum but she just rubs me up the wrong way and gets me really stressed out. She's one of those people who can't see anything anyone elses way and it just winds me up. I was just hoping all those pesky postnatal hormones would be out of the way before I had to see her but alas.

For some reason I think there is going to be a labour watch tonight from one of Pinkymum, PP and Nanc. I can just feel it in my (fully intact) waters.

I reckon I should do another thread moaning about the lack of labour watches. The last time I did it about 3 or 4 babies were born over a few days xx

Emma - About the same really. It felt a bit rougher being fingers rather than smooth plastic but no more painful. In a weird way, it was better because it felt a bit more natural. She was getting me to push down on baby so that she could feel his head and doing that kind of took my mind off what she was doing. All in all, I would say absolutely nothing to worry about and nowhere near what I thought it would be like.

Cool I'm getting one in 2 weeks and I'd really rather have baby before my next appointment than have a sweep but will defo have it if not.

Midnight I felt like I had ages until today when mw said my next appointment is when I'm due really so that made it sound so close And I will do a thread right now, wouldn't it be funny if it made me go into labour haha xx
