I googled 'diy sweep' a few days ago but everyone said not to. I don't know how real the possibility of infection is but either way I don't think I could reach that far anyway!

if you actually got to reach it round your bump ect id suggest wearing surgical gloves because you could scratch your cervix if you have nails lol you prob would be able to tell much unless you check your cervix regular so you knew the difference

Pinkymum - The sweep was fine a bit uncomfortable but I have had worse! I do get on with my mum but she just rubs me up the wrong way and gets me really stressed out. She's one of those people who can't see anything anyone elses way and it just winds me up. I was just hoping all those pesky postnatal hormones would be out of the way before I had to see her but alas.

For some reason I think there is going to be a labour watch tonight from one of Pinkymum, PP and Nanc. I can just feel it in my (fully intact) waters.

Catty, i love your thinking mate, but I can see this little girl hanging on till she's forced out. X

This probably explains bishops score more than I could. I have checked my own cervix for a few week now as long as your gentle it will give you a good indication on how favourable it all is 'up there' wouldn't attempt a DIY sweep myself though but no harm in checking where your cervix is.

Nanc, I hope your sweep goes ok tomorrow, fingers crossed it starts for you.

Catty, glad your sweep went ok, I so hope your right about the labour watches tonight! Fingers crossed ( but not legs) how come you don't get anymore sweeps? My midwifes coming back and told me that I can have as many as I like!

Emma, glad your appointment went well, what did they take the blood for?

I'm having some bad, sharp period pains and had a couple of strong BH's but now they've buggered off raaaarrr.

Had a major argument with DH today, think frustration and stress are taking it's toll. Also had a go at the deputy head at DD1 school for not letting her out on time. I'm going to bed out of the way lol!

I know how you feel PP... I am a bit on edge too. I'm finding it hard to stay positive all day when I'm on my own (OH and friends are at work and family miles away) and in too much discomfort to go out anywhere.

On the plus side, my pains have returned with a vengeance tonight inc back pain, I've had the runs today and lost plug... Hoping it all means something but not getting my hopes up.

Pinky... Your DD has come round quick! It's just rude ti have your baby before you're due when the rest of us are still waiting lol, but now you are allowed! You have my blessing

Nothing going on here so I'm guessing the sweep hasn't worked. Weirdly, having posted earlier about baby never going on my left side, he spent about an hour completely on my left side earlier which felt so weird. Doesn't really bode well for him engaging though.

Catty my friend had a sweep about lunchtime, had no signs all day and then her waters broke at 3am so it may happen you just never know!
I'm not getting my hopes about any of it now because I'll just be disappointed!
