***April & May Mummy & Baby***

Awww hun, is horrible when we have grumpy babies for no apparent reason. Have you taken him to the doctor just for a quick check? I remember when my daughter was a couple of months old she turned into a mega grump. I was at the end of my tether for a few weeks so eventually took her to see the gp for a quick once over. Turned out she had an ear infection poor mite, after a course of antibiotics she was back to her happy self again. She ended up suffering recurrent ear infections for many years and the only way I knew was her pure grumpiness. It's always worth a visit and personally I'd ask for a female doctor lol, they just seem to be more sympathetic :)

Also have you tried co sleeping? This may have been asked before and I missed it. I know it's not for everyone, personally I have slept with Scott since the day he was born. His cot is shoved right up to my side of the bed with the dropside down so I can just pull him over for a cuddle anytime he wakes. It's a really good option for grumpy babies and moms who need sleep! Obviously there are guidelines so research before trying it. Of course feel free to ignore me if you have spoken about co sleeping before

Crossing my fingers that you get some sleep hun xxx

Thanks Tambo, he went down at half 9 and woke up and cried for an hour at 1am. Ended up feeding him so he may have been hungry and I missed it, but he hasn't had night feeds for weeks. I was up with him for 90 minutes. He woke himself up pooping at 6 and then had another feed, settled quickly this time and then woke up at 10. I managed to sleep a bit better though, so slightly more human.

I love the idea of co sleeping, but it would be trying to persuade DH not to drink at the weekends, and I am also a very restless sleeper so I don't think I would feel safe doing it. And also a hug from mummy rarely soothes Evan :(

Might see if we can get a check up with the docs tomorrow just to rest my mind xxx

We've done a wall round the village whilst oh cut the grass.

Had a kick about on our mat watching in the night garden whilst I pegged some washing out and put another load in.

Now need something else to do :) amazing what a bit of sleep can do for you!

picking up jumperoo later can't wait!! Will post pics :D

Our jumperoo is still in its box. I'm going to wait a couple more weeks for h to get a little more stronger with his head control yet. However when you hold him up he doesn't half put his weight on his legs. :) his high chair arrives tomorrow and I can't wait for that. I'm going to sit him in it so he gets use to it. It reclines so he should be use to it.

Oh and I are going to take H for a walk. We're going to go to OH's parents.

Got a babe snoozing on me in bed.

Libby loves being stood up.

Here she is earlier having a drink out of her big girl cup :)

Evening Ladies & Babies!

Hope you've all had a good BH weekend?

We went to Highclere Castle in Newbury today (Lord Carnarvon's house - one of the chaps who discovered Tutankhamun's tomb) and its also where they film Downton Abbey.

Had a great day! The weather was fab - we had a nice walk around the house and grounds - and the Egyptian exhibit was ok too (although having seen the real deal, actually having been in Tutankhamun's real tomb, it didn't really compare tbh!)

Had a picnic in the sunshine and Joshie was a really good boy :-)

Shell - no idea about juice, I didn't think they would be allowed that until at least a year old?!? (Too much sugar etc?)

I give my LO between 2 - 4oz of water a day, more if it has been a little warmer than usual xxxx

My mother in law is driving me mad!
OH's parents are staying with us for 10 days. She practically hits me off the pram to push it, always says that Ella's just having a little niggle & is fine with her, but it turns into full blown crying & I have to literally put my hands put & say give her to me!
She always thinks she knows better than me how to do things too!
It's only me & them together during the day too as OH is at work.
Sorry for the rant but I needed to vent!
She's redeemed herself a bit by doing the ironing tonight though lol!
The thing that really riled me tonight was when Ella was crying they were both saying to her "oh Ella, what has your mum been eating to make your stomach so poorly?". Grrr!

Oh Sophie, I feel for you!! Would it be considered rude for you to make a trip out each day - alone or with Ella - for the sake of your sanity...?? At the same time perhaps mention the hoovering needs doing, so your MIL can make herself useful

I do feel for you xxx

I had a break today going to my mother & baby group so that was nice.
Suppose I can't complain too much as she does look after Ella when I go running etc, but doesn't half know which buttons to press to wind me up!
Have sloped off upstairs to feed Ella for a bit of peace & quiet!

I offer Daisy water throughout the day - she seems to like it!

Tapatalking!

Evan has been an angel and went to bed without a fight at 7.45. He started crying at 8.30 but just popped a dummy in and he zonked out again. Definitely going to bed feeling more positive. I think I had to hit rock bottom yesterday so I can move forward. Fx it carries on :)

Got a second hand bumbo for a fiver, can't wait to try it tomorrow.

Going to get my hair cut tomorrow. Last had it done 3 days before Evan was born - it was my sod's law have a hair cut or give birth when he was 10 days over. Memories... :)

And should you be offering water if ebf? I haven't at all. Never know what I should/shouldn't be doing.

I think (don't quote me!) that you don't need to offer any water if EBF...?? I formula feed, so top him up with water each day, just in case :-)

Glad Evan went down well hun! That's great news...I hope tonight is the first of many MUCH easier nights xxx

Amy, you dont really need to but can offer a sip just to.get used. My advice from someone who has done it before is dont offer juice ir squash - i am glad i didnt although tempting in the beginning. Better to get them used to water and better for their teeth.

No you don't need to offer water if ebf I only started to get her used to the taste and her sippy cups, she only has a couple of sips and most goes down her front. Only started last week at 4 months as that's the age on her cup xx

All these pictures of babies on their jumperoo's I can't wait for H to be able to use his.

I ebf and I offer H water but only when I feel he's struggling to poo. He doesn't really like it and only has a few sips before spitting the teat out. I tried giving him some out of a doidy cup too and he didn't like out of their either.
