~*~* September Mummies 2017 - The Final Hurdle! *~*~

I got fitted for a nursing bra by debenhams who said I was either a 36C or a 38D currently but to go for the 38D so there's room. I even need an extender for the back for a 38 now (but cups for a 40 are WAY too big).

I'm gonna have a browse on this website in a bit, thank you!

I was using an extender with a 36D as everything else was too big in the cup or the shoulder straps, my current bras from hotmilk are 36DD and there's lots of room in the main strap. They provide an extender too and I've not had to use it yet, the bra isn't cutting in or leaving marks at all

I ordered two - one in pink that you suggested and one in blue. We shall see! Thanks for the recommendation :)

I'm currently stressing about what I need to put in the hospital bag for me and baby, and it doesn't help that I currently only have one pair of leggings, one pair of printed summer trousers, and like two oversized t shirts that fit me at the moment! I've bought so many maternity clothes only to grow out of them in a few weeks after about 25 weeks :(

I'm also not really sure how much my shape/weight will change immediately after labour? Will I be the same size?

Sorry for all the questions - I have no idea what I'm doing haha >.<

Your shape changes a lot and not very little all at the same time, which makes no sense to you now I know!

Your swelling goes down fairly quickly but you still need loose stuff. Your bump is about half the size, well mine is because I carry such big babies, you look about 24 weeks pregnant in my experience. Do you want me to do a list of my bags?

Ah so I may be able to fit in to some of my maternity clothes I stopped being able to fit in to once hitting the third tri?

That would be really helpful <3

Yes you might be able to :)

My bag contains:
  • Hairbrush
  • 2x face cloths
  • Lansinoh nipple cream
  • Breast pads
  • 10x maxi towels (overnight style cus they're longer)
  • Hair bobbles
  • 2x Soft hairband for fringe
  • Mini shampoo
  • Mini Conditioner
  • Toothbrush
  • Mini toothpaste
  • Baby shower gel (gentler on an injured foof - avoid tea tree!)
  • Nappy bags
  • 10x full briefs (granny knickers)
  • Cheap slippers
  • Extra bra
  • 5x pj sets (extra bottoms where possible and vest tops for easy bfing)
  • Going home outfit - loose trousers and vest top as I'll be hot**
  • 2x button nighties in case of c-section
  • 2x big towels

** Some women get post birth sweats, as you're getting rid of excess water you've been carrying for baby

His bag:
  • 5x vests (newborn)
  • 5x sleep suits (newborn)
  • Going home outfit of vest and light trousers as likely to be hot
  • Jacket
  • Hat
  • Blanket
  • Water wipes
  • 10x nappies

Hope that helps!

Thank you Kumber! It's incredibly similar to a list I made but good to see how many of each thing I need to pack.
Gonna make that my main job this weekend..
Gotta sort through all the baby clothes I've washed. I hope he's not a big baby because I haven't bought much past 3 months... OH said it'll be christmas time then so not to buy much in terms of 3-6 months as he'll get spoiled by the grandparents!

You're unlikely to get to 3-6 months until nearly 3-6 months. Newborn and 0-3 is super roomy and the first 12 weeks is focused on establishing a feeding routine. After 12 weeks or so they begin piling on the pounds very quickly! My boys were 8lb 6 and 8lb 12, and my 8lb 6 is a big lad now. He didn't move into 3-6 until about 10 weeks so they get a fair bit of time in them.

I over pack but I like to know I have extra, especially with pj bottoms and knickers. The amount of blood is shocking, be warned you'll be changing your pad every 2-3 hours!

I forgot to include hat on my list so just put it on

Lol we need to take new born and 0-3 because she might be a big baby ...
I'm.taking dummies to just need to sterilise them. I've probably forgot something lol.
I have this lovely outfit my mil bought for her I might take as coming home outfit... its up to 10lbs (which might fit her perfect ha) dungarees but not denim with a long armed vest to go under... I didn't know if it was suitable? X

I'm not bothering with 0-3, my newborn stuff goes up to 10lb and I know this will be a 9lb baby at least so I want him to get the wear out of them before he gets too big!

I personally wouldn't put dungarees on a brand new squish, their skin is quite sensitive so cotton is best as very gentle on their skin.

I've got a pair of cotton trousers with little feeties, a short sleeve vest and a thin jacket for him, as it'll still be fairly warm when he arrives and they overheat quite easily when they've also got a hat and blanket on. Having said that, we all tend to run at a warmer temperature than other folk. I would maybe ask your hospital what they advise with the time of year.

I don't have any newborn sizes but did buy a few up to 1 month size (about 10lbs) but have way more 0-3 month stuff. Looking at the comparison though the 0-3 months looks huge!

I need to order a few cardis/jackets as I don't have any up to 3 months yet oops!

Starting to feeling a little overwhelmed with how much I have left to do and feeling like I'm all alone in doing it :(

Newborn is the same as up to 1 month :) don't panic lovely, I didn't pack with the bigger boys until the week before labour and the day of induction!

Eep so nervous and excited, but I can't wait for him to be out!
I need my body back, yo

Totally with you there. My flat is a tip and I have no motivation to tidy it. Pain has been awful today which is my excuse but hubby will not be impressed. Anyone else finding the weeks are draaaaaaagging now?

Yes! I'm literally counting down the days. I kinda hope he comes early ...
Been getting period-like aches a lot the last few days, particularly in the evening before bed or when stressed.

Could be BH maybe? Hopefully we have some babies this month, that would be very exciting! Does anyone want to do bump buddies?

I'm having lots of period pain to! And when she decides to stick her legs and arse out the same.time it's so painful ...like I don't stretch like that!!
I'm.hoping they induce me! Cos the consultant wanted to see me sooner because of the last scan. I doubt they will and not getting my hopes up but god I can't do this for another 3+ weeks aha.
What is bump buddies? X

PB I'm with you. I'm actually finding a lot of his movements quite uncomfortable when he stretches, especially when (what I'm assuming is his hands) it's in my pelvis and presses on my cervix/bladder :(

Ohh that stretch is vile, how do they even twist that way?!

Bump buddies is someone you update when in labour so they can update the forum for you without you having to take time out to log in and do all that, and instead relax with baby

Ooo I'll be your bump buddy :)

Ha! Other day my belly had gone diagonal, it was so weird! Painful but I found it funny heh. X
