~*~* September Mummies 2017 - The Final Hurdle! *~*~

Number my son was 75% tongue tie and it wasn't picked up until he was 5 months, because he was gaining they never thought to check. I would feed through tongue tie again if it meant not having to sterilise another bloody bottle !!
Been a long weekend here but I've got my big girl back and we're in for a crazy week she's doing a play in a week and on Friday she'll be performing in Oliver, we're going to see Annie on Thursday and wind in the willows on Saturday. So I need to attempt to take it easy so I can enjoy my girls week with her. Baby now has five baby grows that I've dug out from harpies things and I'll find more during the week: his tiny baby stuff is beyond repair as he wore it to death so if his baby is small my oh will make an emergency trip out. Won't be long till this baby is classed as fully cooked ! Need to get the next tonne crib out and set up ready as if this baby comes at the same gestation as my son I have just over two weeks ! I'm praying to get to 39+1 though intact 1st/2nd September would be perfect. Had the London ride thing this weekend so to enable me to pick Maisie up we had to walk an hour to get to the car so bh have been pretty crappy all day but a warm bath seems to be doing the trick. How's everyone else's weekend been ?

My son was the same, he has moderate to severe tongue tie (they never gave me a percentage though). Between it and reflux it was hard but like you, I was overjoyed not to sterilise another bottle! Hoping this squish takes to bfing too.

Sounds a very busy weekend, you must be shattered. Definitely take it easy now where you can, and enjoy the time before baby comes. It's crazy to think we could have baby announcements in the next fortnight!

Busy weekend here too, we went to the safari park yesterday and it was a complete disaster, car overheated twice whilst driving round! Kids were tired and fed up, and I've been paying for all that driving today.

Nights are also now incredibly painful, my pubic bone is in agony all night and rolling over makes me want to cry. Got a pillow between my legs but I'm wondering do I need to separate my hips more?

Safari park sounds fun but definitely tiring. Kills me to sit in the car now. You did well aha!
Fold the pillow in half between your legs? I might start this to tbh.

Omg. Gray top is start of July and red is today! No wonder I've gotten mega stretch marks aha

Lovely bump pb :)
Loving having my big girl home the house is noisier and messier but I've missed her so much.

Thank you for the experiences on bfing! It's reassuring to hear that it's more convienent etc that formula feeing because I've seen a lot about the opposite. After the birthing & breastfeeding class on the weekend, it's really swayed me towards bfing, or at least planning to do it with the option of formula feeding in the background and ready if necessary.

The midwife who did the class said she would convert one person to home births and one to bfing by the end of the course and she was so confident and enthusiastic that she was able to do just that! (I still want a hospital birth though as I hate people being in my space when I'm uncomfortable and in pain, and think it would stress me out doing it at home.)
She was so young and didn't have any children of her own, but so confident and happy with her job that you didn't care. She was also open to holistic thinking which was nice, and had so much emphasis on doing what the woman in labour wanted as opposed to the stuffy midwives who are set in their ways. If I could have her as my midwife during my labour I would, but she's only home birthing team :(

One fact she did tell me that BLEW MY MIND was that our bodies change the composition of breastmilk to meet the requirements of the baby, by using the baby's saliva as a sort of programming code. So for example if they're sick it's richer in things that they need. THAT IS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE.

If I could send everyone to this birth class I would it was so reassuring and informative.
(I'm not in love with her I promise :P )

Elfs so happy you're enjoying time with your daughter :3 Is she excited to have a baby sibling soon?
PB lovely bump! Really cute!

Kumber I feel you with the pain, although my hips and back hurt more than my pelvis itself. I'm not too sure about much more to separate the hips - how thick/big is the pillow? Could you need a thicker one so there's more distance between your legs?

I find that when I walk I get shooting pains in my pelvis and vagina still. I'm assuming it's still round ligament pain as it stops when I stop but it doesn't make life easy!

4 weeks 5 days until my due date now!

Pb you're so close ! Bf is amazing once you get through the tough bit.
It's so lovely she's six and we've got a lovely week together so I won't feel too guilty when we spend the rest of the holidays sitting in my mums garden. She's told me that she's disappointed it's not twins and five weeks are too long to wait.
Sounds like baby is starting to engage !

Hmm I don't know much about engagement. Can the baby engage if they're back to back or slightly side out but still head down?

Ffo, it's also a natural antiseptic, so if baby has an eye infection or a cut then you just squirt a bit on and it heals right up. Also, the amount of milk you produce is basically programmed in at the night feeds, between something like 2am and 5am so the night feeds are essential for your body making enough milk for baby. It's amazing, it really is.

I've popped in an extra pillow that's a bit slimmer than one I tried before and it's made such a difference so I think my hips aren't far enough apart.

Yes baby sits along your side in the womb as it's getting ready to arrive, but can and does engage when back to back too.

Lovely bump PB

I'm off into hospital this evening ladies, been having strong BH every day for over a week and today they've ramped up. Doesn't feel like labour but they want me in just to check all is ok. Being picked up shortly before 7, hoping he stays put as I really don't want the steroid injection in my bum again :(

Oh no kumber! I hope he isn't trying to make an early appearance! I did watch a one born where she gave birth at 34+1 and baby was OK just needed a bit of help getting breathing, but he was perfect after that. X

Thanks PB, they come when they're ready I suppose but I do hate all this am I, aren't I. My body has a wonderful habit of going into false labour, so I'm not holding out anything, I don't think I'm in any sort of labour at all but better to get checked to be safe.

Not sure if my bump has dropped or if baby has changed position?
Yesterday I was getting lots of pressure and pain in my pelvis, particularly when walking or getting up and last night I had a dream that he flipped over and was very aware of my bump in the night.

Today I feel like there's more space by my ribs and I haven't been feeling him move as much or as strong today or as high up actually, and I feel absolutely exhausted. I've slept most of the day so far! My bump looks a little lower down to me but i'm not sure if it's my imagination as OH said it doesn't look any different.

A bit worried about not feeling him move so much so far today - would I feel him less if he's moved from the back to back position to having his back face outwards? Or if he's getting engaged would the movements feel different?

I put 2 pis together to see a difference otherwise I wouldn't have noticed, maybe try that?
Baby supposed to carry on moving as normal... maybe you should go in and get checked out? X

I would agree with PB chick, get checked if movement is less than usual

Gonna take a photo when the OH gets home as we don't have a full length mirror. Baby likes to be active in be evening/around dinner time and I can feel him wriggling a little already so will give it until later tonight. He's not a morning person just like his dad!

Edit - wriggling like a good 'un!

Hope everything is ok kumber and you don't have to have the horrible injections.
Can't believe we're due next month it's scary !

Morning ladies, only just up and about. We didn't get discharged til 11:30 last night :nap: all is fine, no sign of early labour being imminent which is good. Just need to basically ignore tightenings as they're just really strong BH.

Glad he's staying put for a abit longer!
How will you know the difference between BH and real labour? X
