~*~* September Mummies 2017 - The Final Hurdle! *~*~

How have you decorated the nursery ?
Currently got the mil staying and it's hard work. She's already had a go at me for not picking up my oh mess as he works full time. I'm sorry he's 30 he's more than capable of putting his own tissues in the bin ! She also offered to look after my one year old so I can clear out his bedroom and take down the desk.... not happening my leg and feet are so swollen I'm really struggling to do anything !
Luckily the baby still naps so I'm hiding upstairs under the pretense of nap time xx

Ohh Elfs, that would drive me bonkers! Is she staying for long?

Ffo, how long did it take you to decorate baby's room? We want to decorate the living room and have set aside a full weekend as the ceiling needs doing, as does repainting some furniture, and the doors and skirting boards. Does that seem realistic?

Our whole flat is still all white from when we moved in (although it all needs a touch up as there are marks on the walls in some places) so we went with a very neutral light grey for the baby's room. I'm thinking of adding some off white clouds, perhaps wall decals or painted on, I'm not sure yet.
The wooden furniture (cot, changing table, wardrobe) is all ivory.

To be honest, OH did it all himself because I just couldn't help efficiently and it took him Saturday and Sunday, doing half of the room on each day. Probably worked for about 4 hours each day, but he took his time and didn't rush so it all depends on how efficient you are! We didn't do the skirting boards though as they don't need doing, and I have yet to do the door. I would say that if it's two of you doing it a weekend could be practical if you work quickly. If not, just do the room and then the furniture can be done slow time during the week maybe?

I just got home from doing a big shop at Boots for things for the hospital/changing bags and toiletries; man I need to sit down for like a week! I can't believe how unfit I feel just walking. It's horrible :(

She came on Saturday and is staying until Thursday. I can't even have a drink to get me through it ! my

She sounds like a nightmare, Elfs. I can't stand mothers who treat their adult sons like children! You're better than me because I would have told her to do one by now :P

Thanks ffo, hopefully we'll get it done. Not a hope of doing painting in the week as my toddlers will be at home. They're away for a weekend at the end of August so we're going to get it all done then, will have all of Friday, Saturday and Sunday to get it all done.

I'm sure you'll power through :)

Anyone really stuck on names?
OH wants Clayton and I just can't see it. It's just horrible haha

I think my heart is set on Logan, because I genuinely can't think of any other boys names... I've looked at so many lists online for months!

We've got our name but are really struggling for a middle name. Logan a nice name, use it if you like it!

Logan is a lovely name.
We have a girls name
But no boys name and if this baby is a boy it'll be a nameless little boy xx

We have the most perfect girls name, but he's definitely a boy so that's not helpful!
Also, there always seems to be more baby girl stuff in stores?!

Logan is nice but it way to popular now.. I really like Clayton tho.
Oo I always seem to find more boys stuff lol.

Elfs I'd tell mil if she wants to clean, feel free to do so... why would she come and just tell you what to do lol.
Screw painting at this stage, it killed me at 25 weeks!

Anyone starting raspberry leaf tea/tablets? X

I'll be starting on rlt tablets soon as I remember to get them out/order more

Do you think they worked last time?
Really hoping they give me a quicker labor aha x

Is anyone having/had a baby shower?

I don't think I could even bear one at this point, but I feel sad that I'm not having one :(

I'm not having one, my cousin offered but it was faaaaaaar too much effort.

What does raspberry leaf tea do?

My mom offerd a baby shower. But I don't like being yhe center of attention. Kinda feel sad I've not had one lol x

Kumber it's meant to help labor be quicker

I don't like being the centre of attention either, but for the last two months with being off work and home bound because back pain etc I feel so cut off from the world that a little attention would be nice hah

But I really don't have many friends or family so it would be such a small event, and no time now it's so close!
Perhaps instead I'll try to have a mini celebration once baby is here, between the due date in September and Christmas :)
Kind of like a naming ceremony!

I'm having one for the first time for this baby so my last baby but first baby shower x

Firstfreakout I had one at 30 weeks. My best friend arranged everything and it was amazing. It was a wonderful time to have some me time. Everyone looked after me as I've not be 100% (hypertension and swelling mostly). I enjoyed seeing everyone and playing games most, they bought a disposable camera and made a scrap book as the day went on.

Plus I now have more blankets and bibs than you could ever need! X

Ah people keep tellig me to have a naming ceremony to. No. I hate throwing parties, money on food and drink, the mess after and no one offers to stay and help clean up. No way am I doing that with a new born. My brother wants us to throw a party for the birth of her I'm just like no. Leave me alone. Plus I don't want loads of people trying to touch her before she's had her needles. Lol.

Awh I would love a friend who'd do all that for me. Aha. But at least you have loads of back up stuff. X
