May 2018 Mummies Trimester 3!

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum. Baby is due on the 14th of May. Only 10 weeks to go! Getting very excited / scared now. :-)

Hi MxO, I’ve added your due date to the first post, do you know what you’re having?

I’m 32+3, my energy has really plummeted recently, I’m so tired and out of breath after my 20min walk to work in the morning and then after the walk home I cannot be arsed to do anything except sit on the sofa, cooking even a simple meal seems like too much effort, then I’m ready for bed about 8pm. Hats off to you ladies who have other children to look after, I don’t know how you do it!

I get lots of tickling, pressure and punches in my groin but also lots of hard kicks up high, I think the baby is head down and back to back with me, the other day it kept kicking me over and over in the exact same spot just above my belly button, it honestly felt like it was trying to kick its way out!

The tiredness is a killer isn’t it? I feel like I’m constantly doing a marathon just by walking a few feet I’m shattered but when I get in bed at night I’m wide awake lol and can i heck breath! The pains and kicks you have are also similar to mine and she’s head down (had Midwife appointment yesterday a week late as was snowed in last week) mw called hospital yesterday and booked me in with physio next week and will see if I can get induced a few weeks early due to bad spd legs keep giving way now :-(

Hey :-) welcome to our little group xx

Hi and thanks all! We're having a girl, going to call her Alice.

Husband keeps laughing at me for spending all day waiting to go back to bed! It's nice to know other people are tired too he he he.

well i am really glad i refused those steroid injections on monday. Baby has had a massive growth spurt and has shot up to 25th percentile! thats twice as high as she started from! I dont know whether to laugh or be horrified that i could have been affecting baby's lung development and potentially causing some nuerological damage all for nothing! The consultant had written in my notes on monday "significant IUGR (interuterine growth restriction) steroids needed , increase montioring pending induction" and had said i might need to be admitted next week. Today, everything normal, i didnt even have to do all the trace monitoring ! woo hoo!! Just shows you should trust your gut and not take everything they advise without doing your own research

Oh wow liz that's bloody brilliant! What a huge relief x will you have another growth scan ?

Liz I've just come on and seen your post, absolutely fabulous news about baby having a massive growth spurt. I think sometimes you just know if there is something wrong. Will you still get regular growth scans? xx

i expect i will just as standard for my age but i wont have to go in for these 3 hour monitoring appointments twice a week! Which is a huge relief as hubby starts a new job on monday and i had no idea how i was going to get my toddler looked after while i was hooked up to machines......

on the downside i was getting excited about baby being early and being quite relieved not to have to endure the last few weeks, but now i'm back to the long wait!!!

I'm so pleased for you! It's reassuring to know that they can have a sudden growth spurt. Don't feel quite as worried about ours measuring small now (growth scan tomorrow) :)

That’s great news Liz so pleased for you, must be such a relief!

Holly, I’m sorry your spd is so bad, I get aches during the day but for me the spd mostly effects me at night when my hips get really painful and I wake up and have to turn over every 40 mins. Have they given you some crutches?

No but next week Is the first physio appointment so not sure what they will say do, hope they do something as codiene isn’t touching me xx

poor you, youve had a really bad time of this pregnancy

Been shocking lately Liz I’m not allowed to have a bath or shower unless lanes here my legs just give way under me with out warning and to say I’ve had a shitty pregnancy I’d do it all again and we will be trying for another when Willows old enough (want to appreciate her first) so it’s not put me off

that's fantastic news Liz!! :)

one medical crisis over, another springs up! Had to take my little one to hospital by ambulance today as he pulled cup of boiling coffee over his legs, which started peeling and blistering, it was horrible! Thankfully looked worse than it is i think only top layer of skin damaged. Meanwhile, missed my consultant appointment.....!!

Liz,

That's fabulous news!! I hope baby continues on this path of growing till the end :)

havent been able to get through to rebook my consultant appointment. Although in no hurry as i have burns unit appointments at a different hospital with my little one this week......between 3 of our family members we have had 7 hospital appointments at 3 different hospitals in the space of 8 days! (my husband is getting a new colitis treatment) I have told my daughter to be very careful, we dont need more A&E visits!

While this is happening the fanbelt has gone on our runabout van and my phone is broken so i cant make calls....and its my husbands first day of his new job so he had to talk the car...I just dropped the van off and had to walk 2 miles back home with the baby in the buggy which was a shock to my system after being so sedentary! I had to walk very slowly...!!

Liz,

Sounds like a rough start to the day. You have a lot going on but hopefully everything smooths out soon :)

Good morning,

I'm not sure of the time difference but here in the states it's 08:30am. I just got into work an hour and a half ago. I can't believe I will be 33 weeks tomorrow!! Time is flying by now with this pregnancy. I can't wait till he decides to show up. I'm hoping he comes at 39 weeks right before my due date. I'm counting down till I hit 36/37 weeks as that is full-term :) Just another milestone to reach. I've been in full nesting mode. Still receiving items in the mail from my baby shower. I have put together a list now of the remaining things I need to purchase. I will go on a big shopping trip at the end of the month. Half in store and half online. I receive my diaper bag in the mail this week. Can't wait to pack that when I pack my hospital bag. Which I am aiming to pack the beginning of April when I will be 36 weeks. I'm just excited because it is getting so close now.

How are you guys doing?

Looks like you're 4 hours behind us. I'm getting excited too. Although I have had to readjust to thinking about waiting another 7 weeks rather than 2-4 weeks as it looked like it would be during all the growth scan fiasco! I'm getting very uncomfortable in the evenings with baby feeling so hard and pokey so 7 weeks seems like a loooong time! In the night i'm only comfortable lying on one side but then by the middle of the night my hip is killing me from lying on it! and once i wake up i cant get back to sleep which is really annoying. But apart from that physically i'm doing well and most of the day i'm not uncomfortable. People still dont realise i'm pregnant if i have a coat or jumper on so in some situations i have had to explain why i need to walk at a snails pace/ sit down / need help with my baby/pushchair/shopping etc.

Yeah that would be something to wrap my head around if I thought I only had 2-4 weeks then they go and say never mind 7 weeks. But that just means all is well with bub so you will adjust eventually. :) Sorry that you're uncomfortable. It's almost over! Kind of

I'm uncomfortable at times too. But nothing too bad yet. I had what seemed like reflex for a week but it's gone now. I'm just sore when I sit for a while or when I wake up from sleeping. I just think it's because the baby is getting bigger and preparing to come out. I get braxton hicks contractions now. They do not hurt just belly contracts and gets hard. So that's a good sign my uterus is practicing for the real thing eventually. Just take it easy and hopefully the next 7 weeks fly by.
