Hi all,
well, that's that for another year! The parents all left this morning and the house suddenly feels spacious again

We went for a couple of hours' walk along the river, and are just chilling today - I've 'booked' a bath for tonight, and that's the only activity I intend to do!
ROM - hope all's going/gone well at the hospital. How did your son like his car? Did he guess what it was underneath the wrapping paper?
Chrissie/Bagpuss - hope you both make a quick recovery - what a misery.
AFAIK, FF gives you an open circle for sleep-deprived or different time (anything that is very likely to cause a change in temp) and completely disregards an obvious anomaly. Given most cycles tend to have temps in a range of 1 degree (e.g. my lowest ever temp has been 35.64, my highest ever has been 36.64, and I've only had a couple of each), then any temp one whole degree, or ten increments, higher than your usual range is obviously nothing to do with hormones, and can only be caused by fever. It's therefore disregarded because otherwise it would skew the average. Open circles are included, but if you have several open circles, they cause the crosshairs to be dashed rather than solid, showing it's not a reliable interpretation, or not reliable data. Hope that helps!
Gypsy - hope it works out next month!
Sookie - whassup? Where are you now? STILL on holiday? You lucky beggar!
babydust, hope you had a great day and your daughters didn't do too much unplanned redecorating!
Mildly, FX for you
Loola - On my bedside table I have a small diary, a pen, my thermometer, my mobile phone (as clock) and a torch - one of those credit card ones that you squeeze, so it's easy to turn on when you're half-asleep. My phone alarm is set for 6am every morning, like Bagpuss's, though I usually wake up at some point between 5.30 and 6 anyway. I've noticed within half an hour at that time of day seems to be ok for me - FF gives me open circles if it's earlier than 5.30 or after 6.20. Anyway, I check the time on my phone, if it's after 5 I stick the thermometer in my mouth and desperately try to stop my jaw falling open. Then when it beeps, I take it out, pick up the torch and check the temp. I used to write it down immediately, but I've found that as it's become a habit and I'm used to my range of temps, I remember it. However, my thermometer does have a recall function - when you press the button, for the first three seconds it shows the last temp, then flashes to show it's ready. It will only recall that temp once so you need to be fully awake and with a pen ready to do recall. If I don't write it immediately, then I will check the thermometer after my shower and write it in my diary then. That way I have a hard copy of my temps in case FF crashes (though I also do printouts of my charts!). Last thing at night, I write in my diary other signs, like CM, which I can then update the next day. HTH...
Well, after I came on here and announced I'd ov'ed and my temp had risen, it plummeted. Then rose a little today. I'm thinking it does look like I ov'ed on CD12 after all. Bear in mind the first 7 days were with the old thermometer, which rounded up to the nearest degree, plus .4 - so those temps that look like 35.94 could have been anything from 35.85 upwards, and the 35.84 temps may have been as low as 35.75... Anyway, guess I'll find out over the next couple of days. We gave up on this month though, so I'm not bothered - we'll try again in January. Meanwhile I've been tucking into the Christmas wines

Not loads - but definitely enjoying a couple of glasses a day, spread out over the whole of the evening.
Hope you all had a fab Christmas break - what was your favourite present? (not that it's about presents, but...

)
