Bagpuss, I'd started to wonder about the spotting and lp deficiency. Thing is the spotting only started after I read about it...
The first month of spotting was when I had a chem pg, and my GP told me that the spotting was nothing to worry about, it was simply the body trying to hang on to the embryo and not being sure whether it was coming or going. But then I had spotting last cycle too... I don't know at what point it stops becoming a one-off and starts becoming something to worry about! I decided to see what happens this month, and if I spot again, then go to the doctor in the new year. It looks like my hormones were completely messed up last cycle, with the LH surge being missed by OPKs and the CBEFM, and ov happening several days early, so it might turn out that the chem mucked up the cycle afterwards and the spotting was linked to that. I feel like I can go to the doctor only when I've had at least one 'clean' cycle! Both the last two periods were heavier than usual - the chem was very heavy, but even the last one surprised me. The earliest day I've spotted has been 11dpo, and I think the lp is considered short only if it's shorter than 10dpo - so I'm not sure that the lp length is necessarily a problem, it's whether the spotting is symptomatic of anything else that I'm concerned about (e.g. PCOS, fibroids, endometriosis - anything really, the more I read, the more hypochondriacal I become!)
about your friend. I think a lot of us feel this way at the moment - I think it's probably particularly bad because it's the run-up to Christmas, there are kids' toys and clothes everywhere and it's a child-orientated time of year.
I just realised that my next period is due sometime between 28 Dec and 4 Jan (depending on ov!). I'll be spending New Year's Eve with two couples with a baby each and one couple 7 months pg. Hmmmm
Mildly - when do you think you're likely to ov?
