Chart Stalkers January 2008

Scones - I got mine in Boots. Think it was around thirteen pounds.

Well, AF has definitely started for me.
I am actually quite relieved after my weekend of panicking. AF starting now fits in with early ov which fits in with my chart - even though it's all over the place because I was ill, my first couple of temps when I still felt fine are lower. Sadly all that BDing was too late.... I won't make that mistake again! Although I don't know what cycle length to put on my ticker now - it seems rather random!!
Ready for round 2 of charting!!

Hope everyone is OK and AF staying away....

I feel horrible in my tummy today-like Im constipated or something-Im never constipated,

urrgghhhhhh I have loads of ewcm and can't bd as, horror of horrors, I have a smear booked for 8.30 in the morning arrggghhhhhhh urrrgghhhhhh and oh poo!

It seemed like a really good idea to book it when I booked it and I thought I was being canny booking it for a few days before I am due to ov. Oh well this time tomorrow it will be over.

Have been reading, sorry skimming, the taking charge of your fertility book, and there was a pic of a cervix oozing ewcm and it has given me waking nightmares. I was sitting on the train home worrying that there was that hideous thing inside me oozing and then thinking OMG someone will be poking it tomorrow and urrgggh argghhh. There you have it ladies, the contents of my brain, an image of a giant cervix.

:rotfl: :rotfl: CB you have killed me! I know that pic of the oozing cervix only too well and it is wrong wrong wrongity wrong! :puke:

Dont worry though hun, you may have a few days of EWCM left, and at least the smear should be a little more comfortable. Or you could cancel your appointment? Is that really bad advice!?

Im going to look through the charts now will post again later :D

Hi guys,

Well I have had a crazy day of meeting parents and kids for the first time. A 10 hour day on my feet. Didn't stop! Then I had a salsa class, which was a riot. It was all ex-pats except the teacher and we really needed some Colombians to help us!

Well this morning I woke up at 3:30. As my normal wake up time is 6ish at the moment I thought I had better temp. So I did but then couldn't really sleep again. Must have dozed and was waiting for the alarm but the ruddy thing didn't go off!!! :wall: So aside from being practically awake from 3:30am I was running late for work.

So the actual temp was 97.54 but I adjusted it and FF gave me 98.00 So I'm not sure about the accuracy of today. Now tomorrow as the kids are back at school I have to wake up at 5am, which throws temping out again. When this cycle started I was on holiday and didn't want to wake at 5am every day for 6 weeks! I really thought that AF would have at least been here by now but I am only 4DPO, so will just have to deal with some inaccuracy I guess. Or do you think I should start adjusting them all from hereafter? Not sure

Sorry that a few of you have AF or think it's on its way

Good luck if you're in the 2WW.

Alrighty, sorry to post and run. Am knackered. Ciao.

Good morning all.
I have had another bad night of sleep due to boys being ill.I was up and down from 1am so ended up getting in bed with george and snatching 1/2 hour.

i have started spottins so AF is on her way.

Good luck to all those waiting, babydust to you all and a happy an healthy 9 months to all that have had a BFP

Hello all! Well I'm officially in the 2WW Boo. Here comes the symptom spotting.

CB23 - Thanks for ruining my breakfast. I was just tucking in to a bagel with lots of butter and runny honey. A little to much like the pic in TCOYF! :rotfl: :rotfl: Ah well, it's good for my diet. Maybe you could schedule in some morning BDing??

Scones - Maybe prune juice (yum) I'm constipated too which isn't normally an event but I've been eating lots of veg so shouldn't be. Could we be pg?? Is constipation an early sign? Can you tell I'm in the 2ww yet????

Gyspy - sorry AF got you.

Kmac - sorry she got you too. Don't worry about your ticker mines all over the place. I just have it to look pretty in my sig now.

Chrissy - good luck at the docs. Don't be suprised if they tell you a year isn't a long time. Hopefully they'll agree that after a few months of charting you can prove that more tests are warranted. You might be like me and get your appointment for the Gynae unit and fall p/g a few weeks before your due to go. It didn't stick but at least we know we can get p/g. Every cloud and all that.

ROM - lovin the image of the fashionalbe bag hiding your charts, next time I'm in the docs surgery and I see one I'll be thinking what's in there then! :rotfl:

Sookie - hope you get some rest

Loola - lets try and keep each other sane through the 2ww.

Sorry if I've missed anyone. My temps are unusally low but I put it down to the fact it's freezing and DH is trying to save on gas! :x

Morning ladies  Sorry I didnt get any stalking done last night after all as Messiah was on.

Sorry it looks like AF is onher way Gypsy, still hoping that its implantation.

Well I am gutted. I was so expecting another high temp today but instead of a rise I had a drop so still no ovulation on my chart. Even if it rises tomorrow it wont show as ovulation. So I dont know whats going on. Im so convinced I ovulated on day 16/17. Sat was my last day of EWCM and Id had a positive OPK on the Friday aswell as my usual 'ovulation' pain. Surely even if I was a slow riser it should have risen by now? :wall:

Any advice would be really appreciated :?

morning lovely ladies..... hope you are all well.

Loola - from looking at your chart if you OV'd earlier than you think on you last day of low temps, you chart shows you've been having a slow rise from there and if you did OV on that date then today's dip would be at 6 DPO and could be a good sign. the only things that put my theory on it's head is you + OPK at day 16. i would def think you have OV'd though and hopefully FF will see it too and put your lines in soon

Gypsy - sorry to hear AF is on her way....and to top that of you're not sleeping well either. Try to have a early night one night to see if you can catch up some of the missed sleeps.

Sookie - If I was you I would adjust my temps until your next AF just to keep your chart on something like a level. If you don't adjust them then FF will put in the open circles and you'll be thinking that your charts should be different.

CB23 - that picture in TCOYF is just the most disgusting thing I think I've ever seen. I didn't even dare show it DH... he's quite sensitive in the stomach area when it comes to gross things and I know if I'd have shown him that it would have been the end of our baby making activity!!!! :rotfl:

Scones - I got my thermometer from ebay and it's fine. It's the same one that's on babymad but it was cheaper. I think that any chemist will do them so if you don't want to get one online you can pop in there next time your in town.

Kmac - sorry AF got you. I've tried to console myself by thinking that if all us chart stalkers got BFP's in the same month then this post would be very boring so therefore..... I've got to stay here for a while longer. I know.....I'm wierd!

  Hope everyone else is ok

KMAC sorry AF got you :( :(

Scones I got the boots thermometer in a pack with a diary and a pen. The ordinary thermometer they sell doesn't do 2 decimal places so make sure the one you get does.

Sookie I agree with Chrissy I would adjust your temps. Hope you have a calmer day today

Gypsy hope that the spotting doesn't necessarily mean she is on her way

Trudy so sorry for putting you off your brekkie. I hadn't noticed the similarity with bagels but now you mention it......

I am so glad I'm not the only one that was freaked by that pic

Loola I often get a slight dip on day 3 then it climbs again - its just wait and see I'm afraid. Pain I know.

Chrissy what time is your appointment?

Hello to everyone else

Well I had a very interesting smear, I mentioned ttc when nurse asked which cd I was on, then when she was trying to find my cervix she said it points backwards, so when ttc I should have my pelvis tilted and try to ensure as deep a penetration as possible. And try a few different positions. So I'm glad I went really!

it's late surgery tonight so my appointment isn't until 7:20. DH is coming with me too so we can show we are serious about it all. I'm quite nervous about it actually!

Chrissy dont be nervous - you are doing the right thing - I think talking sooner rather than later is a great idea and I am sure your GP will too. I suspect they will arrange for you to have a load of blood tests first off - usually one at CD3 and then one at 7 dpo - they just check that you are ovulating that way. I think its great that your DH is coming along - you are right the doctors will see you are serious about this then.

I hope it goes well for you later Chrissy

KMAC -

Gypsy - sorry if it is AF, but for now - positive thinking!!!! Sorry you havent been sleeping (not been sleeping well myself either - but dont feel too tired yet!)

CB23 - I dont have the book yet but from the picture descriptions Im already feeling a little off colour :puke:

Loola - sorry its a wait and see thing (they are the worst aren't they) but I think you know your own body better than FF so go with what you think until proven otherwise!

Sookie - I'd go with what the others have said and adjust the temps so you are still working from the same sort of info for this cycle.

Scones and Trudy - hope your constipation eases (unless its because of PG that is, in which case - and in the nicest possible way - hope it stays with you!)

 everyone else! Hope you are all having a good day x

Hey all.

Chrissy, good luck for this evening. When I saw my doctor about my odd cycles following the chem, he told me to come back at the end of the 6th cycle if we hadn't conceived and he'd start doing tests. He said the one year thing is because the vast majority of 'infertility' he sees can be explained by BDing at the wrong time but he would expect pg within around 6 months if intercourse was well-timed. He also said that sometimes we're just unlucky - the egg gets fertilised, then doesn't implant properly, or else has the egg/sperm has chromosomal abnormalities so they don't fertilise properly (I read somewhere - Zita West? - that on ave, only 1 in 4 fertilised eggs even implants). Hopefully your doc will be as willing to help as mine.

CB23 - :puke: :puke: :puke: That picture was truly horrible, I felt physically sick. It reminded me of those big pipes emptying into sewers, bleurgh bleurgh bleurgh! Think I'd rather think of bagels and honey! Sounds like your smear was worth having for more reasons than usual...

Kmac - sorry  your chart is so difficult to interpret - but at least for your next one, you'll have a decent idea of your post-ov temps.

Scones - I got my original one from Access Diagnostics, but it was rubbish - the last digit always showed 4. Apparently they've since changed supplier though. I got the current one from BabyMad on eBay - no problems, and cheap.

Sookie - ah, the adjust or not to adjust question! Well, after playing around with my chart, I have come to the conclusion that FF gives me open circles if I temp +/- 30 mins outside normal. Sooooo... my policy this cycle is to use the corrector if I temp >30 mins earlier or later than usual, or if I get <1hr unbroken sleep before temping. On that basis, I used the temp corrector for CD17, as I woke at 5:20, but used the actual temp for CD18, when I woke at 5:30, and the actual temp this morning when I woke at 4:00, went back to sleep within 10 mins, and woke again at 6:00. Interestingly, the temp that the corrector gave me for 6:00 based on my 4:00 time was just 0.01 deg higher than my actual time - and I guess that's pretty fair, had I not woken and gone to the bathroom (cooling down en route), it should theoretically be slightly higher. So that seems to work for me.

Gypsy - FX AF stays away, and that you get some sleep

Loola - 3 out of 4 of my charts show a dip between CD2 and 4... let's see what the next 3 or 4 days show, you can always do a manual override.

Trudy - looks to me like you're in the 1ww now?! Looking good... for a BFP for you...

 to ROM and anyone else I've not mentioned!

How to i do a manual override? :? If I had to do one of course!

go to your 'my chart' page.

Scroll down till you see the 'ovulation detector' box. That will show you which method FF is currently using. Underneath it, click on 'Tuning/Override'.

This will take you to a new page. The box at the top will allow you to set your manual override values - you need to work out what cycle day you want as ov day, and what temp you want to set the coverline at.

The box below will allow you to switch between FF detectors - always worth doing, as sometimes the diff detectors give diff days. For example, I'm on FAM at the moment. If I did Advanced (the default) it says I haven't ov'ed, whilst Research thinks I ov'ed on CD13. Both ridiculous, obviously...

Ah thats brilliant! Thanks Kitty - Im gonna stick 2 fingers up to FF for today just to make myself feel better!

:rotfl: :rotfl: Loola - go girl....

Well I seem to still be in limbo land - temps seem pretty high but only the faintest line on my OPK :( just want to get this cycle out the way so we can try again......

Had 15 FRER's delivered from the USA that I got off ebay today and they are burning a hole in my cupboard already (actually I pee'd on one just in the name of science you understand..... :D)
