Chart Stalkers April 2008

Sorry my last post was not v positive!!! The nurse did tell me that it shouldnt make conceiving any more difficult. I should have added that bit! :D

Loola - sorry if i've got you worrying if you have a tilting cervix!

Not at all Kmac! Im not worried about the tilting cervix, there are millions of mothers out there with them. Am I right in remembering that Chrissy had a smear and she was told she had a tilting cervix? and look where she is now! Im probably getting my stalkers mixed up again mind you!

Im starting to get worried about the fertility tests though I admit. I have asked my OH and he looked very sheepish about it all. We have home fertility tests which we havent used yet. He will do that soon and Ill do mine after AF has been and gone. We are both expecting some bad results to be honest but at least its a step closer to getting something done about it. If his sperm count is low then hopefully it will be easily fixed with medication and a continuation of the healthy lifestyle. If its zero then we have a whole lot of decisions to make, it doesnt bare thinking about just yet. :?

I have booked my smear test for 22nd April. I could be ovulating at the time of the smear test. Do you think I should arrange it for another time? Its quite likely that Ill be ovulating if Im having a normal cycle. As tomorrow will be Day 1, the 22nd Apr will be Day 19 - I ovulated on day 19 this month.

Hey loola

Dont fret about the fertility tests. Me and DH did them and his came back negative! (ie consult your doctor!) Doctors did their own tests and found that all was normal!

Oh well thats promising! I guess sperm count levels can change from shot to shot so to speak  If I think back to a year ago my OH was drinking every day, and I dont just mean a pint or 2, I mean about 8 pints or a 70cl bottle of vodka  He was eating junk food constantly and smoking like a chimney. He still smokes but nowhere near that amount, he only has a drink on Fri and Sat nights and half a bottle of vodka will get him wrecked (2 shots of vodka would get me wrecked  ). He eats healthily now and has lost over 3 stone since Christmas. This HAS to be helping! But it takes 3 months for new sperm to arrive, so its only now that all the good things should be effecting the sperm. I didnt expect this to happen overnight. So Im not too worried about the sperm levels being a bit low, as they can be improved with time, effort and perhaps medication. What im worried about is if they are zero. What will happen then?

Im sure his sperm were fat, lazy and drunk 3 months ago, just like my OH! I hope that this works both ways and they are now slimmer, more energetic and have a goal in life! :rotfl:

It sounds like he has done REALLY well   You must be v proud. The results will probably be fine. I think most of us have wondered what happens if it never happens!

He has done amazingly and I am incredibly proud of him, he has made me so happy and my breeziness about TTC of late has been down to him making all this effort. If he hadnt I would still be in the frame of mind that it was never going to happen and things were never going to get better, he has given me hope :D I am a patient person underneath it all, I can wait to have a baby as long as we are trying our hardest! What used to drive me crazy before was that we werent BDing enough or at the right time mainly because he was pissed all the time! He really has changed his life around. He was struggling with depression before. TTC has saved him in some ways and a good old threat of me leaving him if he didnt sort it out of course!! Sometimes you really do have to be cruel to be kind. :) Him doing this has proved to me that he will be a good father and a good husband in the future. :D Most importantly he is a far far happier man these days - happier OH = happier Loola! :cheer:

Hubby is home soon so hope to get some BD action!
I have the dentist tomorrow which I am anxious about! I hate them! I need a filling or extraction! :?

Loola - the letter i got reminding me about my smear test said it should be mid-cycle, which for a 'normal' woman would be the time they ov.

Ah there we are then! Thanks Kmac, I seem to have booked it at exactly the right time by accident! :)

 everyone
sorry af got you loola, kaykav and rach hope you feel better soon:hug:

sally what a horrible day  i am really overdue a smear, i keep getting reminders  but i have had enough poking down there for a while, i actually asked them if they could do a smear at the same time as the d&c but they said no way :( they left me feeling silly for asking
kmac i hope your opk turns positive soon, i have an opk line back so i hope mine gets stronger also

sookie, things are much better with dh, so we are back to ttc only for this month but havent told dh when ov is due, trying to stay relaxed about it, i have decided if no bfp this month we will wait until after my sisters wedding in december

i wont be on now until tuesday as we are going down to my sisters in bournemouth for a break, and ov will probabally happen when we are away  , i hinted to dh about booking into sandbanks hotel just the two of us for one of the nights we are away, but i think i need to hint a bit stronger  , also my sister said her and her oh would like to spend some time themself with the girls

have a good weekend everyone

:( Aww sorry Rach, didn't realise the af bitch got you, I hope you feel better soon

As for the tilted cervix, my mum has one and has had no problems concieving, she was a heavy spotter throughout her cycle too, she even said she was shocked she got pg at all, but it just goes to show it didnt cause her any probs.

Looks like I ovd, I think  feel really shite this morning :( must be some bug going round :puke:

Oh yeah forgot too say, I noticed something

I dribble in my sleep at certain times  and have only just realised that everymonth I dribble after ov! :rotfl: get that, why would that be? something to do with the progesterone?

Hey everyone just checking in again so you know Im still about and Ive not deserted you completely!

Feel like a right slacker as Ive not been able to get online this month really due to various things (including my trip halfway up the country, being very busy at work and having a long weekend for our wedding anniversary). I think Ive been less obsessed this month and not thinking about ttc so much so we'll see if the theory about not thinking about it actually does work!

Sorry to those who have AF (Loola KayKav and Rach - and anyone else Ive missed on that score).

ROM - Good Luck matey hope things get sorted really soon for you.

 Everyone else hope you are all ok!

Tasha - I have noticed alot of bodily changes after ovulation. I have mentioned it before that I get constipation and bloatedness, caused by progesterone levels. I have proved this again as now that AF is here I can go to the loo as normal! but I have also noticed that my body hair grows quicker after ovulation! I have to shave my legs, under arms etc  more often after ovulation. I guess this must have something to do with the progesterone too.

Anyone else noticed any post ovulatory changes?

Oh yeah never thought about those changes, I get the constipation, bloating, hair growth is quicker.

Interesting what you learn about your body when ttc :)

I have read that progesterone also causes the muscles of the intestines and body to relax, so that would explain the constipation.

  i just looked up if i were to get a bfp this month i would be due on christmas day  and my sisters wedding is on 28th december :rotfl:

Claire  no whats the betting that is exactly what will happen!! I think its called sods law!!

Well I am beginning to panic now over the cost of seeing the fertility specialist - rang the clinic and they said it would depend on what tests etc they made us have - I explained that we had had a series of blood tests done already by our GP but the nurse said that they liked to do their own!! She also said if we were to be put on chlomid the likelihood is that they will want to scan to check for ovulation..... I am excited that we may get my body sorted but also a little apprehensive that it might cost an absolute arm and a leg...... Having just had to shell out £560 to get Josh's car through it's MOT this month it seems that we are having to find very deep pockets.... :D

Hope everyone else is OK
