***April & May Mummy & Baby***

Evan had tears this morning. First time - I'm oddly excited about it!

Also received his 2 Grobags this morning, he is such a wriggler and he's over the recommended weight for them. I don't think the chunky monkey will last long in his carrycot though!

Seems to be feeding around 2/3 and 6 which is ok. Trying to head to bed for about half 8, but invariably it's more like half 10/11 by the time he and I are settled. Starting to feel like I'm coping better now, and feel less bad about handing him over to my mum or dad to have half an hour to myself.

DH is struggling though, with being back at work (he hates his job) and then Evan crying and him not being able to soothe him. Think he's struggling with the fact that his life can't go back to normal and he will have to make some sacrifices.

Hey Amy :-)

Glad you are feeling a little better today! Glad to hear Evan is doing well too :-)

My hubby went back to work today too...and despite him loving his job, he hates being there and wants to come home! Bless...cant imagine being separated from Joshua this early on - I really do feel sorry for the daddies.

I think it's great that you have a little bit of extra support from your parents - if you are able to take an hour or two to sleep / shower / chill out - then you should - a sane happy mum = a happy baby at the end of the day! If I lived with my parents, I would be doing the same thing.

Did you try Evan on Infacol or anything yet to see if it helps? Joshua has been an angel baby (god, hope I'm not jinxing it now!) since we started giving him a dose before every feed - he is doing really well on it. I am also using a dummy to settle him (something I wasn't keen on doing) - but I am willing to try anything during these first few weeks / months!

I kept forgetting to give the Infacol on the night feeds, but his crying is so sporadic that I don't think it is colic. He has been having a dummy in between feeds which has helped (I was dead against them too), and he's actually slept in the day which means he is less grumpy in the evenings. It's just trying to interpret what the cry is. I keep reminding him that I don't speak baby yet so he has to bear with me!

Fortunately my mum and dad love having us live with them. I was quite concerned about developing PND so having the support definitely helps. I'm sure a couple of days ago when I was having my meltdown Evan was picking up on it and it made him more upset. My mum just takes him downstairs and calms him down and she loves the cuddles :) xxx

Ah yes, am looking forward to the day when I am fluent in "baby speak"! These are testing times indeed - this time last week I was pulling my hair out and feeling like a complete failure!! This week has been so much better...long may it continue.

I live a good half an hour away from my mum - and to be honest, I would love it if she was a lot closer. She is coming over a few times a week though, as she does love her grandson cuddles :-) I think babies do pick up on when you are stressed out - so you are doing the best possible thing in letting your parents help. Luckily when I had a mini meltdown last week, DH was still feeling quite sane, so was able to take over for a bit! When my DH had a mini meltdown, I then took control again - just hoping that we don't have a mini melt down at the same time!! That could be interesting lol...

Have you registered Evan's birth yet?

I need to make a Dr's apt very soon to see if I can start driving earlier - I cant wait another 3.5 weeks...it's killing me already and I am so bored!! xxxxx

Hi girls. Grace is now registered as a real person :yay: had a busy day but she was as good as gold :)

HV tomorrow too.

I had a note in my door from the midwife today (which I thought was strange because she was only here yesterday) turns out Grace has tested borderline for hypothyoridism. MW is coming to re do the blood test tomorrow to rule it out hopefully... Can't find much on google and the bits and bobs I do find worry me a bit. If its not treated early it can cause neurological problems later on but if she has got it she'll be on meds forever :( poor baby. Fx she doesn't have it x

Wanted to get Eliza registered but women kept on asking was I married to the dad did he no he was a dad and did he know I was there to get her registered without him. Was in front of people in waiting room, didn't want to tell them in front of others due to domestic violence he wasn't around so I left :( my mum said she will come with me next week to do it xx

That's awful!

We were in a private room when we gave all the details.

Ask for a privacy next time, hugs hun

Found a bit of goo in Libby's eye earlier, google tells me more than likely blocked tear duct so gentle massage and breast milk should sort it :) it's not bothering her at all.

That's horrible! Hope it goes better next week. They should have been a lot more discreet. Idiots! Xx

Jazz that's awful! Really annoys me how some people just don't consider people's situations. Hope it goes better next time.

CeeCee! hope the results come back clear. Stay away from google!

Went to baby clinic today and Daisy is now 8lb! Following the 25th percentile nicely. Went docs and got new prescription for drops for thrush and also some cream for my nips. Hope it sorts it out!

Jazz, that's awful...how insensitive of the staff!! You shouldn't have had to deal with that at all.

I hope you have better luck next week xxx

Morning Ladies,

Hope everyone is well on this beautiful sunny day!!

A quick question re: bathing...! I have been given the go ahead to bathe Joshua fully now - as long as I keep his belly button completely dry...

Are you all just using water to wash your little ones? Or can I now add a teeny bit of Johnsons baby wash to the water??

Thanks :-) xxx

I'd steer clear of products for now hun esp.before bb is fully healed. I add junior oilatum as DS1 has eczema and it helps him (its liquid paraffin)

Tapatalking so cant see signatures
