***April & May Mummy & Baby***

Ok yours sounds like a witch chezza!!! I don't think I'd be able to keep quiet, I'd have to say something!!

Hey ladies

Can I ask how do you know when you've started your period? I've not bled for a few days now, near a week, TMI but my discharged went from old blood to a creamy kinda discharge. Only today I've started bleeding again, old blood to start with but it's slowly turning red. Could this be my first period? Xx

I had this. It started on Friday now it's stopped again. I think it was my first period. I even had very small periody clots which led me to the period conclusion x

Am i the only one who likes my HV?! lol

She's an old fashioned kinda midwife...one of those 'i have to tell you the guidlines, but we did it differently with our kids and they turned out ok!' She's a great believer in a mother intuition apparently. But we shall see!

I really don't like mine at all. She told me my house wasn't ideal for a baby because there are too many stairs (I have 3 floors) - yes well, I can purchase stair gates cant I - and she told me I was overfeeding JJ and that his weight had to be monitored weekly.

In our first meeting I had to describe how I made a bottle up, step by step and also had to describe how I changed a nappy and cleaned JJ!

I always feel like a naughty school child in her company - I feel like she is judging me.

I'm dreading my appt with her next Tues. :oooo:

She sounds horrific Chezza! I'm in a town house with loads a stairs which is a pain but my health visitor hasn't said anything to me. The cheek of her x

I'm a bit worried now! Scott only manages between 4 and 5 oz per feed note. He did have 6 last week but just couldn't ever finish a bottle so I dropped it back to 5. Everyone else's baby seems to drink far more reading this. I think the main problem is he drops asleep nearly every bottle and waking him is just impossible! He's not unsettled though so maybe he just has a small appetite

I would report her for that Chezza! They're not there to boss you about, they're just supposed to advise and make sure all is ok xx

She sound awful! You should have pretended to sellotape the nappy on haha!

My HV is a bit of a dithering old woman lol but she's ok. I've only meet her twice though because I just told her if I need her I'll be in touch and I've never needed her lol. I'm on child number 4, been there got the t shirt so really don't need a HV's input. If I do have any questions I tend to ask on this forum :)

Grrrrr! Sick of the in laws! Got j into a bit of a routine of bath, bottle, bed and he immediately slept from 8-4. We decided we don't really want to be up at 4am so decided to push his bedtime to 10/11. Just had the inlaws saying 'ooh its far too late for a bath now, need routine no later than 6 or 7 and he's too young to be sleeping through' I feel like screaming BUGGAR OFF!!!

What do you guys think? Xx

Absolutely - I wouldn't worry Tambo - Scott looks perfectly healthy and happy! But as everyone always says...speak to your HV or GP if you need reassurance :-) xx

Nod smile and carry on, Libby goes to bed at 9.30 and wakes between 4 and 6 but I'm too knackered to stay up any later lol up until a few weeks ago it was between 10 and 10.30

Nails painted, legs shaved and hair dried just got to straighten my hair in the morning and do my make up.

I think it's none of their business! Scott sometimes has a bath at midnight lol! Last week he had a really smelly poo so the bath was run at half 2am lol, he was happy enough to splash around for 10 minutes. We do it whenever he is awake and active. He is yet to find out what a clock is and until he has any concept of time we do what we want when we want to do it. I have been the same with all my children and they turned out fine :)

How can a baby be too young to sleep thru! Don't listen to anyone, you know what's best for your lo.

Chezza ur hv sounds awful! Just nod politely and get her out the door!

We've been discharged now so occasionally pop to the baby clinic for questions etc. We had a different mw/hv every visit some were ok some not so much. My 2nd mw visit was man when T was 4 days old, I don't usually have a prob with male docs but it was very weird and he wasn't very nice!

T is still only taking 3/4 oz too, I'm breastfeeding too but we are topping up with formula at some feeds as he likes to fight me sometimes! When he has a formula only feed at night he'll rarely have more than 4oz. I've been trying to increase to 5oz to try and make him sleep longer but he'll never finish the bottle, No matter how much I try to entice him with the teat on his lips!!!

Scott is lovely and chunky so he must be getting what he needs :)

Freddie seemed to be a guzzler but he's slowed down a lot and just now only just managed 3oz- but some feeds are much more- it's hard not to worry, especially as he's sleeping lots, but he's always been a sleepy baby. I guess they will take what they want/need and it will be obvious from their weight if its not enough?

Morning Ladies! Hubby took night duty last night and I got 6 hours solid sleep - bounced out of bed this morning! :-)

JJ only woke twice on night 2 of being in his own room - a huge improvement.

Off out for a morning of shopping...have good day everyone! xxx

From what I express I'm guessing Libby takes about 4ozs

Eventful morning, as soon as I got nappy off she weed and pood, everywhere full change for her and shower off changing mat.
