***April & May Mummy & Baby***

Shell - at the mo, this is what JJ has each day:

06.00am - 7oz milk
07.00am - 1 x Tbsp porridge oats mixed with boiled water
10.00am - 7oz milk
14.00pm - 70z milk
16.30pm - 6 - 8 x Tsp's puree and one of the following: carrot / melon / apple batons
19.00pm - 9oz milk

I'm also unsure where to go from here lol!

Having spoken to a few friends, the majority have said that there LO's stopped started dropping a bottle slowly but surely, as meal sizes were increased. So apparently, you keep offering the same amount of milk and they will let you know if they want it or not.

Might be worth posting in the main section of the forum for more ideas?!? xxx

BN we are not going mad this year either, there's no point.

We are getting things that he needs like some clothes, pyjamas and a few little toys. I know he'll be more interested in the paper than the presents!

Xxxx

Up 5 times last night and awake for the day at 5.05am....going to be a long day today...:-( xx

That sounds rough Chezza,

S#####y night here too but at least we didn't get up till 7.30 well I say up we're having cuddles in bed.
OH slept on the sofa bed last night so although we were up every hour at least I could starfish and there was no snoring!!

My DH snores like a demon...actually told him this morning that after years of me nagging him to do something about it, it is now essential that he acts on it - or I am going to end up buying a blow up bed to sleep in Joshie's room from now!!! I've pretty much been awake since 02.30am and the only time I can abide doing that is if I am getting on a plane to go somewhere hot!!!!

Feel like a bloody zombie today...which means I am probably going to eat a load of crap food and feel even more rubbish later on. Boooo. xx

Morning ladies,

Shell I have no idea when it comes to the whole weaning thing. This is how H feeds go:

8am 6oz bottle
12noon 5-6oz bottle
1.30 half tablespoon of purée
4pm 5-6 oz bottle
7.30 top up bottle anything between 4-6oz

Then bed! I'm wanting to introduce breakfast so I'm thinking give some fruit around 9.30am. I have no idea if I'm doing it right or wrong, time will tell I suppose. He has bits of fruit and veg of my plate also.

Well is now my turn to get up in the night, last night he was an angel. Went down without fuss and didn't wake til 4am. But I woke at 3 and couldn't get back to flipping sleep, I was still awake for an hour after his feed! I'm with you chezza, it's going to be a long day.

Rough night here Rian just wouldnt settle. Hes discovered rolling now which is a nightmare.

Got the shock of my life this morning got up for a wee checked on him and was on hus front hes never dobe that before scared me a bit if im honest i rolled him back only to check him an hour later and he was on his front again. Xx

Woohoo! Another night with only one wake up - and he let us lie in til 7.30!

Just a shame we had a major grump at 9 and I had to resort to boob to get him to sleep.

Shell - Evan started sleeping on his front randomly at about 3 months. As long as he is happy (and asleep lol) I am fine. Although the first time he did it I had to check on him every few minutes.

Emma b - I find that Evan is rarely interested in breakfast. With weaning most babies only want milk for breakfast but see how you go. Try not to worry though, if he is hungry give him a milk feed but any other time try with the fruit xxx

Amy thanks for the advise Hun :D I plan on giving him his milk feed first, he's still a little young yet so all milk feeds will be offered first and an hour or so after his milk I'll let him try some fruit. It's really only for him to taste rather than eat, if that makes sense?! Lol

Libby looks like a proper little girl now, bless her! When did our babies all get so big?!?

I worry about giving Joshie something like toast...Did you find that Libby just sucked on it more than anything? We only eat granary bread - I wonder if that would be ok to give him, or should it be white?!?

I do my shopping online, so always plan our meals a week in advance and I will need to start including proper food for Joshie soon! Weird to think of him eating the same things as us in a couple of weeks!

xxxx

I know they are growing up far to quickly.
She did really well with the toast sucked on it pulled some pieces off played with them in her mouth :) I had some best of both in so used that. Gonna do jacket spuds tomorrow :)

Ekk I've just steamed and blended pear for H breakfast tomorrow!

I'm actually finding the weaning business exciting, can't wait to see his little face lol

H has been an angle today, not just good natured but an angel! Took all his naps, slept langer than and hour on each on and has been in a really happy, talky, smiley kinda mood it's been lovely.

However after being awake most of last night, I'm shattered so bed time for me soon.

Hope you all have a lovely peaceful night xxx

I'm awake and can't get back to sleep :( on a plus side though H only woke at half 2 and 5 am! He's not done that for ages. We've had the min of at least 4 get ups in the night for weeks now.

I don't like avocado but H loves it :)

Has anyone any tips/advice on what to give for breakfast? I tried H with some cow and gate creamy porridge but it didn't half make his face bright red and blotchy so don't want to give it him again yet. He's mostly having fruit at the moment for his breakie. Thanks x

Stargirl - try H on PLUM's first baby porridge - it is gluten and dairy free and much better for early weaning. In fact, you don't have to try PLUM...just try and source a gluten free stage 1 porridge :-)

Had a good night thank goodness...only 1 wake up and he self soothed before I got to him anyway :-) I feel much better this morning, although I'm pretty sure, given the opportunity, I could sleep for a week!

Not doing much today...top up of food shopping and am going to make a big batch of Parsnip, Carrot and Sweet Potato puree to freeze for LO. He had Strawberry puree yesterday and I couldn't get the spoon in his mouth fast enough lol! The only aversions we have so far are for Banana and Avocado.

Might try some toast next week...will see how we go this week. xxx

Thanks chezza. I picked the cow and gate one because it was the only one on the shelve that was gluten free. They didn't have any PLUM ones. It did contain milk and soya though. Think a trip to asda is in order.

I haven't given H any finger foods yet - I still think he's a bit young. But might try in a few weeks. He's 5 months next Monday - 21 weeks old today :) so daw he's loved everything we have tried.
