***April & May Mummy & Baby***

Hi girls,

All this weaning sounds so fun! Treys chair arrives this week then I'm going to really experiment! He watches us like a hawk when we eat, and is fascinated with seeing us chew, I know he's ready now and I'm glad I stuck to my guns to wait until 5 months! I downloaded the annabel karmel app so we are ready! Quick question, what do you use to mash the food? I plan on boiling the fruit/veg and then just using a spoon or a potato masher, will that do? We don't have space for one of those fancy food processors!

Trey is 5 months today, eeeekkk! My boy is getting so big, they are all growing so fast right, it's mad! He's so funny and laughs all the time, I look forward to playing with him everyday. It's amazing to watch him learn new things everyday :)

I love Tuesdays, I go for my weight watchers at lunchtime and I pretty much have a day off from dieting and have good lil munch! Then a bit of food shopping and then playtime this afternoon :)

morning everyone!
All this weaning does sound fun. can't wait to start. I made some carrot puree & froze it in ice cube trays. will make some pumpkin ones today too.
I was out at my exercise class last night and, as is the case every Monday night, E had a mare & just screamed until she tired herself out & fell asleep. it's enough to give poor OH a complex.
on the plus side, I had a great night with her. she woke twice for a feed but went straight back to sleep.
we're off to our baby massage class in a bit. have a good morning ladies & babies!

I'm loving weaning, although we haven't gone any further than carrots! We are introducing breakfast today, he has pear to try! Just waiting for him to tell me he wants his bottle, then well try the pear an hour or so after that, can't wait to see his face lol

Gonna make some parsnip and swede purées and if my deliveries come early enough I might nip to Morrison and pick up some sweet potato and butternut squash. Gonna purée them separately then just mix and match the flavours once he's tasted them individually.

Baby bushie mashing them with a fork, spoon or masher will be fine Hun, you could even afford to leave a few small lumps in the purée as trey is a little older now. I prefer to steam H fruit and veg but that's just personal preference, you could use some of the boiled water to loosen the purée if needed plus the lost vitamins and minerals will be in the boiled water :) good luck Hun, it's loads of fun!

Nothing planned for us this morning, just waiting in for tesco delivery, had to order H some new vests and sleepsuits in 6-9months can you believe!!! He's only 4 months, it really is ridiculous how much he's growing he's just so big!! Lol Had a decent night with H too last night, one wake up call at 2am, fed and back to sleep for both of us by 2.40am and up for the day at 7.15am :) funnily enough I still don't feel very refreshed :/

Hey BB, I got this to mash food up:

http://www.johnlewis.com/annabel-ka...0064e3eac9&s_kwcid=ppc_pla&tmad=c&tmcampid=73

It's great :-) Although I have been getting more use out of my hand held blender for big batch puree's.

Hi ladies, tried to catch up but its been mad with everuthing. Mark is loving food, wants everything i eat, literally grabs my plate and drags it towards himself. He is almost sitting by himself, needs a bit more practice. He was a bit snuffly for couple of days(courtesy of big brother), ok during the days but more snuffly at night because of lying down.
We are having our garden landscaped soon, I am not looking forward to the mess but needs to be done. Booked a photoshoot for all of us for end of October, need to shift some weight asap.
Libby is indeed looking all grown up.

Tapatalking so cant see signatures

Thanks for the tips girls!

Thanks for the link Chezza, looks ideal :)

This weaning is an interesting business ladies. Rubes has a bit of baby porridge and fruit purees. She didn't like mangoes lol I'm waiting for the weaning course at my children's center but I can't be put on it until the woman has come out. She's going to be over 6 months before I bloody get on it. Frustrating!! X

Ps me and Rubes are full of cold. It seriously is poop :( xx

Mrs hope - I have the info for the weaning course but can't make my mind up weather to go on it or not.

BB - I use a hand blender £5 from asda and goes in a drawer afterwards. I bake root vegetables apart from carrots and steam the rest. Those steam bags from asda are great. Really big so you can fit loads of veg in them :)

It is crazy how quick our lo's are growing - scary really. I'm on a bit of a high today. H only woke at 2:30 and 5! And even though I struggled to get back to sleep after the 5am wake up I've still had more sleep then I've had in weeks :) xx

Oooh might ring and book on now then. My HV said you get freebies but didn't say what! I love a good freebie :)

H has had a lovely morning. He's now on his 3rd nap of the day. Daddy has got him this evening as I am off out for tea, so I've expressed a bottle of milk, defrosted some as an emergency bottle incase he wakes before I come home. OH has only every had H on his own 3 times before and technically tonight he won't be on his own as my mum is off work so she'll be home as back up. X

After an epic grump again last night he was up twice. But cos he woke at 5 I feed him and he went back to sleep til 8.30 so I had a lie in.

Took him to baby group this morning but he was so grumpy. His bottom tooth is slowly but surely pushing through.

Had a minor panic as I was ravenous yesterday. The last time I felt that hungry was the day I got my bfp. I'm definitely not though, only dtd once and that was a few weeks after I had the coil.

Evan had a stick of cucumber, a bit of my pasta followed by a cold sweet potato wedge from last night. He is going to bed too early to have dinner with us and I'm really relaxed about blw. I'm not expecting him to eat so when I eat something suitable he has some too. There is a cold pear in the fridge for later - hoping it helps with the teething too.

Loving weaning this week, she's been fab now I'm being more consistent.

Today's potato carrot and broccoli

So cute V&B!

Star girl - I Assume everyone gets the same freebies. Blender, bowls and spoons apparently. I bloody hope so! Just want the blender really zx

I tried ringing the number I had to book on to the weaning course but got no answer so have just left a message. Hope they get back to me.

Had an awful day today...don't know if it's this 5th LEAP or teething or something else, but Joshie is seriously unhappy with everything at the moment.

3rd day in a row that the only time he isn't crying is when he has a bottle on the go.

Also finding that since coming off comfort milk, instead of pooping 3 times a day, he is going once every two days...but when he goes, it is epic...explodes everywhere and is a nightmare to clean up.

Going back to work in 6 weeks...and the thought of that is getting me down too - I feel very emotional today.

Sorry girls...ignore me...having a "me, me me" moment and need to snap out of it!

Big hugs Chezza, sorry J J is being a grumpy pops. Maybe it is the leap, I hope he settles soon for you.

As they say these leaps don't last forever so hopefully by the time you go back to work he will be back to his usual bouncy self :)

I feel your pain chezza, Evan is having a horrible day. I think it's teeth and it's been so bad he's on his second dose of Calpol - although the first lot came back up straight away.

He's so miserable :(

I've just looked and according to the app harrison is at the end of his 4th leap and ive gotta say these last few days has been brilliant. He's come out of it a different baby, happy and smiling pretty much all the time.

I'm so not looking forward to the 5th leap charging in and changing it all :( There's not long at all between these 2 leaps s there.

Just looked up to see him looking at me with his big blues and and huge smile.....melts my heart.

xxxx

I just cant do anything to appease him at the moment. I cant feed him all day no matter how much he would like me to!! I've just given him some home made apple puree that I made last week...he devoured it and is now busy chomping on the spoon watching sponge bob square pants! Crikey, I think he has actually been quiet for a whole 15 mins now.

I truly hope he settles down before nursery starts...I feel like a rubbish mummy today and I have a headache from a full on cry I had earlier. Not like me at all...looking forward to DH getting home tonight...xx
