***April & May Mummy & Baby***

V&B - are you doing that Gillian Michael's shred...?!?! She is an evil woman lol!!! I got to Level 3 and just couldn't keep up the work outfits..it was killing me lol!! xx

Day 1 done, not as unfit as I thought! Muscles will ache like he'll no doubt.

Baby is still cooing away she should be asleep! She's having a very chatty day today she's not shut up yet.

I'm a very bad mummy when it cones to weaning she didn't have anything yesterday :o

Need a shower but don't want to disturb her.

I only give Evan food when he is happy or when I'm having something suuitable for him - so not a lot of the time when all I eat is cakes and biscuits. She's still getting all her nutrition from you so weaning is all about exploring and playing.

I am neurotic mummy today. Arranged a call from the doctor for tomorrow for Evan. I think it is more than just being miserable, he gets hiccups a lot and sounds like he is swallowing things back down so maybe the gaviscon isn't working anymore.

Just nursed him to sleep. It's the only way he'll go down without a fight. Just a shame it doesn't work everytime but it's not a good habit to be in...

Was considering taking him to baby massage today but after his major grumps this morning I'm not so sure. It's on at 11 so depends when he wakes from his nap...

Chezza yep that's the one, started it last year then found out I was preggers so only got to day 5 lol

Amy I know it's about playing just know I need to be more consistent with it, she loves playing and smashing it up and humming the hell out of it. She can have banana at lunch today nice and messy think I'll have to pop the heating on to strip her.

Well she's missed that nap completely can't believe it she's been fab for a few weeks. Ah well cuppa and a play then try again will stick her in the jumperoo and let her wear herself out.

Looks like baby massage is off today. I told myself that this week I would get to at least 2 groups, seems little man has other plans...

Thanks, Jolly. My mum is coming to stay at the end of the month, so OH & I will get an evening out just the two of us.
I think it's true, nothing much has changed for OH but my whole life. is different now. It's hard to switch off from mummy mode ever.
Am going to start weaning at the end of the month. E's starting to get really interested in my food.

We're off into town today & will be going on the train for the first time. Wonder what E will make of it!

They always have there own agenda don't they, just when you think you've got one thing sussed they go and change it.

I'd love an evening out me and OH but after the episode the other night when she was with daddy I haven't got a hope in he'll of leaving her with anyone. Might have to settle for an afternoon somewhere.

My God this baby doesn't want to sleep today! So frustrating after we had morning and lunchtime nap nailed!

Looks like a walk in the rain in a bit, need to walk the dogs anyway so fx she'll sleep then.

Well last night was a fail. I put jack in his cot and he wriggled and kicked and made lots of noise for at least an hour. I got fed up and put his Moses basket in his cot and put him in that. I'm not kidding u he fell asleep within minutes!! Will keep trying him tho every night. He didn't cry just chatted and grumbled. Stubborn little monkey that he is!!! Xx

Well she's down had to rock and boob at the same time but she's down on our bed.

Isn't it annoying when they won't just fall asleep in their bed like they're supposed to?! You read everywhere that you shouldn't get them into bad habits now that they need a crutch to be able to sleep, but it's so hard! I was getting E to nap in her bed during the day until the parents in law came to stay for 2 weeks. They always took her out in her pram when she needed a nap, which was great at the time, but now she needs that to fall asleep and 1) she's getting too big for her pram and I'll have to change to the buggy bit soon and 2) the weather's only going to get rubbish and I don't want to have to go out every day to get her to fall asleep. Will have to keep trying with the put her down, leave her, shush her and soothe her if she's grumping and as a last resort pick her up, take her back downstairs until the next yawn and then try the whole thing again. It's very long-winded, but I suppose it'll be good in the long run!

Am off into town in half an hour to meet a friend for a coffee. it's such a nice day here, cold but really sunny!

hello ladies :)

i agree with you chezza, men just don't seem to evolve as much as women! haha only yesterday me and OH had words. I was rushing round getting myself, H bag and H himself ready for his hospital appointment...all while OH sat and read a manual for his frickin' car....then when i complained about being late he said i shouldn't have taken so long getting ready! A few choice words where said, he soon apologised after the appointment :D

On the hospital front, H has been diagnosed as having a lactose intolerance. We have a plan of action which consists of weaning now, which to be honest i was surprised at. I'm to start with fruit and veg, introduce meats at 5-6 months and work at a established routine 6-12 months then they want me to slowly re-introduce dairy. We have another appointment at 10 months if all is going well we may be able to introduce the dairy then.

So we have started with a tablespoon amount of rice for breakfast? I have no idea if that's the right amount?! lol On the plus side he seemed to take to it ok, opened his month for most of the spoonfuls and ate the majority of it! My plan is to feed after his bottles rather than before, i still think at this age his milk intake is more important? I'll give it a few days of the rice then maybe think of doing the purees? Or should i wait longer?

This weaning malarky is complicated, can never tell which is the right way to attempt it! To be honest i didn't expect to be doing it this soon, i thought i had more time to read up hahaha

how is everyone's day going? It's miserable here so we've had a PJ day. H spent 2 hours napping on me this morning, it was lovely. Watching the rain hit the window, all snuggled up on the sofa with the little guy...bliss!

xxxx

I know what you mean Emma ive not got a clue with weaning. Rian hated baby rice but loves porridge he hates banana love apples and pears today were trying parsnip later. Xx

I have to admit that I'm loving weaning H! His enjoyment when he's tasting food is fab. I have the Annabel Karmel app and another weaning one and they are great. I'm giving H purée at half 3 and from this Saturday coming I'll introduce something for breakfast. I'll see how that goes and then introduce lunch and pudding. Slowly bit surely he is falling into his "nursery" routine. He'll be coming to work with me in the new year and knowing how the baby room routine works I'm trying to get H to follow it as soon as so it's not too big a change when he starts.

Also I give up with my OH. He kinda thinks because he goes to work and earns most of the money that excepts him from any duties at home!!! I'm turning into a right nag - which I hate! :( x

I enjoy weaning I'm just not organised enough.
Well apart from the lack of nap this morning we've had a good day, she took a couple of oz of expressed milk in a bottle :) she would have taken more but I only put 2 oz in there as I'm Fed up of wasting it.
Gave her some banana and melon at lunch :)

We've walked the dogs and Libby had a little snooze and is now sitting on her mat with some toys.
Could feel the strain in my bum muscles walking up hill after the squats this morning.

I need to exercise - in just not motivated enough!

Chezza am it right in thinking you where on the look out for vegi steam bags??? Well I found in asda to day microwave steam bags that you can put fresh or frozen veg in, you fold the top over and pop in the microwave for however long it says. I'm just trying it out on some carrot now. They where only £1 as well and you get 25 in a pack. :) very handy if they work.

I'm enjoying weaning too :-) He definitely doesn't like banana, but loves melon slices! Wondering what fruit slices to try next!

Yes I was looking for veggie bags stargirl...so far I have tried Waitrose, Sainsburys, Tesco, Morrisons and Asda!! Just M&S left now...thanks though hun :-)

I feel wiped out today...having been woken so early and JJ is not a happy bunny again...I hate LEAP time :-( xx

Evening ladies!

Hope you are all well!! Jolly & Shell I take my hat off 2 you guys trying for number 2...I think I'll wait a couple of years before trying!

Said farewell to my sis today...was sad at the airport, was a quick 2 weeks but we had great fun & she got to meet her nephew which was the main point:)! Won't see her again until next Sept by which point Rhys will be running about!!

And 22 weeks later I've got my period!!!! At last!!!! I had a feeling though...my back has been killing me all day and I've had a splitting headache! Happy to see it although wish it would go now that I've had my reassurance lol!

I've not started weaning Rhys yet but bought some stuff to get prepared! Think I'll give it a go next week...will see how it goes...he isn't really showing any interest yet though! Hmmm!!

Hi girls,

I love that we all seem to be going thru that same things - oh's being annoying, babies going thru leaps and trying weaning - at least I know I'm not alone!

I've tried T with some rusks. The first one he seemed to like and had a few sucks on it then pushed it away, the next few times I've tried he's not interested! I tried him with it manage with his milk but he was just spitting it out! I'll keep persevering tho! He's 5 months next Wednesday so I'm going to try some different foods from then, I've got the annabel karmel app ready :)

Have any of you had a night out yet? I'm really excited to have planned one next Saturday! A few drinks and some dancing :) Oh has a few days off so I'm taking advantage ;). I went out for hen do when T was 8 weeks and I was nowhere near ready and hated every second away from him, but now I'm ready to let my hair down, it's been well over a year since a night out, I hope I don't peak too early lol

T randomly woke up at 2am last night and had a bottle around 3.30am, very unlike him, I hope he sleeps better tonight, I'm knackered and surprised I'm still up lol

Xxxxxxx

Omg T has developed this awful moan! He's been doing since about 3.30am oh has gone into the living room!

Not a cry but a moan almost like he's singing? He keeps stopping and starting so I think he's going back to sleep then it starts again!

Grrrrr!!!! I'm going to finally feed him now, I hope he goes back to sleep!

Xxxxxx
