***April & May Mummy & Baby***

I've managed to get Scott to finish 3 5oz bottles already today! I have been putting him in his sling and walking around the house while he drinks and for some reason he drains the bottle! I'm so pleased, yesterday he drank 16oz the entire day and already today 15oz :D

tapatalkin

Go Scott!! He'll have a chubby little belly before you know it lol :-)

JJ has no appetite at all - he's only taken 10oz so far today...we are now on our third bottle, but he's fighting it :-(

Supposed to be doing our first sing and sign class tmrw...not sure to take him or not at the moment...xx

Chezza he might surprise you and be as right as rain tomorrow :)

She's asleep in her swing finally, off to put together lasagne for dinner :) actually might not be can't remember if I took bolognese out of the freezer :/

Poor jj chezza, hope he gets betta soon.

I got Ava a dressing gown for Ava after swimming from matalan its a lovely fleecy material pink Minnie Mouse!! She looks so cute in it!
Got Ava weighed today 15lb 15oz at 21 weeks. Told hv I have started on baby porridge and se said its fine just made sure I was aware to avoid certain things!
Any one else NOT doing baby led weaning??
Need to Make some purees tomorrow afternoon. Am using the annabel karmel book as a guide.
Think I may get the app.
Met my friend today for lunch and shopping :-) and brought my best friend a pandora bracelet for her birthday, hope she likes it.
Also brought my first Xmas present!

I hope so V&B - he's been so cranky today, poor little thing :-(

Thanks PB! When he hits 6 months, I am going to do BLW at lunchtimes - so he can get used to trying to feed himself and then feed him at dinner - hoping this might be a good mix of the two!

I have the Annabel Karmel APP - it's great! I made a few purees and popped them in the freezer in ice cube trays - I can just defrost a couple of different cubes as and when I need them :-) So easy to do as well.

I genuinely don't know where this year has gone...only 15 weeks til Christmas - yikes!! Exciting though :-) My wedding anniversary is in a couple of weeks time, so as soon as that's been and gone, the countdown to Christmas will officially begin in our household!! xx

Well I've only just realised that jack is goin through a leap. That explains his lack of appetite and his aversion to sleep and why we r getting a 4.30 wake up feed. Can't believe I didn't check my wonder weeks app! What a doughnut I am! Anyway he is very grumpy and we still have 21 days left!! Xx

That's a good idea, never thought of doing a bit of both to be honest.
She has had porridge last 2 mornings. Do you think I should do this for a week then introduce puréed fruit and veg? The only reason u ask is because the book is from 6 months. She is 21weeks?

Do you have plans for your anniversary?
Ours is end of sept xx

I introduced purees 7 days after I gave him baby rice. I don't give him very much tbh - just a couple of tsps worth to try new tastes and see what he thinks. The APP has a "First Foods" section before the proper food recipes start at 6 months - they are made up of a variety of purees. (She actually advocates early weaning from 17 weeks as long as you keep to clean / simple / plain fruit and veg.)

As far as our WA goes, it falls on a Tuesday (1st Oct) unfortunately...so I will cook us a nice steak / red wine dinner...but I think we are planning on popping to a new BBQ Smokehouse that opened up in town recently for a slap up lunch the weekend before :-)

How about you...?? xxx

Yet another day of the grumps for Evan. Nothing seems to be helping the pain from his teeth :(. We've had barely any naps today and it was a half hour scream before bed. I'm guessing I have another night of 2-3 feeds. Dunno how I'll have the energy for the drive up to Scotland on Sat...

Think I'm going to try madam with some apple tomorrow

She loved her porridge tonight :D

Just in bed feeding her she's nearly gone hopefully she goes down easier than last night.

Ladies, those of you who have started feeding baby rice/porridge, how long before your LO looked like they enjoyed it? Evan is on day 2 of baby porridge and I'm not sure whether he should be showing signs of enjoying it or whether he is not ready yet. Thanks xx

Sorry to hear you've had a rubbish day Amy :hugs:xx

Loved the photo of Libby on FC V&B...she is so darned cute!!

Had a real struggle putting JJ down tonight - he only had half his usual amount of milk throughout the day - had hardly any of his bedtime bottle and half his baby rice...cried for around 30 mins and eventually dropped off after we gave him a little bit of calpol. His chest sounds terrible and everytime he sneezes, he coughs too - his throat is now starting to get a bit raspy :-( Hoping he manages to get a good nights sleep...poor little thing.

How long do you leave it before a trip to the Dr...? I don't want to come across as this OTT mum...but if there is something else I can do for him, that I'm currently not, then I would prefer to know! xx

Yikes if you don't check this for a day you have about 5 pages to catch up on:lol:!!

Chezza hope JJ is getting better? It's horrible seeing them unwell!

Amy did your bouncer arrive? Rhys loves his!

HV was out yesterday for routine check up and weighed him he is now 19lbs 6oz lol! Couldn't believe it!

Defo need to start shopping for winter clothes...he is growing at such a rate we are starting to run out of things to put on him! I love next for baby clothing, but also Matalan, asda, primark & m&s! They all have lovely stuff! Although my bank balance doesn't appreciate next as much:lol:

Teething is causing a grumpy baby in this house at the min...it's such a shame for them:( wish we could take the pain for them! Only good thing is it's not affecting his sleeping he's still going 20.00-07.00am!

Popped into work today for a wee visit with LO...nice to see everyone but also nice to leave:) not back until march but I know after xmas it will fly in:(!

Chezza the year has just disappeared...it's scary! I have a sis that moved to Australia in Jan...shes back next week for a fortnight and it will be the first time she meets Rhys....can't wait:D

Hope all ladies & babies are well...I try post as much as I can but never seems to happen as much as I'd like lol

xxx

P.S. Amy defo winter clothes for your visit to Scotland...it's freezing and miserable here...as usual:lol: x

The bouncer arrived and he had a go in it. He was just bouncing away and completely ignoring me! He didn't quite reach the floor so had to put some cushions under for him.

Cheers Chezza :)

Libby lived her porridge today but yesterday wasn't that bothered about it. As its not a meal it's just getting her used to tastes it doesn't matter if she eats it all up or has a spoonful.

I would say that Evan has not yet had 1/4 of a spoonful in the 2 days. Just not sure whether to persevere or to hold off for a week or two. It's a shame as he is feeding loads at the moment and I don't think I'm keeping up with him at night.

JJ seemed to like the taste of BR immediately, but didn't really get into the swing of it until about day 4. Now he beams at me when he sees the bowl and spoon :-) xx

That sounds lovely! Will def have a look at the app thanks:-)
We're not married, but will be 8 years that we have been together. Am not sure what plans we have yet, he is off sea fishing in the actual day. He has mentioned a night away in bath but I'm not ready to leave Ava yet. :-/

Night night babies xx

Will be interested to see what the other ladies say as Ava is on day 2 also, she just pulls a funny face lol. Although she opens her mouth ready for it. We do the " mummy has some and daddy has some, Callum has some, now Ava has some" LOL x
