***April & May Mummy & Baby***

Evening ladies!
Been an epic couple of days and nights, Santiago is being really difficult and not sleeping well, didnt go down til 10:30 lastnight with alot of screaming until then. The last few nights he falls asleep amd then wakes up 10mins later screaming. I sometimes get wind up but hes usually so good with wind, i dont think its that thats bothering him. His teeth seem fine at the moment too so i have been pulling my hair out.
On top of that, Lina has started waking for nightfeeds again, so i have had them tag teaming for feeds all night and i dont get any long periods of sleep. Cranky mummy.
They are both more demanding in the day too, and i get very cranky babies at least a couple of times a day. Santiago had the worst screaming fit i have ever witnessed yesterday and i dont even know why

On the plus side, they are also giggling alot more and showing real enjoyment in things.
This evening we stopped at a bar during our dog walk ( as you do in spain!) babies on laps. A lady passes with her dog, stops so it can play with our dog, santiago watches them, then just starts loudly giggling! It was so cute!
So i guess the unsettledness is due to a development phase.

Anyway.... 4 months old today!!!

Happy 4 months, beautiful twinnies! Hmmm, sound like your two might be going through the dreaded 4 month sleep regression...? It doesn't usually last too long though apparently...fingers crossed for you! xx

Oh, and still no joy with them taking a bottle at all. They just wont even try, they just scream!
I will be breastfeeding for 2 bloody years at this rate!

Have you been trying to bottle feed them or have you got your OH to try? When I first tried with Evan he pushed it away cos he was looking for my boob and didn't want this non-boob thing near him. He gave in though so I can mix some expressed milk with his gaviscon. When DH feeds them I have to be out of the room xx

They wont take it from him in another room, no :( That causes the worst fits. They wont take expressed or formula. Tried 3 different bottles. Tried when theyre really hungry, not so hungry etc. nothing works. Same with dummies, they wont even attempt to hold one, tried 4 different sorts. Theyre so fussy!

I'm worked about Ella not wanting a bottle. I want to get a hand pump to express so I can go on longer cycles & stuff, but knowing my luck she wouldn't even take it!
Nikki you had the same due date as me and we're in a leap at the moment. There could be up to 33 days more of grizzly babies sorry to tell you.

Emma, your clothes are so cute! Think I might get Ella a dressing gown for after her swimming lessons. Or what do you do with Libby, V&B?

Knopk, can't believe Mark attacked you! Hope you are ok & your eye heals ok.

I got back from my run just as it was starting to get dark! So depressing that summer has gone already! Poor E was having a cry when I got in. A walk in her pram didn't sort her out. Finally sorted her out with boob & she was in bed by 9. Wonder how long I'll get before she wakes up for more milk?

Thanks all :) Cant believe its 4 months!

Poor josh, hope he is better soon xxx

Omg! I'm in shock! H was in bed asleep for 8:15! He woke for a feed at 2am and then just now at 6! Wow! He's never done that before! I had to get up a few times to pop his dummy in but the dummy worked. I didn't have to nurse him. I feel fab! :) though I'm sure it'll just be a one off! X

Thanks Nikki! Hope your babies slept well last night!

That's great Stargirl!! Go Harry!! :-)

I was expecting JJ to be up half the night with his cold - but the little munchkin slept for 12 hours solid! He normally goes for at least 10, but this cold has obviously knocked him for 6. His breathing was a little easier last night though - he wasn't wheezing as much and seemed to be able to breathe through his nose better - can highly recommend the calpol vapour plug ins!

All plans have been cancelled today - and we are staying in our PJ's for snuggles :-) xxx

Morning all,

The slippers were a pressie from her uncle from Chester zoo :)

Knopk ouch! Hope it heals soon

Happy 4 months twinnies and hugs to there mummy.

Chezza give JJ a squish from me.

The place we go is lovely and warm so just straight into the changing rooms wrap up in a towel and dry off get her ready first then me.

Morning ladies,

Knopk I missed the bit about your injury, sounds really painful hope it heals quickly.

Stargirl fingers crossed its the start of H sleeping through.

Nikki I'm not sure if I wished your babies a happy 4 months of not HAPPY 4 MONTHS!! Lol xxx (sorry it's late)

Chezza I hope JJ is starting to feel better now, sounds like me might be on the mend :)

Well last night was different. H was in bed asleep at 7.30 promptly woke at 8pm crying poor little pudding wanted his bottle. He wasn't due on but I think it's become routine for him to have bottle before bed, not before bath. Anyway he then woke at 2am for a feed, drank a full 6oz then slept til 7.30 had a bottle and he's currently waking from his morning nap!

Quick question ladies. I changed his teats to size 3 as he stopped finishing his bottles, he began only drinking 3-4oz. With the size 3 teats he's finishing 6oz bottles. He's not choking, and milk isn't pouring from him mouth but he does have milk in the corners of his mouth when drinking. Does this mean the flow is too fast? I don't recall him having this when on the size 2 teats :/

I sound like a right plonker lol sorry ladies

Xxx

I'm sure he'd let you know if it was too fast for him :)

I had a nightmare getting madam in bed last night, she fell asleep easily but cried really upset every time I put her down took me over an hour :( she woke at 12, then 4 then 6 then 8.

She's in her cot shouting her head off, I'm showered just got to get madam ready and wait for my brother we're doing something but don't know what yet.

Evan must be on a growth spurt, despite a tiny mouthful of baby rice last night he needed feeding at 10, 2, 5, 7.30 and 8.40! Not sure my boobs can keep up. So tired mummy again, but at least the insomnia was only a one night side effect.

Off to Sainsburys in a bit to stock up on warm clothes for our trip to Scotland on Sat.

V&B - Go Libby :)

Aww sorry to hear some of you have had bad nights.

Amy has your door bouncer come yet?

I got H some warm sleep suits yesterday for when we go Scotland in December. I bought 3-6 months hoping they will fit him still.

Chezza - hope jj picks up soon.

I've just had to run out and get H some nappies as we were getting low, my mum watched H for me. Now in home I think we're going to be lazy and snuggle on the couch all afternoon. X

I've managed to get Scott to finish 3 5oz bottles already today! I have been putting him in his sling and walking around the house while he drinks and for some reason he drains the bottle! I'm so pleased, yesterday he drank 16oz the entire day and already today 15oz :D

I had the most nightmarish morning! Was taking Ella out for a walk, so got ready, got her in the pram and put the plastic cover over as it was raining. I put my house keys in the changing bag, then decided last minute not to take the bag as it would get wet, but forgot the keys were in it and closed the door!! OH was at work and no one else has a spare set. At least I had Ella out of the house with me and had shoes and a jacket on!! Anyway, I remembered a friend telling me to make sure I double locked the front door as otherwise you can get in with a card, so rang the neighbour's bell to borrow a card from them. Tried doing it but it didn't open the door. Went round to the friend's house who'd done it before but only his wife was home. She'd seem him do it but hadn't done it herself. We tried on her door but it didn't work. Then phoned another friend who'd done it at her parents' house before and she came and tried. She couldn't do it on her door or mine eiter, but when I had a go, I managed to do it!!
Was really worried I'd be locked out until OH came back from work just wondering round in the rain!!
Ha ha! Hope everyone's had a better morning than me!

Yay Scott and Tambo!

Well went out with bro, got to the shop saw a nice hoody in the sale went to buy it, left purse and phone on table outside back door! Ooooops little bro walked back and got them for me, thank god they were still there and it hadn't rained yet!

She fell asleep on way home then woke up when I got her inside just fed her changed her and popped her into her big girl cot again as she's still shattered. It's quiet at the minute, bug tbh I don't expect it to work again.

I'm laid on my bed listening for her. She's chattering to her mates on her mobile lol I'll leave her to it.

Aww V&B bless her talking to her friends! Have you noticed how babies always sleep on the move yet as soon as you step foot in the house, *bing eyes open* and there awake even though there still tired! Lol It's like a race against time to get your coat off! Lol

I'm not sure whats wrong with harrison today, he's so grumpy :( i think the 4th leap has caught up with him, great. That or the bigger teats are giving him belly ache, so i'll keep an eye on him. He's currently napping, for how long is anyones guess, so i'm gonna try and eat before he wakes up! Lol

xxx

Well 20 mins in she's still shouting think it's time to call it a day :(
