***April & May Mummy & Baby***

Brought some baby rice today ready for Rian to try!! Feeling pretty clueless when it comes to weaning and then the postie brings me a 5 step weaning plan from cow and gate which has helped. I so glad i joined all these things online when preggers lol.

Littlemans not himself today hes only had 4 bottles and by now hes normaly had his 5th bedtime bottle. Hes asleep now could be a long night. Xx

Mine came today too! Lol lots of good info inside it.

Evening ladies,

You don't check in for a few hours and the thread goes wild! I'll have to give it a catch up later. This is just a quick update/jump for joy if you like. Harrison is in bed!

That sounds silly, but he went down at 7.30, I've given him a cuddle and I've had to pop his dummy in a couple of times but he's a sleep now! Only a few weeks ago he wasn't going to sleep til 10pm! Fingers crossed that's him for tonight, well at least until his AM feed. Yay happy happy mummy :)

Not as early as JJ aye chezza lol but were getting there ;) xxx

That C&G weaning guide is great. Have a read of Annabel Karmel's website too - she also has an APP you can download for a couple of ££ - with lots of recipes and advice.

To start with, mix 1 x level tbsp of baby rice, with another formula / breast milk to create a nice edible consistency (not too runny) and be prepared to get messy - its great fun! Just don't take it too seriously and let him play around with the spoon as well. Don't worry about purees yet - not until Rian is comfortable with the BR and is swallowing everything you give him. If he pushes his tongue to the front of his mouth, pushing the food out, he may not be ready. If he enjoys it and wants more, try a little puree in about a weeks time - just a couple of tsps. worth to get him used to different tastes etc.

I made some apple, pear and apple & pear purees and froze them in ice cube trays to defrost as and when I need them - quite handy :-) xx

Yay!! Well done hun - that's great :-) JJ was a bit unsettled tonight after a bit of a grouchy afternoon - this cold is really getting him down. Hope he wakes up feeling a lot better or I might have to think about taking him to the Dr...?? He has started shaking his head when he coughs and whilst I know that can be a symptom of teething, I'm worried it might be an ear infection developing alongside this cold...?

Hope H has a good nights sleep! :nap: xxx

Hey chezza sorry to hear JJ is still poorly :( poor little buba.

Personally i would take him to the doctors just for a check up. They can check his ears and hopefully give you more advise on how to make him comfortable?

Just an idea but if he's coughing at night would it be worth having his cot propped up slightly? I don't know about you but when I get a chesty cough it always seems worse when i lay flat, it might help him feel a bit more comfortable? That's if you haven't already thought of that of course :)

Harrison has just had a little bit of a moan, popped his dummy in and he's asleep again. But I think he has a touch of belly ache, he's not pooped today and last time he did poop it was very hard so I'm thinking he's constipated, yet again :(

Xxx

Horrible day here. Evan is still not getting any relief from the teething granules and gels. He's also been sick loads today and straight after I gave him some calpol. It's really heartbreaking as I can see he is in pain and there is nothing I can do.

Given up on baby rice for now, i'll try again when we get back from Scotland. I don't think he was overly interested anyway.

Anyone else notice with teething that LO is grabbing their head? I think he may have a headache with it but not sure.

Am not looking forward to teething. Must be awful for you to not be able to help H, stargirl.

My poor baby has been so sad all this evening after her injections. Got her to bed at 9 and she's still asleep. Hopefully she'll just try & sleep it out as I could really do with a good night's sleep after E waking up midnight - 3am last night crying.

I've got a sore throat too. Really hope it doesn't materialise into anything. Would be gutted if I couldn't do my triathlon on Sunday.

Good night everyone. Hope you all have lovely long sleeps!

Well ladies a very indulgent post but jack is 6months old today!! Where the bloody hell has the time gone?! And I'm very pissed off with my oh!! This is the first morning that jack has slept past 6 o clock all week as he is currently going through a leap. So what does my oh do. Wake me up for sex! At 6.05 am. With the comment, well ur always so tired at night!! I could've punched him in the head. Along with me having an absolute banging headache after yesterday's dentist work and being so tired I (embarrassingly) burst into tears!! He didn't know what the hell to do. I'm led there half naked crying my eyes out!! He dresses me then gives me a big cuddle and asks me if I want him to take the day off from work. I said no but actually meant yes but I made him go to work! I do really suffer from migraines but this is the first really bad one I've had since getting jack home. So we will see how I cope. My mum is just up the road if I need her tho because they do make me physically sick. Anyway sorry for the long post. X

Happy 6 months little Jack xx Wow...that's gone so quickly! Sorry to hear your OH has been a bit selfish this morning :-( Hope your head is much better soon.

I've been up pretty much most of the night...not with LO, but with OH. He has been snoring really badly and despite going downstairs to sleep on the sofa, I can still hear him - he is that loud! He thinks he has caught JJ's cold - great...so that's him with man flu and me with no sleep for the next week. Sounds harsh, but his snoring has always been a huge problem - I wore earplugs every night up until LO came along and I obviously cant now...it just feels like I am destined for a life of little or no sleep.

We are going through another rough patch at the moment - we always seems to be getting at each other and fighting - and its starting to wear us both down again. To be honest, things have been quite tough for the last year ever since his parents started kicking off at us...(long story - I posted in "The Girlies Room" (for privacy) section not so long ago about it) - I truly hope our marriage is strong enough to survive - but whilst everything is still unresolved and I sit wondering what his mother will try and do to us next, it's so hard.

I have a fun day ahead - dentist appt this morning, lunch with my mum, then my food shopping is being delivered this afternoon. Rock n roll! xx

Couple of days can really make a difference Amy, I'm sure your lo will enjoy the baby rice when your back from your trip.

Happy 6 months jack! That's flown! Sorry you've had a bad morning brandnew - these OH's of ours haven't got a clue, have they? My OH doesn't get how tired I am at times nor the fact that sex is the last thing on my mind when I get a few spare minutes - sleep is!

Chezza my OH snores and there are many times I just want to elbow him in the face at night! But I don't! I'm so sorry your in laws cause you such heartache at a time in your life that you should be celebrating. Keep all forms of communication open with your oh and stay strong Hun and I'm sure you'll work through it.

H had a bit of a better night. He slept from half 8 till 1:40 and then 2:20 till 4:50! He then woke a 6 for a feed and then was falling back asleep when he poo'd! He's finally just drifted back off, lay on the bed next to me, holding my hand. I love moments like that :) xx

Chezza I def agree to keep talking if possible. When Freddie was born we had such a rough time with each other and at one point I was convinced he didn't want to marry me!!! The only thing that has helped is being honest, I realised that there were things I was doing (or not doing - I hate washing up!) that were irritating him that I had no idea about.

Anyway, it's different when someone else is involved especially family, but I'm sure your marriage is definitely strong enough to endure it. Sad post :-( definitely a day for you to be cheered up (but not with my poddlepod prize!!!) ;-) xxx

Thanks stargirl & Jolly :-) (I'll try not to be too smug when I win that poddle pod voucher!) Lol xx

Life really is too short for all this cr*p - I just wish we could get on with our lives without the fear and worry of what his parents will do next. It's a horrible thing to have hanging over our heads.

Anyway, will try not to dwell on it...although the weather outside definitely matches my mood today lol! Have a good Friday everyone xxx

Brandnew: have you ever tried Accupuncture for your migraines? I used to get them to the point of being sick too. I had a few rounds of Accupuncture (paid for by my health insurance here fortunately) & haven't suffered for over a year. I would really recommend it.

Poor you Chezza. Not sure what to suggest about the snoring. Has he ever tried those breathe easy strips? Or ever been to the doc about it?
Hope things start to pick up for you soon.

I'm not feeling so great today. Have a sore throat & keep feeling like I might be sick. On the plus side, E had a good night's sleep & is fine after her jabs yesterday.

Happy six months Jack.. :)

Both Graces bottom teeth are through, think im a bit of a loser for posting the pic on fb but awww, so cute. lol.

bit blurry but here we gooo!

Happy 6 months BN.

Well packing hell awaits me later. Managed to get Evan down for a nap (bloody miracle!). He went to bed at 8 last night and was up at 11, 12.20 then made it to 5 and then up at 8.30. He's not even hungry though, just wants a nce comforting boob. All I need is a boob shaped dummy and I'm sorted. Did have a completed meltdown at 12.20. I must have just got into a deep sleep and I'm a wreck when woken too soon. DH had to take over while I sobbed in the bathroom and whined that there is no chance we would be able to go to Scotland tomorrow. Didn't help that the Calpol I gave him came straight back up either...

Wish me luck ladies...

Oh no, poor you, brandnew. Hope your OH comes home soon so you can have a night off from baby duties.

Libby is so cute! She's so dinky!! Ella got weighed and measured today. She's 5.5kg (average) and 62.5cm long (above average) and they commented on how big her feet were!

Poor little mite is out for the count.

Enjoy your toad in the hole V&B - we've got spag bol!

My HV wont measure Grace again until a year old because they dont do it unless they feel something looks wrong.. how strange is that!

Amy just a thought - are you ising calpol with colouring? Not that it would solve problems but maybe he is reacting to the colouring?

Tapatalking so cant see signatures

My HV don't measure any more either, well not until a year old like yours ceecee. I measure H myself, when he was born they measured him with a paper measuring tape and I got to keep it. So every 4 weeks or so I measure him then on the back of the tape measure I right his age, length and the date. When he's out grown it i don't know what I'm gonna do! Lol

Xxx
