~*~* September Mummies 2017 - The Final Hurdle! *~*~

Ohh dear, that's not good that they've lost your notes. Surely they have a back up copy?

They said that any discharge notes from the hospital are all electronically on their system, but any scan notes wouldn't be but I don't seem to have those. There is a possibility I've misplaced them somewhere because I didn't actually look at my notes before going in yesterday but I think they've fallen out whilst there to be honest. They didn't seem bothered though...

To those who've had sweeps before - is it normal to have brownish bleeding afterwards, struggle to stand upright and have shooting pains in the vagina/lower pelvis while moving and walking? I know I was told to expect some discomfort but it's actually getting MORE uncomfortable as the day's gone on...

I had one last week and did have quite a bit of pain and bleeding but if it's getting worse it might have bought labour on?! Fingers crossed for you!

Immediately afterwards it was like a shooting pain in my cervix/vagina while moving, then I had some mild cramps and aching similar to when your period starts when I went to bed last night. Today throughout the day the shooting pains have gotten worse and feel almost constant, but more intense when I stand up or walk, but no stomach cramps, contractions or BH that I can notice. My back does hurt though after going for a walk today and sometimes my BH take the form of back pain.

Old brown blood type discharge when wiping started early this morning and seems to be sticking around, though hasn't gotten worse or changed yet.
I also now have an upset tummy after being ravenously hungry all day!

Eep

Ffo it sounds like things are heading in the right direction !!
I need this baby here I'm struggling hard today and oh is back to work tomorrow so I'm on my own with the kids. Xx

Oh elfs I hope the kids take it easy on you!

I'm gonna have a warm Bath and see if that helps.. OH needs the baby here sooner rather than later as he has assessments and interviews for a job promotion in a few weeks!

Ohhhh I hope this is it for you ffo!

Elfs, feel your pain with kiddies. We've been manic all weekend so not had the chance to chill and it's back to the usual me and the boys tomorrow. It's going to be a loooooong day :nap:

Kumber everyone seems happy to take my daughter for the day but no one wants to take the 14 month old and he's the crazy one ! Xx

feeling your pain with being exhausted looking after other little ones..my little boy is a wild one! always needing to be taken out to keep him amused and burn off all his energy. He's running jumping climbing and chaises chaos in the house otherwise! phewww being heavily pregnant with all that is not ideal.
Feeling fed up and want this baby out now!
Hope everyone is feeling okay and that we all have our babies very soon. I'm due on the 9th but goodness knows.
I've been feeling pretty rubbish with headaches, feeling hot ALL THE TIME, sore and I've had some show come away. Other than that nothing down below..a few stabby pains in the evenings.
It's my second baby, do you think they'll be here earlier? I always had it in my head they would! X

This is my third and longest pregnancy !! Ds has been awake since 4 am and dd is being a pain today. I'm exhausted and it's not 10 am yet I need to go sort the dogs out as well but ds needs a nap. Any baby news ? I need to feel completely jealous about newborn cuddles. We booked a weekend away last night as it's my partners uncles 60th we're heading to Doncaster to celebrate so have got two nights in the hotel. May go via Leeds as that's where my partners from and webe never been. Trying to find Hingis to look forward to rather than concentrating on the fact there's no baby yet xx

Blueberry I've been feeling a lot of what you're feeling the last few weeks... I started losing my plug about 3 weeks ago and nothing.

I'm still pregnant, still in pain and still feeling sorry for myself at 2 days overdue now. OH is off to work in a second until midnight and I just don't want to be home alone :(

Got an appointment for 2.30pm at the hospital to go back on the monitor, and it's gonna take me hours to walk a 5 minute road because how much I hurt.. I spent all of yesterday and last night in agony thanks to the sweep which has since eased off a bit this morning, but it was so painful I thought I was going to tear in half just sitting on the toilet :(

I'm with you on the pain, fine sitting down but getting up and walking is agony. He's right down on my bladder and keeps whacking my cervix. I had a wee bit more show last night but nowt else. Convinced myself now that this is it for the next week and a half, and I'll be induced. DS1 was here by now :wall2:

Sooo... I had a good day yesterday as I just relaxed myself and forgot about labour for all day which did me good! But it started again this morning, had a cry and been feeling crap all over again, waiting for symptoms and actually been having some sort of contractions with back pain for the last couple of hours but they are not getting worse. No sign of a show but had quite a lot of (TMI sorry) watery+ creamy discharge, it is weird because often I feel like something is literaly dripping down there (been like this for a good couple of weeks) and not sure if this is just discharge or a little wee, not a lot, it is like I peed and forgot to wipe kind of wetness. It is so confusing!

so.. wanted to share with you my eventful antenatal appointment today.
Firstly the baby is lying on its back. so if I was lying on my back looking up, the babies doing the same. using my spine as a hammock she says..as it's comfortable apparently. I have legs and arms either side spread out. greeeeaaat 👍🏼🙈🙈 not sure if that means complication coming out? Does anyone know or had the same?

then I've still got static growth. still measuring the same each time so midwife thinks babies done.
I've got to go to hospital Wednesday morning and if the weight is the same as before I'll be having a sweep there and then. if the weight is lower than the expected static weight then they'd say induction 🙈 so Wednesday could be eventful! if everything seems okay though they'll leave me up to a week after due date and induce me (if I hadn't gone into labour myself by then)
I had an attempted sweep with baby number 1 but they couldn't do it so I haven't actually had one before so really nervous. am I going to cry?! Lol
Also so scared for possible induction. I wanted a water birth like baby 1, and I'm so scared I'll be stuck in hospital for days being away from my little boy :(
Do I take my bag? I'm just freaking out a bit :/ x

What a day blueberry! Did you get my message? Determined to get you into the Facebook group!

Don't be nervous about your sweep, mine was much better than I expected it to be.

Baby sounds back to back which makes for a harder labour for you, however, second babies onwards have lots more room to move around so they can wriggle into place during labour. So basically, don't worry about it at the moment. Spend as much time leaning forward as you can, on birthing balls, coffee table, or similar, or get on your hands and knees, so baby has enough room to flip around to the side.

Yes, take your bag just in case so you have it with you at least.

Blueberry I'm similar as baby has been back to back as well, though this is my first so that doesn't bode well! He is head down and engaged though, but back to back has made his movements really strong to the point where sometimes his kicks hurt.
I've had two sweeps and although they are very uncomfortable, it's managable if you breathe. After the first I had lots of shooting pains in my cervix/vagina though and some brown blood loss so don't be surprised by that! I'd definitely get the doctor/midwife to talk you through what it is, how they do it, what to expect as I had no idea!

An update from me -

I went to my appointment at 2.30pm today to monitor baby's movements. Not only were they almost two hours over due to being busy, but I've only just got home..

Basically, baby's movements and HB are fine, but the monitor showed I was having contractions (6 in 30 minutes, about 5-10 minutes apart, that continued into the waiting room and are still happening now), but I'm still only 1cm dilated so not in labour and not bloody close to being in labour either. The doctor gave me another sweep during the exam.

My blood pressure was slightly elevated for the second time this pregnancy (first time being only Saturday but was perfect before then) so because I also had a headache they took some blood to monitor for preeclampsia. Mean. Bloods came back fine though.

After waiting for ages for the doctor to speak to the registrar regarding a plan of action, they decided that the slightly raised BP wasn't an issue as there were no other factors to worry about and to go to my normal MW appointment on Wednesday and monitor it. She apparently spoke to two registrars who both agreed that if I haven't gone into labour on my own to induce me at the end of the week, and she's going to call me apparently with a date for that.

She was so skeptical of my contractions and pain, and downright dismissive in the beginning. When I told her I'd been in pain since the sweep on Saturday her response was that pregnancy is painful and if I was having contractions 'I'd know'. I said the pain was largely in my back and low pelvis and she didn't really listen. On seeing the trace that showed I was regularly having spikes, she said OH there are some pains here... >.>
Then on leaving she said it could be referred back pain and I said well, my stomach goes hard and I have to breathe through them and she ignored that, just reiterated that I wasn't in labour (which, DUH, I knew)

So all in all not a great experience today, and no closer to having this damn baby.

I'm not really sure what to expect from here. I guess it's a matter of sitting and waiting for things to progress. I'm having pretty constant back pain but every now and again it'll get worse along with my lower pelvis and the top of my stomach gets hard and if baby moves at the same time it's agony. Here's hoping this second sweep will set things off overnight.. but that may be wishful thinking.

Just feeling very unsure about everything, and this woman was NOT reassuring and didn't explain things to me. She was more interesting in darting from patient to patient in an attempt to be off by 5.30pm (which she wasn't so HA)

My baby turned back to back within the last 24 hours before he was born, so I wasn't expecting it! The contractions were all in my back and were awful (but I'm sure they would have been in the front as well). I dilated to 8-9cm very quickly (that was the first time I was examined) but it then took 6 hours to get to 10 and push him out because he had to turn right way up, which he did partially. There are higher risks of forceps etc (which I avoided) and tearing/episiotomy (which I didn't - I had both!). But at the end of the day it doesn't mean you can't do it, and actually I had a good labour imo :)

Kumber thank you for your reply. I got your message thank you but strangely I still can't find you! Or the links don't seem to be working! I'm gutted, I'd love to be added!

I really hope baby does turn in time, scared me to death now!
I'm feeling really pre menstral, very heavy and a hey and sore down there. The stabby pains are terrible and keep making me jump up off the chair!
The kicks are painful which I agree with the previous comment about them being back to back making the kicks aggressive haha

Thank you I'll take my bag. I'm so worried about leaving my little boy though too. I haven't been away from him for his whole 17 months! x
