***** October 2015 Mummies ******

How do you know if youve got hemorrhoid?
I feel like I've got something swollen there but doesnt bleed or anything
I do definitely strain every time though so wouldnt be surprised!

Umm... mine is not sore or bleeding either but it kind of feels like a tiny blueberry attached to my butt (gosh, I really wish I knew a better way to describe it  ) It started of as a small swelling but recently got bigger.

Re. health visitor - we don't get them in Scotland prior to giving birth.

Glad you said that Karolina, i was wondering if i had missed something lol!

Scotland here too and no mention of HV coming out.

Karolina have you named your new friend :) the glamourous parts of pregnancy.

My pelvis is achy today & sleeping is not happening much .... 8 weeks to go !!! xxx

My new friend is a pain in the ass! It should remain nameless! x

8 weeks!! How crazy is that?! x

Ahahahaha!! Go on.., give it a name

Hehe @ pain in the ass!! Xx

Good morning! How is everyone today??

I am getting sick and tired of tossing and turning in bed GRRRR!!!! I usually sleep ok until 4-5am and then the madness starts :(

Also have been feeling more pressure and movement down below, I hope this is the sign of baby getting into the right position x

Piles suck, sorry ladies.

Gail, sounds like your little lump is a "quiet" pile. Anyone treating just remember they start from inside, so as icky as it sounds suppositories work far better than topical creams and gets, as you are only treating the ahem... tip of the iceberg as it were! There's a gross but very accurate pic on the handout I give my patients on this http://patient.info/health/piles-haemorrhoids

Germaloids are the best over the counter treatment I've found, and you can pick them off the shelf in the supermarket, which if you are self scanning makes for the least embarrassment (even the suppositories).

Karolina, I've had tons of pressure last couple of days, wonder if head is going into the pelvis? I will find out tomorrow at my scan :)

One positive thing for having a toddler who is still coughing for most of the night, is that I don't have any tossing and turning. When I can sleep and I am sleeping, but its hard with the 1-2hrs getting up in the night at the moment.

I did my second to last on call day yesterday, yippee! Not much longer at work to go, starting to wind things up with my regulars now.

I've just bought some nice nursing tops, there are some better ones out there than a few yrs ago. If anyone is looking at late maternity clothes, remember to get stuff with the opening panels!

Is anyone else feeling like they may pop before 40 weeks.....? Im starting to think i'll go early (cue me being 2 weeks overdue haha!!).

I wake up all night to pee, then mega early before my alarm, it feels like a muscle in my back is 'twisting' or going into spasm and i think it may be the weight of my bump.

Sorry for the woe is me post.... Back and pelvic pain make me feel sorry for myself LOL. On the plus side baby is wriggling away (it doesnt have room for anything else!). xx

Has anyone else just had the 'HOLY SHIT BATMAN' this is actually happening feeling ... or is it just me being a FTM lol!!! xxx

Hi Shelly, I have a feeling that I may go early; seems to be a tendency for it in my family!

I haven't yet had the big 'ermahgerd' feeling, but had little things that have made me think about it. I'll wait for the clanger.......!

Anyone else unable to resist the urge to check the August mummies thread and all the labour stories?!

Hi hope everyone's doing well, we don't have hv visits till baby's around 2 wks.

I got feeling I may go early as well, just feels as if baby is so low this time- hoping nothing happens b4 38 wks as it means emergency section.

Exciting seeing all the August babies arrive and there all so tiny x

Im starting to feel omg too shell
Washing his clothes last night i looked at the tiny baby stuff and thought oh lord you're gonna be so wee and fragile lol
Then i think of pushing him out and how ouchy thatll be and think maybe hes gonna be too big lol

Im starting to worry im underprepared for labour
I think im blissfully ignorant at how painful its gonna be !!

I had a feel today
I definitely have piles too. Boo :(

This is EXACTLY how I felt yesterday!!!

I do have a strange feeling that I may not last 40 weeks, we shall see

I'd like to go earlier purely to meet him sooner
But i like the sound of his birthday. 21st October
I dont want it the 13th. Friday 13th birthdays. Eek!
November is realistic too though if hes late. Which apart from me having to wait longer and grow bigger... November is a good month. It has my birthday, my mums birthday, my dads birthday aswell as my wedding anniversary!

I agree the 21st sounds a nice birthday, I'm sure there be lots if babies born pretty close together in Oct!

Its likely that I'll have a elective section around the 13th - I'm dur 22nd x

I had been thinking I'd go over and now I'm thinking I'll go early too- probably wishful thinking on my part though. My mum and two sisters all went over so all things considered I'll probably go over :)

Had my growth scan yesterday and the baby's head is now in the 85th percentile, slightly smaller than the last time so I'm pretty happy with that :)

Anyone try to paint their toenails recently? I managed to do it last night, couldn't believe I could still reach, even if it was a bit of a struggle :)

Managed it in Sat, sounded like I was having an asthma attack!! xx

Lets make a pact that no one goes overdue!

I went at 38+5 last time, so not expecting to get to term this time either

Well done to the nail painters, I tried to cut my very long toenails tonight and that was not pretty.

I had a sudden meltdown about how the f*** will I cope with 2 under 2 at the weekend! Maybe its just because Jess is ill at the moment, so much more clingy and needy than usual.

I thought I was gonna pop early last time, with me being so short and my bump being HUGE. But no, went into labour 4 days overdue, and had my DS by c-section two days later. So this time, I'm not even gonna let myself think I might go early!

Oliver was induced at 42 weeks! I know I wont go over with this little one due to Gestational Diabetes...I'm hoping I go into labour naturally and don't need to be induced again (even though my induction with Oliver was great).

I'm now monitoring my bloody sugars 3-4 times a day - they are all low readings and I'm hoping they continue to stay tis way...ive also been told that my consultant tries to get women as close to their due date as possible..but the placenta can start to fail from 37 weeks so I'll be getting regular checks.

Undecided now about maternity leave...I was going to work till 38 weeks but I want a little bit of time off before baby arrives. Looks like we'll be definitely having an October baby :) x

Shelley, I was the same, I kind of sounded like a wild animal in distress! I used one of those polishes that last extra long so I'm hoping it'll last me until September. My last paint was at 26 weeks so fingers crossed I get into closed-toe-shoe-time with this :) and if not, oh well, I'll just gave to deal with chipped toenails!

Bonfire bride, I can see your dilemma...maybe aim for week 36?

Morning peeps I am up at stupid o clock having a beef and tomato cup-a-soup :) I keep having days where I think god I'm ready now esp if I'm feeling like I'm going to explode! I'm a bit more relaxed now tho. I had my 32 week scan yesterday and she is getting big! tummy at 95th percentile, legs a little above average and head in-between average and large she is head down with her bum sticking out and facing down which is good (stay there please baby) little feet under my right ribs which explains the pain there.

Because she's shot up a bit they are having me back in for another scan at 36 weeks and if she is still big then will advise c-section..but Ihave been told that if she's averaged out again by then theres a good chance I will have a successful natural labour as I got to 9cm last time

...so still undecided Tues 8th will be Decision-day.

Anyway I hope you're all sleeping soundly - I'm excited I have lots of nursery purchases arriving soon as I got my ass together and bought some stuff (including new hair curlers for me which was naughty). I am totally stalking August mummies and indeed have been thinking more and more about labour..what might happen this time? Only time will tell x

That's all very promising Stacey - they seem to have everything under control for you. I hope you got back to sleep! Being up in the wee small hours is not fun!

I bought a TENS machine on eBay the other day and I think it's arriving today. It'll be fun to play around with it.

Like you, I'm stalking the August mummies thread - it's making everything seem so much more imminent!
