all the following foods are free as long as cooked without fat - you can eat as much as you like:
pasta
potatoes
beans
rice
eggs
fish
fruit
grains
lentils
lean meat
peas
veg
vegetarian products
fry light
cottage cheese
Each day you must have one Healthy Option A and one Healthy Option B
A:
250ml semi skimmed milk (or 350ml skimmed)
OR
28g of cheese
B:
bread - wholemeal 2 slices 400g loaf
OR
cereal - 28g of healthy cereal
OR
cereal bar
OR
tinned soup
all other foods are classed as syns (you can have 15 syns a day) - you can buy a book called the food directory which tells you the syn values of everything
sample day menu:
beakfast:
cooked breakfast - eggs,lean bacon,quarn sausages,grilled tomato and beans
snack:
apple
lunch:
sandwich - 2 slices wholemeal bread (HEB) cooked chicken,lettuce,tomatoes,cucumber and low fat mayo (4 syns per tablespoon)
snack:
bag of quavers (4.5 syns)
dinner:
homemade lasanga - lean mince, passatta,onion,garlic, then layer with pasta, cottage cheese and spinach, top with mozzerella (HEA) serve with jacket potato (butter 2 syns) and salad.
total syns for the day 10.5 (out of 15 allowed)
