May 2018 Mummies Trimester 3!

Aww Holli that's horrible. i did think it was a long time you were waiting to see the physio. My last pregnancy i couldnt stay on one side for more that about 20mins because of the burning hips and i know how awful it makes nights. Its not long to go now though especially if they can induce you as soon as safe to do so. It's amazing how SPD pain just disappears so you will be pain free soon, although i know even a week more must seem unbearable!

sorry about your dog too :(

Thanks Hun was emotional wreck with my dog I couldn’t breath for crying that much had to try and calm myself down especially for willow she was my fur baby as I didn’t think I’d be a mummy so she ment world to me. My GP wouldn’t send me for physio he said it wouldn’t make a difference but now I suppose I’ll never know, but least my Midwife over ruled him and sent me. I’m pleased you say the pain goes after labour it will be great to get to rest again I’ve forgot what it’s like to be comfy I’m just ready for her to come now the final stretch we can do it we’ve lasted this long what’s a few more weeks lol

So last night I didn’t sleep very good and every time I turned to try and get comfy it felt like my groin was popping out like it was dislocating and I couldn’t move till it popped back in really painful too not sure if that’s what it was but certainly felt that way seriously going to beg Midwife to be induced 37-38 weeks now next week when I see her

Sounds like you’re in a lot of pain Holly, I hope they agree to induce you a bit early.

Midwife told me on Monday that the baby has started to engage, and I can definately feel it, suddenly getting a lot of pain and pulling in my groin, bikini line and around my pubic bone. I’m hoping that means I’m not going to go to 40 weeks especially now I know baby is already on the large side. Boobs have started leaking a little bit too.

How’s everyone else getting on? Any early signs of action?

OMG! I think the baby is possessed this evening, it will not stop squirming about and it’s pushing so hard on my bladder and under my ribs! I can barely sit still myself. Any tips to calm it down?

Haha it’s great fun isn’t it? I rested my dinner plate on my belly last night she almost kicked it off, I said to lane I have no idea what she’s doing in there but she certainly takes after him as she never stops moving and he’s same he can’t just sit and relax he has to be doing something. Maybe get up and do something? They say if your moving about it rocks Baby to sleep it’s only when your doing nothing they start to move about, Willow moves more when I’m still but she does move when I’m walking about too she’s mainly on one at night though

i'm not sure that baby engaging means labour is imminent, they can be engaged for ages or not long at all! but hope for your sake it does mean baby will be a little early!

2ND and subsequent babies can pop in and out of being engaged all the time. i can tell because some times it feels like i'm holding a bowling ball in my privates and other times its more just in my bump.

my growth scan was fine yesterday, baby between 10th and 50th percentile in all measurements. So all that drama and going in for hopurs of monitoring and the steroids i nearly accepted...they say the scan must have been a 'blip'. I wonder how many other people take medication and even get induced early because of overcautious 'blips'. it certainly seems common people being told baby isnt growing. My next scan appointment isnt for 4 weeks , I was thinking 4 weeks? I'm not planning to be pregnant still in 4 weeks ! lol. but i guess that would still only be 38 weeks so i will be......it just seems like ages!

I have a midwife appointment with the homebirth team next thursday, i think i am more inclined to homebirth now after all is fine again and seeing how quick to medically intervene they are at the hospital......and how long it takes to get signed out to be able to leave!!!

oh, my church friend had her baby yesterday the day before her due date. i thought she still had quite a wait because she was feeling fine and not too uncomfortable . I was wrong!! Wish time would pass quick now!

When the midwife checks if you are engaged there is normally different stages until you are fully engaged I'm sure they measure it in 5th , she will write in your notes what stage you will be at. If I can remember I was fully engaged at 38 weeks but was 10 days late giving birth.

Brillaint news about your little lady liz all that worry you all had to go through and all for a blip! How could they get it so wrong x

I started packing my hospital bag and baby's hospital bag. I went on a shopping spree for baby yesterday and brought a the remaining items on my list including the things for me such as heavy duty pads and underwear for postpartum. I guess I was in the nesting mood because after getting home I packed all the towels, bibs, socks, hats, mittens, clothes (newborn sizes to 3-6 months), and everything that needs to be washed for baby so that I can wash them all soon. I'm ready to finish organizing everything else but I want to buy baby a dresser so I can place all his smaller clothes and towels in there. I also ordered a few things so just waiting for them all to get here. Nesting in full effect now lol

i dont know and actually i think it's pretty shocking if i had taken the doctors advice i would have taken 2 steroid injections to mature the baby's lungs prematurely. he had so assumed I would just do as i was told he had written out in my notes the medication and the amounts and dates they were given ready to be signed by the person who did them.

On a more positive note, my baby box is coming on monday! In scotland since last year everyone is entitled to a cardboard baby box which doubles up as a bed for the baby with a mattress in it , I think it comes from how scandinavian babies sleep and is supposed to really cut cot death not having fancy baskets etc. But its not just the box it is full of stuff like baby clothes 0-3 and 3-6, toiletries, thermometers, maternity pads , toys, muslins etc.

I've seen all the stuff in the baby box, I wish we had a good one like Scotland does. A lady from Emilys group had one for baby number 2 and she showed us everything that was inside. What made me laugh was the box of condoms lol :lol::lol:

You have been busy. I wish I was in nesting mode. Apart from washing Emilys baby clothes I've done nothing and I've only bought big knickers, 1 pk of maternity pads and a dressing gown for my hospital bag lol

Yes! I got the nice full sized ones lol I don't own much like that so I brought two packs so that should be enough.

ohh really  is that common during labor and delivery? I haven't had those problems before?

It just took over me yesterday lol we had a snow day so I was off of work. You have some good bits. There's still plenty of time. I just am a planner so if there is something I can do way in advance I will do it. lol this baby is no different

I think I'm just more laid back this time as with Emily I had everything bought, done and sorted by now lol its just aswell we kept all her stuff . Big knickers are the best especially after my c section. I even wore them for months after :lol:

i think the piles i got after my first baby was more painful than the labour itself!!!!

:eh: I didn't even think that would be something for me to worry about since I've never suffered from them before. I can't even imagine having to deal with that and postpartum recovery.:wall2:
