Sinead, lovely pic. I have total 4d pic envy now!!

Hayley, a bump buddy is someone who will do your labour thread for you when the time comes. You exchange phone numbers and update them by text/phone rather than trying to get internet access and post in the throes of contractions!

Has anyone had a visit from their health visitor at home yet? Mine is tomorrow. Just wondering what normally happens at this appointment? Xxx

I've got mine booked in for 1st April. This is my 3rd and not had one before I spoke to them today and they just said about the red book I've got this before when baby's born.

I'm in a new area now so guessing some places just do it differently. Let me know how you get on. Xx

Yeah fao I don't do things simple lol x

Omg if I posted all my life complications and issues current and past on here, you would think I am a right mess. Either that or a hero! Life goes on and you cope with stuff and just get on with it. Right? Otherwise, there is always Jeremy kyle, haha. But seriously, no. And not ever.

I've been down the childhood illness/hospital/life threatening condition route before with two of my children and it's not an easy road. Parenthood, eh!

Yeah definitely not easy, my outlook is that I stay positive, everything happens for a reason, although I may have had a rough time with some things, 1, there is always someone else worse off and 2, these things are sent to test you and make you stronger. No matter the obstacle that gets in my family's way, we have each other and for that I'm so grateful, my DH, DS and peanut are my world and no matter what challenge I have, I will smile and keep positive because I love then and know they love me and I don't know where I would be with out them. Sorry if that sounds really cheesy.

Hayley may I don't have a bump buddy either! I'm not due til the 15th but would be happy to be your buddy for the big day :D

I have been told about whooping cough but didn't know it was that bad???? I had my anti d jab and bloods 2 weeks ago and didn't seem that bad for them!!! Nervous now :(

It is entirely up to you if u get the jab or not , can I ask why ur didn't get it ? I had my anti d and bloods done at same time that anti d is a stinger like but the whooping cough was nothing at all didn't even feel it go in just was sore for a few days xx

I think it just depends how cold the anti d injection is as to whether it stings or not. It was a little bit annoying but certainly didn't make me not be able to lie on that arm. However, whenever I get heartburn now, which is often! My arm hurts where I had it done lol!

I didn't read Hayley's message like that - I'm presuming you're nervous as you're having it soon rather than didn't get it done? Or are you nervous because you didn't get it done? Confuzzled! Anyway everyone's experience is different - depends on the nurse too so you shouldn't worry too much x

No I was worried it will hurt lol!!! I don't think the anti d was bad the nurse had bigged it up and said ooo your skinny so u may want the leg but I stuck to arm and it was fine!! Just didn't look!! I see midwife tomorrow so she may mention whooping cough then!

X

Isn't it funny how a few of us prefer seeing a different midwife to our "assigned one"?! At my last apt I saw 2 lovely ladies who looked at my file and said "oh you're one of [insert name]'s ladies". Nearly blurted out "but I want to be one of yours!". They were all smiley and jokey but efficient with it. My assigned midwife was a bit serious and patronizing, and told me off because I had left some scan photos in my blue notes!

I have my WC injection in a couple of weeks, hadn't even though about it being hurty! I don't really mind them as long as I don't have to look at the needle. Maybe a legitimate reason for sciving off work the rest of that day though...

I still haven't met the midwife who's name is on my green notes; but the 3 others I've seen have all been very nice! X

I've seen different for every appointment I haven't worried about it!! I wonder who I get tomorrow!!

Haha well we have one mw in our drs surgery who's fine but not very sympathetic! Plus it means you have to book about five weeks in advance! I can't get in for my 31 week appointment so having to go hospital instead. Xxx

went to work today first thing I did was book annual leave (needs to be used up by end of month). 2nd thing I did was work out how many working days I have left.....only 16! horah! x

I got distracted at work today (happening A LOT!) so decided to make a maternity leave countdown on the computer, complete with pictures! One of the admin girls kindly laminated it for me and gave me a marker to cross the shifts off. 42 shifts to go!!!!! Should probably do some actual work tomorrow!!!

I have done exactly the same....17 days left for me! x

Lol sounds like you both had productive days at work haha! I've got 8 weeks to go and 2 weeks hols need using up before that.. Must decide when I'm taking them! Just got major road rage on my way home. I'm so tired and it felt like I was in a computer game or something, people driving at me and a stupid woman pushing her bike up the middle of the road!! Aaaaggghhhhh xxxx
