*** march 2015 mummys to be ***

Good luck Olya!

Yes Sarah go for it you won't regret it hehe!!

Nonabean that made me laugh (sorry!)
Xx

I was told that my results are not all that bad and they are happy to wait with induction until 39 weeks. I thought it would be as soon as 37, so that's a big relief! :) and even then they are not that strict about it providing my blood tests stay around the same mark.

Very pleased with the result! :) :) :)

This also gives me a better chance to make this little monkey turn the right way around!

I'll just need to think of something to do with myself for the next 3 weeks. I'm starting to get a bit bored (especially as I can hardly walk!), and I've only been on maternity for 3 days!

Thats great news I.love :) I know you have been worried about timings so I hope that has eased your mind x

Its great to see everyone on FB..thanks tiggy :)

Ive had the maintenance guy around today to sort out some niggles with the house, nothing major but wanted things sorted before baby. He was so lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Now we are off to asda to get the last of the baby/hospital bag stuff then its done! eeek!

Demaris thanks! Definitely! Now my parents can stay abroad for the next 1.5 weeks and not to worry that I will be induced before they are back.

Good luck with hospital bag shopping x

ILove that's fantastic news. So relieved for you. Fingers crossed everything stays stable for when your parents return from their hols!

Getting bored already! Are you able to go out for lunch and cake with your Boy or friends? That's what I love doing on mat leave!

Glad all ok I.Love.
Nonabean that made me laugh out loud! I hope you made it ok?!
Eeek I am sure my baby has done some mega almighty turn. My belly is sticking out much more than usual as well as feeling really stretched, and can feel baby all the way round from side to side. Also right up to under my bust. I have midwife tomorrow so will see what she says. I had done so well in half turning him lol, god knows what way he is now :( xx

Glad everything is okay Olya :)
Shopping for hospital stuff is hard work :( really feeling it now! Definitely going to turn into a recluse as soon as mat leave starts lol xxxx

More period pains for me tonight. They seem to be a nightly occurrence now, alwaY's in the evenings. Has anyone else noticed a pattern to their aches and pains?

Sounds promising Podpie! I've had pains but I've had them Sunday night, Monday morning and tonight so no pattern. I know that my mum said that before she went into labour with me she had pains at the same kind of time in the evening for a few nights in a row. Fingers crossed for you :) xx

Yes Podpie. I get really ouchy pains in the evening...not crampy pains but its the same type of pain that has appeared at same time, same place.....

Went to midwife today and baby is now 3/5ths engaged she was 2/5ths last time and I'm measuring 41 weeks I have a appointment for AC when I'm 40+5 the midwife said they will most likely offer me a sweep. I don't think baby is coming anytime soon I think I'lll end up getting induced x

Hi ladies! Not had too much time to get on here as having mum over is keeping me busy!
Nonabean your post made me giggle, hope they cleared out and you did too!

Podpie I'm getting impatient too, I'm due on Monday! Eeeek! No sign so far though but I can tell he is really low as its constant pressure now down there. Midwife tomorrow afternoon for 39&4 appointment and I'm on constant knicker watch waiting for plug to start coming.

Ilove glad to hear you have had some good news.
X

I swear I'm turning nocturnal...

At my last midwife appointment at 38 weeks baby wasn't engaged at all, so I'm hoping that by my next one at 39+6 next Wednesday he will have shifted at least a little bit. I do feel like he is lower down but it's so hard to tell because I felt like that last time and he still wasn't engaged, just curled up!
I'm absolutely convinced I'm going to end up needing to be induced like my sister was and the thought terrifies me. Not only because it's a harder labour but because my OHs parents have said they're coming to stayfor a week on the 15th (didn't even give us a choice) and if I'm induced it'll be while they're here which I really don't want.
They wouldn't intrude and come to the hospital or anything but I really really want to bring baby home and just be me, my OH and our little boy for a while. Not come home to a house full of people because they're bringing his younger sister too! It's making me so anxious but I don't feel like I can tell them not to come because they live so far away. And when I attempted to talk to my partner about the possibility of them staying in a hotel instead he just said "I'm not going to ask my family to stay in a hotel!" as if it was a ridiculous idea.
I really don't know how to get around it...I'm just really hoping baby makes his appearance sooner rather than later. Or I'll just refuse to bring my boy home until the house is empty and we can be our own family to begin with lol. I may just have to dig my heels in to get what I want. I just don't think my partner will understand how I'm feeling. ..

Ahh podpie, thats really inconsiderate of them. I remember when I had my two the last thing I wanted was visitors. Even now for me I am finding it hard to accommodate people who want to visit, even though they have the best intentions I still feel obligated to offer lunch or bake something etc if someone comes round. Its so tiring and people dont understand.

My dad comes round on a tuesday after his volunteering day and stays for tea, the last two weeks I have had the iron transfusion and it leaves me so tired in the evening. He says oh dont worry about cooking I can get tea at home (he is 73 and full of arthritis) but how can I not cook for him? Its an evening when my husband goes to see his son so it means me cooking twice. No one understands how hard this is on me and it irritates me no end!!

Anyway, last night we went shopping for the last of the baby stuff, nappies, milk, wetwipes and a few bigger vests as I dont think the 0-3 will fit him! I found it so hard walking around asda as it felt like my back was going to split in two! I popped to the loo while I was there and had been wearing a pad (just in case) and noticed there was tan coloured spots on it. Not pink like at the end of a period but kind of beige colour. Could this be the start of the plug coming away? Im hoping so as it may not take much for then to induce me if I can be half way there over the next few weeks!

Podpie I meant to say, with both my two they never engaged until I was in labour-its quite common for them not to :) xx

Ah Podpie Demaris is right that is inconsiderate of them really. You don't know what is going to happen and when baby will arrive so they shouldn't be making plans already to come and stay? Do they live abroad or something? If it was my OH I would point blank be saying no. We already had a long chat about visitors etc and that's why we are not inviting anyone to the hospital as his parents live far and would expect to stay, and the last thing I want is to come home to them. We are having at least the first 3 days by ourselves and then inviting people over such as my parents, then his for a day. This is my first LO and I don't know how I will be but I certainly don't do well to stress lol and coming back to the MIL would drive me nuts xx

Ladies if your facing induction it's really worth looking at the research and guidelines for declining an induction if baby is still doing well inside. I'm a firm believer in baby comes when baby is ready and unless there is a medical reason for induction it's best to let them up just come naturally even if it's over 42 weeks.

There are nice guidelines to say that you should be offered monitoring instead of induction if your baby hasn't arrived by 42 weeks. This would involve scans to make sure fluid levels and measurements are ok and CTG monitoring, but many midwives fail to mention this as another safe option.

There are risks with induction with baby that isn't ready (especially if your bishops score is unfavourable) ; higher risk of c section and instrumental deliveries or just a generally harder and longer labour. Not trying to scare anyone but if it medically isn't needed then I won't be opting for an indication and will let baby come when it's ready. Obviously completely different if baby is not coping with going over term.

I just don't know why midwives don't state that this is an option instead of induction. If anyone wants the links I'll try and find it. X

Tiggy that's very interesting info. Just curious, do you have the same opinion when it comes to OC? I was offered to be induced at 39 weeks, but they are not too insistent, I could leave it until 40 if I really wanted to I think. But when they start talking about risk of stillbirth that freaks me out big time :(

PODPIE!! This makes me physically feel sick. No no no no. Put your foot well and truely down.

The thought of my MIL being here when I get back from hospital would be enough to send me to insanity and a break down!!
She was staying with us when we got married and because of that we stayed in a hotel for 2 nights because I couldn't bare the thought of having just got married and the next day going back to our home while she was there!

No you must tell your OH how damned inconsiderate it is and tell him no! My family live 2.5 hours away and they are staying in hotels. Yes they're my family but I don't want anyone staying. It's our time and what kind of person thinks it's ok to invite themselves and stay when you bring a new born home? I couldn't deal with the thought of that, it would seriously tip me over the edge. If your trying to establish breastfeeding etc it's going to make it harder too.

I feel very strongly about this and you need to make yourself heard. You pay your share of your mortgage/rent and your the one giving birth, your OH should be made aware of this. I really feel for you xx
