*** march 2015 mummys to be ***

My midwife told me we'd discuss the birth at my 34 week appointment and I had a letter from the health visitor the other day with an appointment to meet me and introduce herself at the beginning of January. :) It's all go now!

We've just picked up the most expensive bit of baby kit we've bought... Our new car! Had to get something bigger to be able to transport the baby and dog and all the baby and dog's things all at once so I said goodbye to my little fiesta and now we have a big 4x4 style thing! It's brilliant! :)

Chrissie I'm sure if your MW knows then it's ok to go then?

Ooh Podpie what did you get? We pick up our new car tomorrow- we bought a Kuga-so excited!

Xx

I didn't meet my HV until I'd actually had my first wee boy. Think they all work differently though.

I don't know where you stay but in Scotland we get a book called Ready Steady Baby, and it gives you a brilliant idea about birth plans but the midwife will go through it with you too xx

Wow! Can't believe we're in the third trimester now! I've been so nervous of things going wrong from the start that it seems totally crazy to reach this stage. How's everyone else doing? I'm constantly tired and have a cold.

Hey ladies. I'm officially here in tri 3 now! So exciting! Have been a bit quiet on the forum as I kept thinking was I in tri 2 or 3! It has been quite quiet on both boards!

I'm doing well pelvic pains still manageable, and I am sleeping so solidly......I feel like I've been drugged when I get up the toilet in the night and I can barely open my eyes or move when my little boy or hubby try to wake me up to get me out of bed!

I've got another 7 weeks of work left before I take my annual leave/mat leave!

I'm getting anxious about birth, not the actual birth as I loved and enjoyed my first labour/birth but I had a really quick birth, and I'm worried that baby is breech at the moment (I know there is time to turn) but I was planning a home birth as I don't think I'll get to the hospital in time or I'll risk having baby in the car or car park.

I really don't want to be giving birth to a breech baby at home!

Well had my GTT test yesterday and I have GD :( on metformin now as I can't keep my sugar level below 7 really sucks, no treats for me over Christmas :(

Thanks missbx! Was amazing! She's head down which made it difficult and she also wouldn't take her hands away from her face for very long- but she looks like her dad & she's also got hair!! Xxx

Glad everything went well my little girl was covering her face aswell camera shy like her dad x

So sorry :( have they told you to keep to a low sugar diet? x

Welcome to tri 3 :)

Sorry your having pelvic pains I seem to have it in the morning when I get up to go to the loo I go 2-3 times a night.

This is my first so I'm not sure what to expect but then midwife gave me some information I'm going to sit and read x

Hey ladies so I had my GTT and I got the results yesterday and I passed! :) I was so sure I was going to fail and was stressing over it.
I'm also measuring 27 weeks not 28 so I'm measuring a week behind is this anything to worrie about or will she be a smaller baby? This is my first baby.

She also gave me my labour pack early so I have some more information to read though :)

Hi Ladies,
I met my health visitor last week. It was only really a talk about the services they offer, the clinics after having little one for weigh ons etc, and just loads of information booklets to read. Oh and got my red book.
Had my 28 week app today, baby was proper wriggling around. Got information on the wards at the hospital, visiting hours and all of that, as well as what to put in my hospital bag, and a birthing plan sheet that I need to go through. MW was very good said nothing is set in stone and if you don't want to tick some of the boxes or write anything too specific in them then you don't have to. It's all suddenly feeling so close!!! Xx

Feeling really down and rather upset after my appointment with the consultant today, as u know I have GD, have been advised about diet and I'm on metformin but she told me today they have found out rather late about it and are hoping to get it under control but she went on about how he is a high risk, could have breathing problems, how he is at risk for being stillborn or might have a heart problem, I just felt like crying, then went on to tell me how they will monitor me closely but I just feel so awful :( she told me I won't be going full term either, I know she probably had to tell me all this but it all just sounded so awful and I'm so worried now :(

Chrissie at least they have found it now and can work to get it under control. Not a great time of year for it though. I guess they have to tell you worst case scenario but try to stay positive as they are only potential problems. I know it's easier for me to say than for you to think but stressing about it is no good for you or baby. Keeping everything crossed that all is ok with your wee man.
On the bright side you get to meet him sooner! Xx

Ahh! It was a toss up for us between the Kuga and a hyundai ix35 and the hyundai won, simply because we could get more for our money with that one. I love it! And it's going to be so much better for when the baby arrives. :)

Aw Chrissie I'm sure they are just "covering their arses" by telling you the absolute worst case scenario.

At least you will be monitored closely and as previously said, you will get to meet your LO earlier than expected :-).

Can I ask you what prompted them to do the GTT at this stage of pregnancy (if it's personal please don't feel obliged to say!)

Thinking of you x

Podpie ah that was on our short list but hubby really had his heart set on a Kuga. I don't know about you but I've never driven such a big car and I am driving it like a granny! Cant wait to get the car seat in there!xx

I reckon your right Rachy, they have to cover their own backsides Chrissie so that's why she told you all that. I know it's hard but try not to be upset about it! Atleast u know about it now and so you can get some kind of control on it xxx

I think all doctors do it. Also they want you to do what they think is best so sometimes they'll use scare tactics to make you do what they say! Rather than what you want!

I know what you mean about driving like a granny Rachy! I'm the same!

Thanks ladies, baby was on the big side at my 20 week scan Rachy and again on my growth scan after that so that's the reason I had to have the GTT but it took them quite a while to actually book it, I think with finding out I had GD on Wednesday and then hearing all she had to say yesterday just kinda hit me like a brick, I have to admit I did have a good cry last night and I feel better about it today, still worried but I'm just gonna see how it goes, have another growth scan on the 6th of January where they are gonna check everything again like they did on the 20 week one, fingers crossed all will be ok xxxx

Scary realisation hit me this morning...Today 8 weeks will be my first day off on mat leave!!!! Well technically holiday but i'm taking 2 weeks hol before officially starting mat leave. with Xmas hols I've only got 5 weeks and 2 days left in work! and my cover was appointed this week!

THIS IS REALLY HAPPENING!

Oh ladies I've been on early may leave for a few weeks now (long story) redundancies, payout etc.

I've been busy every single day be it shopping, wrapping presents, cleaning, buying hubs family Christmas presents, decorating nursery!

I cannot go a single day without a nap . I tried today I woke up at 7.30 dropped hubs at station and went to the supermarkets to do last min food shop. It was hell! Came home and had lunch and couldn't stay awake. I had a 2 hour nap.

I always feel guilty like I should be doing something but I can't physically keep my eyes open. Is anyone in the same boat?xx
