I have my GTT on Tuesday. I work at the hospital so they have said I can get my results later on in the day.
Just can't believe they expect a pregnant woman to starve lol.....

I had to have a random blood test at midwives the other day because my urine tested high for sugar... Turns out it was just the cup of tea and glass of Orange juice I had before I done the sample whoops xxx

I'm so nervous for my GTT. I keep thinking I'm going to have gd because of my crappy diet so the last few weeks I've really tried to get it under control, whether that will help or not I don't know

We spent the weekend at my in laws and had a lovely time. Unfortunately it was ruined by the terrible sleep I had on a too small bed. I woke up in agony with my hips and back multiple times in the night and couldn't turn over or sleep comfortably because the bed was so small! I was so glad to be back in my own bed last night

I'm also starting to get kicks right up under my ribs now too! It's such a strange feeling having them all the way up there. Anyone else getting them?

Do they test everyone for gestational diabetes now? I had the test with my first two because they were bigger babies and will have one with this one next week-I hope the drink has improved 13 years ago it was vile!

Think it depends on your family history, if you have diabetes, BMI, ect. I haven't actually been tested for GD but after my positive urine result last week she thought I might have to be. X

Are these routine? My MW hasn't said anything about it at all and I'm 28 weeks on Wednesday?

Hey guys! I'm crashing the party a bit late, having not been around for the most part of my pregnancy.
I'm due baby number 2 on March 15th!!

My first wee boy was 9lb 4oz, so my midwife said I'll be getting a GTT this time as he was classed as a big baby.
Think it totally depends on your medical history and previous children you've had!! ��

Chrissie we are the same lol. I have the GTT, anti D and also a normal antenatal all in the week of christmas too

Yikes just got a call to go have my GTT tomorrow morning, bet the results are gonna be awful have to rebook my anti d now and can't get through to anyone as its a different hospital grr

How many weeks will you be Chrissie?

I had a mad rush today! I rung the antenatal reception to ask if they could do my 28 week FBC tomorrow when I get my anti D jab. The lady said oh no you have to have the FBC done at least 24 hours before! I couldn't believe no one had told me!!!!

I raced down there and I couldn't believe from the moment I parked in the hospital to getting back in my car was ten minutes!!! Could've got away with not paying the £3 parking ticket I reckon!

How are we all doing ladies? I've noticed my kicks aren't as strong, and getting a lot more wriggles (I think!) it's the most bizarre feeling! He is starting to fill out I think! (And just as I write this I get a huge kick!)

Got crib and Moses basket now! Just have to buy new mattresses. My cousin brought them down as her wee man is out of them now. He is only 6 months and we had the nicest day at the markets yesterday.
Was interesting to see how my dog reacted as she hasn't really been around babies before, she was petrified!! Every time she saw him she turned and legged it up the stairs, spent most of last night hiding behind our bed! I was just glad she didn't try and eat him!!

Shattered today! Looking forward to finishing work on Monday for 2 and a bit weeks, heading home to Ireland for a week Xmas eve and another week at home before back to work. Will be a different kind of Christmas this year without my dad though

Hey Ladies, am having my 28 week midwife appointment tomorrow. Taking hubby along with me. This is the last chance he will get to be able to ask any questions before the birth as he is due to go away with the army. Is there anything that he should be asking or that we might not have thought of?
