*** march 2015 mummys to be ***

Owh ladies you all sound so sad today :( sending you all lots of loves and happy thoughts.
I'm worrying a little about PND as I've suffered with depression and anxiety, but I think we can all support each other when there's tough days like that. Sometimes when I feel a bit down I feel horrible because why should I when I have my lovely baba to look forward to, but then I remind myself that depressive thoughts aren't rational! It's okay to be sad and have a little cry, and always reach out to someone and don't suffer alone. I don't want any of you to feel you don't have anyone, because after all we've been through we all have each other :)
Niknaknoo, I'm sorry it's getting to you about your dad. As I said before I get similar thoughts to you as my brother passed away 3 years ago now. I wish I could tell you it gets easier, but when you love someone it's so hard. Just think about all the nice times and don't try to think about what if he was here. If you ever want to talk, then you can always message me. I know it's quite different as you lost your dad and I lost my brother, but I can try to understand at least a little.
Hold in there everyone, we're on the downward slope now :) xxxxxx

Thanks ladies, hopefully when baby arrives I won't have time to dwell on these thoughts.
Sorry about your brother Cakey. There is just no way to describe it is there!
X

No there's really not anyway to describe it, it's just like a hole in your heart I guess. Just take care of yourself and even though it's been 3 months, don't think that you can't grieve anymore xx

Nik I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad and Cakey your brother. Know that they are looking down on you and will be with you both in spirit all the time. They will be so proud xx

Aww ladies! It's normal to worry, but I'm sure you'll be fine.
The most important thing to remember is that it's okay to ask for help!
My LO was 7 weeks old when his Dad left, and this LO won't have a dad on the scene as he doesn't want to know.
I let myself get totally overwhelmed (it was reactive depression as opposed to baby blues) and left it far too long before I asked for help. This time round I won't wait anywhere near as long if I start to feel down. I need to be strong for my little people!
And you can all do it too. :) xx

Oh ladies it's sounds like more than one of us is struggling at the moment. I suppose as we get closer we are facing huge life changes. Even those of us who have previous children. I Seem to want to go out and party all the time while I still can but truth is if I tried it i would want to come home at 9pm lol.

So this may be tmi but just been to the loo and when I wiped there was a clear jelly like discharge. First wipe quite a big blob of it second wipe less so and third wipe hardly anything. It doesn't smell so I don't think it's anything sinister. I'm wondering if it's the mucus plug? I'm 36 weeks on Sunday isn't it a bit early for that? Also I don't think his head is fully engaged yet as he was very high up this morning but last night I did have mild cramps and now I have them again with a mild backache but that could all be in my head I suppose. Any advice or ideas are very we welcome right now xxx

Definitely sounds like plug to me! You can lose your plug weeks before labour or due date! :)
I lost my whole plug in 1 massive blob 2 weeks before I went into labour. Xx

So it doesn't necessarily mean that labour is imminent then. I've been getting mild cramps for a week or two on and off. I mentioned it to the midwife and she said its normal and probably stretching which I thought she would say. I got a bit excited when I saw that today though and surprisingly not scared lol xx

Unfortunately not! Definitely means things are moving in the right direction though. Xx

Bugger! It's a good thing really cos it is a it early. But like you say things are moving in the right direction which can only be a positive really xx

Ooo exciting! I'm on knicker watch again, feels like being back in the first trimester. I'm only 37+1 but looking out for any symptoms. It's very real now isn't it??

Thanks Rachy :)
Oh I'm so jealous that some of you are 2 weeks+ ahead of me! Your lives sound so exciting in comparison lol. I'm just tired and achy! Xxx

Cakey: I'm knackered too! Just have my little person to keep me going as i can't curl up and hibernate. Xx

Awww ladies sorry to hear your feeling a bit down. It's totally normal to think at this stage how life changing having a baby will be and worries about making friends etc. I have to say i was the same first time around and although I haven't made many friends outside of my work I put this down to not making enough of an effort to go to groups etc. it is hard getting up out and about when your knackered, and I concentrated too much on my house and getting a routine.

As I've now moved house I don't know any mummy friends locally (but still have mummy work friends with babes of similar ages) I'm going to have to make a special effort to relax a bit on the housework and go out to at least one baby group a week even If ii am knackered and feeling crappy. It does take a while to make good friends and I'm sure that if you put yourselves out there you will soon find someone whom becomes a good friend. It's also important to talk to people about how you feel, as being a mum is hard work, much harder than going to work! At least you get a chance for a cup of tea and wee when at work! Lol

Big hugs everyone!

X

We cancelled our evening out after all that. Have just ordered a curry. I am now getting morning and evening sickness so can't really deal with sitting in a restaurant right now the way I'm feeling.
LO has been moving all day today, but really feeling like he's running out of room so it's more like scraping the inside of my belly rather than the odd kick or punch lol.
My first week off has already gone, so quickly! Was looking forward to a weekend with my OH, but instead he tells me he is going motocrossing tomorrow. Another day by myself :/ but he won't get much motocrossing done when LO here so I suppppossseeeee I am ok with it :) xx

I phoned for my blood results today and I have to have an iron infusion called Venefer. Basically its iron given to you by IV. They do a test one for 20 mins to make sure there is no reaction.

The midwife on the phone was very abrupt and didnt give me much information-im the sort of person who needs to know the ins and outs of a cows backside before I agree to anything. And now I have researched and read this;

''Facilities for cardio-pulmonary resuscitation must be deliverable,
because allergic or anaphylactoid reactions and hypotensive episodes
may occur.''

I don't mind admitting im bloody scared! My levels are 95-96 and havent changed my whole pregnancy. I'll be glad when this is all over :-/

It's a bit scary they haven't given you a lot of information. Maybe try and see your midwife on Monday to get more information?
That having been said, "if" anything was to go wrong, at least you're in the right place to be looked after properly.

I assume this transfusion will reduce the risk of complications during labour?

Ah Sarah! I'm sure you'll enjoy your curry cuddled up on the sofa as well! Sometimes that's just as good as getting out! Xx
Xx

I have to phone on Monday so they can tell me what time I am booked in on the Tuesday, its day assessment and they were closed when I finally got through to triage for the results. I'm going to try to speak to a different midwife to the one on tonight if I can, she wasn't very nice but again I guess they are busy. I do suffer from anxiety sometimes which can come out in a fear of morbidity so I know the next few days will be torture for me.

I know I have to have it done because the risks if I lose too much blood in delivery could result in cardiac problems. I don't think I have much choice :(

What a shame to cancel Sarah but if you would only end up feeling sick then you wouldn't have enjoyed it all that much anyway!

demaris, that sounds pretty scary but remember that is worst case scenario. They wouldn't be doing it if it didn't work and it's for yours and your baby's safety in labour. Definitely a good idea to try and speak to a diff midwife and get some more info for your own peace of mind. X
