*** march 2015 mummys to be ***

Hello all! Congrats mamma moo!
Sounds like we're all getting quite uncomfortable now. I am finding work a bit hard. Interviewed a cleaner on Monday - i'm getting desperate. I just struggle so much with everything!
Completely lost track of my dates. Not sure how many weeks I am now!
I need go start looking at my birth options and buying stuff for baby! Eek. I have one pack of vests and one box of nappies. Hitting the Aldi baby event big time tomorrow!
Have a HV coming today. .not entirely sure why but it means I have to get dressed...Booo :(

Just out of interest does everyone have a HV visit? I'm a bit worried if we have someone visit as we have no kitchen floor down yet and the baby's room is still full of boxes. Obviously I'm hoping it'll all be sorted before Oscar comes but I don't want to be judged on that :( xxx

I have mine coming out tomorrow, so i will let you know. from past experience (13-15 years ago) she just gave you advice about how to care for baby based on what was the 'thing to do' at the time ;-). She did go to the bathroom and came back and made a comment about my aromatherapy oils on my window sill and how harmful they could be to baby (dont know why that sticks in my head!). But like I said it was years ago. Also i think this is where they give you the red book for baby.

I will let you know how it goes :) xx

I didn't have a visit from a HV last time, but I was invited to go and see them. I guess this depends on the county. I had a feeling that the MW that came next day after I was discharged from the hospital had a quick look around though.

With my first LO I had a couple of home visits from the midwife before baby was 10 days old, then HV came and met me after that. At no point did they look around my house though. Xx

Every area is different. She just come for a chat and to give me some leaflets. Also discussed my mental health. Don't worry about mess they don't care - last time we were in the middle of decorating when she arrived.
It sounds like every area is very different in what they get. I'm in a really deprived area so I assume that's why we get it?

I just had visions of being told that our house isn't baby friendly or something. I haven't heard anything about HV in my county, I'll ask the midwife on Friday when I go see them :) thanks ladies.
Also have you all heard that Aldi has a baby event on? Morrisons does too atm (I work there) and got some bits for a good price. My mum said that Aldi have a baby monitor going that is supposed to be good, I'll see if I can find a link xxx

Ahh thats good to know thanks cakey! Its shopping night for us and usually its Aldi or morrisons-so Aldi it shall be! :) xx

The aldi event starts tomorrow near us.
Asda and tesco also have one on

Ahh ok :) I must admit we have almost everything now, but I am thinking of getting a pack of the Aldi nappies just to see what they are like. I swore by pampers last time so might just stick with what i know-decisions! :D

My mum has brought some Aldi nappies for us as she's heard lots of good things about them, I think she got some baby wipes from them as well. One of my co workers brought us a few things from Aldi too- cellular blanket and some muslin squares, they don't seem too bad :) xx

Aldi nappies are brilliant IMHO. better then the other own brands. I didnt get on with pampers until she was out of the newborn range. They just smelt really chemically. Plus cost a bomb. Aldi wipes are great too

I had the Hv come today she was lovely she just asked family history and went through pain relief and asked if me and Oh had jobs and if we was on any benefits and she also gave me some information on feeding and baby groups in the area she also said she will be coming when the baby's born to weigh her etc she also asked if anyone else lives with us but she was lovely and didn't need to look around the house and she asked if we had any questions.

I had the midwife aswell and they have found protine and blood in my urine so have sent a sample off to hospital :(

Sarah I'm a clinician and work in the community for a GP practise. Don't see the nhs staying around much longer if things carry on the way they are!

Our health visitors are a bit slow in this area. I've only just received a letter from my health visitor saying welcome to the area and offering an appointment as we are new to the area, I moved nearly 6 months ago!

But from my last baby I didn't get a visit from a health visitor until day 10 post birth. Some of them were lovely but the one that came out to see me at home came quite a few times and she was a right dragon, I was really struggling with breastfeeding and she just told me to give up (which I didn't want to do) and then phoned me the next day (as I had been upset) and said "I'm just phoning to make sure you hadn't slit your wrists or something!" She said that baby obviously wasn't getting enough milk etc!

Anyway this was all said at a time when actually what I needed was decent breastfeeding support and someone to tell me what I was experiencing was entirely normal or strategies to help with my specific problem. So I went along to a breast feeding support group and found that I had a really fast let down and oversupply of milk which was why baby was struggling feeding, they gave me brilliant advise and I eventually fed till my boy was 1! So my point being is that she knew nothing about breastfeeding and wasn't very supportive. If I had listened to her I would have given up breastfeeding unnecessarily and then felt guilty for a long time about it!

Missb, my mw also found blood and protein today in my urine but I did have a uti last week which I was prescribed antibiotics for.. mw said may just be I need a longer course of antibiotics? Still a worry tho isnt it? My bp is fine so she doesn't suspect pre eclampsia x

I have had this for the last few weeks Missbx, and they have said I shouldn't be worried it could be a small infection. I have also had leukocytes (white blood cells) in my urine and have done all the way through-its very common apparently. Try not to worry too much xx

Same here, my pee has also been sent away, pretty sure its an infection as it burns like hell down there at the moment, I was also told today I will be induced at 38 weeks, will have a date next week after my scan, 3 weeks until he is here yikes! x

ChrissieCool 3 weeks? Wow! This might be our third March baby :)

Did you know you would be induced? May I ask why? There is a high chance that they will induce me early too if I develop OC again (70% probability)
