Chart Stalkers February 2008

Hi everyone  decided to do some proper stalking instead of just talking about myself all the time

Firstly welcome to Evadel, Welsh Polly and Skairdykat  Nice to have new people on board, good luck for your BFPs soon :cheer:

Kmac - Glad your temp went back up today :) Really hope you get some decent sleep soon.

CB23 - Really sorry AF arrived. I do wonder why some months are more painful than others? Mine differs every month too. Nothing like a cuddle from a kitty to make you feel better though :) Im sure the wine and creme egg will go down a treat too. Good luck for next cycle

Kitty - Loving your prossie rules! :rotfl: Have fun! I think you are right about the lack of carbon monoxide in the house making me feel better, haha, I really am like a changed person today. Its a good job I have cats and no cat flap, as the back door is often open. Thanks for all your advice, you are so much better than the Dr!

Mildly - great news about your scan! Im so excited for you! :cheer: Roll on 22 Feb! Every time I see a scan photo my heart flutters  That was my biggest gripe with carbon monoxide thing, what would have happened to my poor baba if I had been pregnant! It doesnt bear thinking about.

Choklatemunkey - That is a nice rise on your chart! FX'd for you this month

Chrissy - DONT POAS YET!! Im really looking forward to the mass poasathon next Friday! I know Im going to be celebrating any BFPs with a glass of wine and then Ill be seducing the OH in tribute. Good luck lady!

Trudy - hope you have found some energy to BD!

Gypsy - Hope your DH hasnt been strangling you in your sleep lately

Babydust - hope the tiredness eases soon

Welshpolly - Whereabouts in Wales are you/are you from? Im in Swansea :D Must be fab having a Dr as a hubby! Im sure we will be asking you loads of questions for him to answer in the future! Best of luck with TTC, sounds like you had a hard time. Hope things get back to normal for you soon

Satch - Your chart is looking great

Hi to everyone else  Sorry If Ive missed you out. I am really excited about the mass test :cheer: Hope this next week goes quickly.

AF is over for me now and Im happy to say the BDing has commenced for me already! (you can tell my OH is feeling better! ) I didnt even instigate it! Not only have I been given sex, but I got home to a bunch of roses-pink, orange and yellow, a bottle of Rose wine, a packet of Aero Bubbles, Mannequin on DVD, Heat magazine and a beautiful red necklace! I have no idea what Ive done to deserve this (well I do, I cut his toenails for him last night :puke:  ). I am so looking forward to my night with him tomorrow :cheer: . There is nothing I love more than cheesy 80s films and a glass of wine. Bless him, he has made me a happy lady today :D *wub*

:puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :rotfl:

Hope you don't mind me copying and pasting that into an email to my DH... just to give him some ideas!

hey Mildly  Good to see you! Glad all's going well, can't believe you're almost at your scan already!

CB23 - even more  Hope your train journey wasn't too long.

Well, DH sounded bloody awful when he phoned earlier, poor love :( He was heading to bed at 7, skipping dinner and the obligatory late-night drinking session, so he must be ill. Meanwhile I'm still working and I've just realised I've managed to forget to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner today, I haven't moved from my desk for hours and the whole house is in darkness  No wonder I'm starving and desperate for the loo  Ok, off to raid the freezer, I know there's nothing in the fridge! There's a downside to working from home... :(

Loola how spoilt!!!!!

Kitty stop working so hard, I hope your DH recovers soon, an early night will do him good.

Mildly, fab news about your scan date, very exciting!

Loola - that dr sounds awful! YAY for BDing and all those lovely hings - you deserve it! :D :cheer:

I'm from North Wales, Llandudno, but am living outside Liverpool atm because we moved for DH's job!!! BUT he's working in Wales for another 6 months so I am here and he is there during the week!!! Think he's back in Liverpool from August though!

Chrissy - I hope you're not getting a cold x

CB23 - Hope you feel better soon. :cheer: for creme eggs :D

Kittykins - Thank you so much for your help! Sorry, I'm not very good at this! You're a great help though, thanks.
I want his spermies but not his germies... - :rotfl:
I hope your DH gets better soon and you found something to eat!

kmac - I hope AF stays away

Mildly - Glad your scan's come through

Hi all  Brace yourself for a man like whinge - I feel like death. You can see from the ridiculous time of this post that I can't sleep due to the fact there are now 2 little people stabbing me on each side of the throat. I want my mum  - whinge over.

CB sorry the witch got you and that it was so painful. It's insult to injury isn't it??? Glad you looked after yourself when you got in.

Loola - you lucky lucky girl. My DH idea of romance is putting in my kitchen cupboards. Soz you had such a rubbish Doc. Mine doesn't know much on fertility but at least he admitted it instead of being unhelpful. :x oh and I didn't find the energy to BD but fortunately DH has enough energy for us both!

Kitty spermies not germies :rotfl: I'm glad it's not just me who makes DH perform no matter what! He always seems happy to oblige tho. Hope your DH gets well soon. Oh also can you change the link to my page pls to http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/trudy
I wanted fancy one too!

kmac - try not to worry too much. Lack of sleep can definitely affect your temps. Have you been to the docs about your waking up in the night?

Mildly - that 10 wks has shot by!!!

Hope I've not missed anyone. I'm going back to bed to die.

Oh Trudy, I hope you can get back to sleep ok *hugs*

I was in bed for most of yesterday with a migraine! Came online to record my temps and to try and work out what's going on with my cycle!!!

I hope everyone has a great day
Love Pol xxx

Hi ladies, can I join you? I just started charting yesterday under the doctors recommendation.

I took my temo yesterday about 2pm which I know is wrong and this morning I forgot to take it till I got up. Well not forgot exactly but forgot to take my thermometer to bed lol. So not off to the best start
I'm using a cheap themometer from the poundshop too so don't think it's too reliable either so I'm just waiting for the one I ordered off Ebay to come.

Just a Q I will more or less be temping at just after 7am when the kids are at school but they are off next week so won't wake till a bit later. Will it make any difference or should I set an alarm to wake me at normal time? This goes for weekends too.

Thanks xxx

Morning all....hope everyone is feeling better than I do this morning!! I woke with a sore throat yesterday and today I have no voice at all..... A welcome relief some would say but at least I can still talk to you lot :cheer:

Skairdykat - welcome  .......I think that FF allows you 30 minutes either way of your normal time before it puts in an open circle. Because it's your first month charting I would say if you can to set your alarm to wake up at your normal time. Once you have an idea what a normal chart looks like then you can have a lie in at the weekends. Now I've got a few cycles and I have a pretty good idea of where my temps should be I don't mind having a lie in at the weekends because I know if something is unusual.

Welshpolly - Welcome to stalkers  .........good luck for a BFP for you soon

Trudy - so sorry you're feeling poorly. I'm poorly too ut I did manage to stay in bed all night....... abeit only dozing in and out of sleep for most of the night. hope you're feeling better soon, lets feel sorry for ourselves together

Loola - what a rubbish doctor.... Glad you DH was so sweet though...what an old romantic he is.

Guess what.......it's only 1 week today to testing day :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: I soooooo hope one of us get a BFP

This time next week........we'll all know one way or the other!

Good morning all!

The front page has been updated to change Trudy's link and add skairdykat's and Hara's - welcome!

Trudy - sorry you're feeling so sh*t  On the plus side, if you down lots of magic cough medicine, not only will it help with your sore throat but it'll also give you lots of EWCM at just the right time!

By the way - a word of warning. I tried the magic medicine over the past couple of days, just out of interest. It seems to have worked - but in addition, my nose hasn't stopped running... :puke:

Skairdykat - on my bedside table I have my alarm (obviously), a BBT thermometer, a small torch, a diary and a pen. My alarm is set for 6 every day, regardless. Usually I wake up a few minutes before anyway. During the week, I temp, then get up - at weekends, I temp, then roll over and go back to sleep. The diary is so that I write down the temp as soon as I get up, or if I wake early (say 4am because I need the loo) I temp then, and write it down. Then if I get back to sleep for more than an hour, I will temp again, if not, I use the early time. I write the temps down because I have accidentally wiped my thermometer before now, or forgotten to record the temp before using it again. The torch is so that I can check the temp/write it down without waking DH!

It's really hard at first, but once it becomes a habit you'll find that you barely wake up to take your temp and it really doesn't stop you going back to sleep.

well, I'm quite excited. I am on CD15, I had an almost + OPK last night, and a slightly stronger almost + this morning, and this morning I had a Peak on my CBEFM for the first time since October.

It looks like my cycles are finally normalising after the chem - they've certainly taken their time! Shame DH is ill, but he'll just have to do the best he can when he gets home tonight... :rotfl:

oooh more newbies to stalk....hehe

skairdy - ideally you take it at the same time every morning when you wake up - but a little bit of variation in time isnt the end of the world.....

Kitty I tried it but it tastes so gross - Im gonna look out for a flovoured one i think! :rotfl: at your rules! your poor DH - but needs must and all that! :cheer: for an almost positive OPK and normal cycle! Im sure you will be making good use of that

 everyone else will try and stalk later but very busy at work today :( poor me!

I know i have asked this in a seperate thread, but can anyone look at my chart and tell me what it means.

Loola has given her oppinion, and i now know that it is really important that i take my temp at the same time everyday. With regards to this, do you think that my chart is really out of whack and i should start looking more closely as of next cycle?

I don't know...

It's a digital one, but i dont' know the diff

It will be to 2 decimal places - ie. the temp will be 36.23 or 36.54, rather than 36.2 or 36.5.....thats what you need really for temping - the extra number.

ah...no it's not...hmm...will have to invest in one of them then...Do they sell them on ebay? I live in Cyprus, and dont' think they have anything like that over here...although i will look around

Ok, here's what I think:

Generally -

1. It's always difficult to tell from a first chart. They always look like mountain ranges to begin with.

2. If you don't take your temps at the same time every day, then the chart won't be as accurate (typically, temps are higher if taken later, lower if earlier. So if your 'usual' time is 7am, but you take it at 6am on Friday, and 10am on Saturday, you might reasonably expect the temp to be 0.3 deg C lower on Friday and maybe 1.5 deg higher on Saturday - useless for interpretation. As every individual reacts differently, you don't know for sure how much lower/higher it would be - I'm basing those temps on my own!)

3. Your temp is often higher during the first couple of days of your cycle - it doesn't necessarily plummet as soon as AF appears, but usually does so by the end of it. Therefore your temps until CD5 or so may be more typically post-ovulation temps than pre-ovulation. Again, this varies with the individual.

Specifically -

How long are your cycles usually?

Going only on those temps, which we know are not necessarily accurate, and your CM, I would say that it looks highly possible you ovulated yesterday. This would be confirmed if your temps are high tomorrow and Sunday - above 36.85.

This would give you a 35-36 day cycle - at the long end of normal but not unusual.

But then again, I don't know what time you took all those temps!

Most were taken at 7am apart from the ones that are circles and not dots...Day 11 - 14 were taken about 8am (I woke up late) and the first few days were taken about 2pm...I think

My cycles are usually betwen 28- 30 days...Mostly around the 28 day mark.

you can get BBT thermometers from Babymad on eBay - search for Babymad, or for basal thermometer.

The 2 decimal places thermometers are much more accurate (and have a different temp range) - but having said that, you would still get the general idea from a normal thermometer. My first couple of charts were done using a BBT thermometer, but every single temp ended in xx.x4, so it wasn't really 2 decimal places - you can still see the pattern.

the other thing I'd say is that it's best to think of the first couple of charts as a finding out process - don't get too worked up about them. It takes at least a second chart for you to know what your different CM looks like, for example, and to get the hang of temping every day at the same time. Plus FF only gives you a y axis (the vertical axis with the temp measurements) long enough to fit the temps up until that point, so the first half of the cycle always looks more erratic than it should until you ovulate and a second range of temps appear - suddenly the pattern emerges, and the scale shrinks.

Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh.... the 2pm temps will have thrown your chart completely!

If you can work out which ones they are, I'd go back and discard them. They're useless and they'll give you a totally false picture.

To give you an idea, my usual pre-ov temps are around 35.9 - 36.2. My usual post-ov temps are around 36.3 - 36.7. I have taken my temperature mid-afternoon and before bed on a few occasions, out of curiosity, and I've had 35.33 at 4pm after 3 hours of sitting at my desk and not moving, and 37.24 at 10.30pm after cooking, eating and washing up.

Having said that, you've recorded EWCM on CD22, immediately followed by sticky CM on CD23. That's usually a good sign of ovulation - fertile CM usually dries up immediately, though you may get EW or W CM again just before AF as the corpus luteum breaks down. have you been ill or stressed recently?
