Chart Stalkers February 2008

Loola! How scary.....plus, I'd be furious! Id second Kittys advice about going to the Dr etc and trying to get some money back as that is terrible!

hmmmm... are you checking CM or using OPKs this month?

It's a little difficult going on temps alone, but it's looking like either you haven't ovulated yet, or you ovulated but your hormones are still all over the place from the m/c and maybe you're not producing enough progesterone? My GP said they expect the body to take 3 months to recover from a m/c, and in the meantime the hormones do some pretty strange things. It certainly looks like an ov rise from CD11, but that is quite early (how long are your cycles normally?) and it barely rises above last month's coverline before dropping back below it. Based on the pre-ov temps, I'd be expecting your coverline to be around 36.3, so ovulation would be confirmed once you saw a rise with three temps above 36.3. The fact that last month's coverline was in approx the same place makes me even more inclined to think that would be about right. Did you feel ill at all last week, or have a cold or anything that might have caused a couple of days of cold temps? I'd carry on BDing for now, just in case, but if AF turns up in ten days' time, I'd definitely make an appt to see the doctor.

Trudy - time for a red-hot chilli curry, I think! Hope you get better quickly - and woohoo, glad you've got your dog now! (I want one... DH won't let me  ) What is he?

He's a bullboxer. Bull dog crossed with a boxer. He's white with a few grey freckles down his back and a black patch over his eye. Because he's white he'll need suncream in the sun! I'm gonna look such a wally putting that on him.

My friends are bringing their dogs to meet him tonight. So we'll have Bruno, Buster and Boris. You couldn't plan that could you!!!

Hopefully having a dog will distract my mind from TTCing and a BFP will sneak in when I least expect it.

Loola - I agree with the others def go to the docs to make sure you're gonna be okay.

I don;t remember being ill but I have woke up a few nights coughing. Though DH was strangling me at one point. That is the only think I can think of.
As for training, the boys are now at nursery but before they were at nursery my DH used to throw mw out the door training as soon as he got back from work. I am a SAHM.
I got post natal depression after having the twins and my doctor, knowing the sort of sport I did, asked if I was still training.
I wasn;t at the time and he told me to start again as it is the best thing to beat depression.

Thanks everyone  My Landlady is going to be fined for not supplying us with carbon monoxide detectors. She lives in London herself, so I do feel a bit sorry for her as she couldnt have known, but of course she should have supplied us with detectors. Otherwise she did everything right, had our gas service done at exactly the right time etc. If we hadnt had that done, the engineer said we could have been dead this time next week. I think Ill go to the Docs tomorrow if I can get an appointment.

great news rom  so now you can get back to ttc

loola thats scary, my dad had something similar he had it escaping from the gas boiler in the attic room where the girls sleep if they are staying, i always wondered why the girls were grumpy when they stayed there. i think the length of time it stays in your system depends how long and how much of it you were exposed to.

gypsy  you put me to shame, i am soo unfit

well im going to make a pot of soup before my energy runs out, im getting really really tired morning to night, hope its a good sign. good luck to everyone waiting to test  . oh and i said 3 bfp this month

I said 3 as well........forget to say.

Hi all

The latest instalment of my temperature woes...

The last thing I said to DH last night was "If I wake up at half four I might as well take my temperature". So, sure enough at 4.30 exactly my eyes popped open  I think I must have been sleeping really lightly. So my temp then was just as low as yesterdays. :( I was a bit disappointed, went to the loo then fretted for half an hour before falling asleep again. When the alarm went at 6 I felt like I was waking from a coma, I was so deeply asleep - and my temp had risen by a whole 0.1 degrees C. :) So it's almost at the coverline on my chart. I am more convinced now that my low temps are due to not sleeping properly. If I had slept like that for 3 hours I imagine it would have gone up even more. Does that seem logical??
So yes, I can't sleep properly for worrying about my temps, which make my temps low, which make me worry about my temps. :wall: :wall:

aaaarggggh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great news ROM :D

I'm totally exhausted reading about Gypsy and Kittys fitness interests. I also love running....... :fib: OK, watching it. I'm an athletics fan and I love watching Paula Radcliffe. I used to run a lot a few years ago but I'm a lazy moo now. Must get a fitness regime going after baby no2 though. For now I'm sticking to Yoga :D

Sorry it looks as though AF is here CB23, your chart looked so good too :(

Loola - how scary for you. Get yourselves checked out and get those detectors too.

Welcome to the newbies

Hi everyone!

I've loved reading what everyone's been up to! :D

I am a bit stuck with my chart though!
This is a bit TMI, sorry ...

I don't know whether AF has started or if it's just spotting! It's not really enough to wear a pad or anything but when I wipe there are a few stringy clots! Not sure what to put!

TMI over!

I am waiting to hear back from my gyn as I had a hysteroscopy, d&c and biopsy as my periods had suddenly become heavy and irregular but after the procedure he didn't seem worried! Hubby is a doctor and he doesn't seem overly worried either but it would be nice to get back to being regular again and know what's going on! He said he would ring the gyn tomorrow as it's his old boss!

If anyone can help that would be fabulous, thank you.

You know, I only joined yesterday and I'm hooked already!

Morning all, sorry for neglecting my stalking duties, been a bit :( about another cycle gone even though I knew we didn't have much chance. AF due today, temps crashed yesterday (and its a pretty impressive crash!) but went up again slightly today and remain above my coverline. I'm hoping this means maybe AF stays away another day move me towards weekend ov'ing as I have to admit I don't have the energy when its during the week

How's everyone? Looking forward to mass test next week? I'll be away so I'll miss it!

Morning all

CB23 - I have to say I'm getting an overwhelming urge to POAS already!!! I know it's only 6 dop but I can't help myself.

I haven't done it yet though..... I'm determined to hold out until 15th.

Still not got any symptoms......Although I've started with a bit of a cough and a sore throat this morning so I'm think I'm getting cold symptoms if that counts??

hope everyone is ok

c
xx

Just got back from the Doctors. What a complete and utter waste of time that was! :x My usual lovely lady Dr was on holiday so I had a male Dr who basically didnt give a shit. I asked him how long carbon monoxide would stay in your blood stream and he said he didn’t know. He just advised that I should get lots of fresh air for the next few days.

I then asked about baby making. Told him that we had been trying for 10 months, I had been charting my temps and they are all fine, I have been ovulating, and my cycles are all normal, so could I be referred to have some tests? He said no, not until we have been trying for 12 months. I said Id really like to be able to put my mind at ease as I have previously had a miscarriage with a previous partner and worry that this might have affected things as it was excruciatingly painful, so much so that I had gone into shock afterwards, he still said no. :(

I then mentioned that my OH had been drinking a lot, but has now cut down a huge amount. I asked if I was right in saying that sperm replenishes itself every 3 months or so, so his new healthy lifestyle would still mean that it would take some time for the sperm count to rise. He said he didn’t know, but he would presume that eating healthily and not drinking or smoking would certainly help things. I said that my OH has been taking Zinc and multi-vitamin supplements so this should improve his sperm count? He said he had never heard of that helping but it cant hurt! I then mentioned the seroxat and how Id read that that could possibly lower sperm count, he said he had never heard of that and then got a little book out. It just read that it could cause erectile dysfunction and loss of libido which we know already. I said that it didn’t affect my OH in that way. In the end he said come back after Easter if we still haven’t conceived. He said the only thing that he knew for sure was that alcohol seriously affects the sperm count, but once the alcohol was cut out or reduced that the sperm count should become normal again. He said I knew more than him. Perhaps I should get his bloomin wages then! He basically treated me like I was wasting his time. Ill make sure I see my lady Dr next time.

Sorry to barge in with a rant!! I promise Ill do some proper stalking later! I really should do some work though

Chrissy!!! Dont you dare succumb to that urge! Im counting on you!

I bet someone gives in - espec on 14th as its Valentines Day and someone will come on here and say - oh I tested this morning as I wanted to have a few glasses on wine with DH tonight and so I wanted to check whether it was worth being tee-total or not!

Wont bother me as I dont really drink anyway.....but Im not sure exactly when Im due - It'll be gutting if we all get AF on 14th as none of us will get as far as testing!!!! BUT :wall: Think positive! THATS NOT GONNA HAPPEN, as we are all gonna get BFPs! (thats what I keep telling myself!) Well, heres hoping anyway!
x

EDIT - to say sorry Loola I didnt see your post as we must have been typing at the same time. Sorry you had a bad experience with the Dr....definately make sure you see your usual Dr next time....maybe you should go back in like a month and see the usual Dr and see what she has to say as she might have a totally different opinion about the Carbon monoxide thing.....and about babymaking.....some Drs will refer people earlier for tests etc if they have been charting as it eliminates some of the usual suspects with regard to not concieving ie BD at the wrong time, lack of ov etc

Loola - that's so bad from a doctor! Maybe you could give the surgery some feedback?!?

Loola are you sure he was a doctor and not the cleaner pretending? He doesn't seem to know a lot.

Ooh I think you should change the date of the mass test to 14 Feb!!!!

hi all

loola  sorry you had a crap time with your dr. Sadly there are so many that know so little... I won't see anyone other than my regular doctor now. If you find one you trust, stick with him/her! At least, though, a record of the appt will be on your files - so should you have a prob with CO poisoning, it's recorded that you were worried about it in Feb 08, etc... By the way, I asked my friend (who's a hospital doc) about CO poisoning, and he said that yes, there can be long-term effects from long-term poisoning or from very severe poisoning, but the vast majority of people with short-term/mild poisoning make a very quick full recovery. Severe poisoning would be if you'd shut yourself in the car with a hosepipe attached to the exhaust, long-term would be over a period of years - and the point of annual tests is to prevent any gas leak from being for more than 12 months absolute maximum.

I'd actually forgotten that we had a similar thing with our gas fireplace a few years back (which is why I bought the monitor - !) - it hadn't been fitted correctly, and I called Transco because the frame was loose and British Gas refused to come out and fix it. Transco immediately condemned it and told me there were dangerous levels of gas escaping. I'd been having headaches and slight nausea but nothing more. Anyway, the Transco guy said that of all rooms, the sitting room was likely to be pretty well ventilated, because it's in constant use which means people going in and out and opening and closing the door - thus encouraging air-flow - plus the window gets opened pretty frequently to air the room, plus it's near the front door, so often gets fresh air blown in from outside. So don't worry too much, you probably didn't get much of a build-up (bedrooms are worst for leaks, apparently, as you spend several hours at a time in them, often with a door shut and without going in and out, they're furthest from outside doors, and lots of people don't open a window at night especially in winter).

phew, that was a long one. hope it reassures you a bit more than your doctor did though!

CB23 - I think we should make it a rule that we're excused stalking and posting duties for the first 7 days of each cycle.

Welshpolly - I was totally confused by your post, because your ticker says you're on CD4... Think you may have to change that!!! FF rules for first day of AF/cycle are if it's bright red and/or requires a pad or tampon, it's AF. If it's brown/pink and only requires a liner, or only present when wiping, it's spotting. So today would be spotting from the sounds of it. HTH!

Well, my DH is away on business (back tomorrow) AND has a cold. I have the 4th High on my CBEFM and rather too much EWCM for my own liking! I'm hoping that I'll get a Peak tomorrow or Saturday so that I ov over the weekend - but I've told DH it's strictly prossie rules - shagging but no kissing. I want his spermies but not his germies... :rotfl:

CB23
Loola - what a crap doctor!!

I'm still having trouble sleeping, but my temp went back up to the coverline today.
Symptom-wise I'm having a few twinges, but I'm probably imagining it, just hope AF stays away as I don't want another short cycle. And I want to test on the 15th!!

I'm so sleepy though...

Thanks guys  I have really bad cramps today, I normally barely get any cramps at all, this afternoon they were awful, I didn't have any painkillers at work and was feeling crap so I left early. The train journey home was hell as I was faced with a choice of catch train and get hom or go to boots get painkillers and be home half an hour later, I went for the former. I don't know why its so bad this month :(

Anyway had a creme egg, now snuggled up with a heated lavender beenbag thingy, a rug, a glass of wine and my old ginger tom so feeling better.

Hi all

Hope you are all well. Good luck to all those currently in the 2ww  I keep forgetting to post that I picked 4 BFPs for this month :D

ROM, good news, I bet you're pleased that it's all systems go again :cheer:

kmac, fingers crossed AF stays away :D Hope you sleep better tonight :)

Kitty, :rotfl: @ spermies no germies! Have fun jumping on your OH tomorrow ;)

CB, I agree Valentines Day would be a great test day for the mass test :D Sorry AF got you though, hope your cramps go away soon :( Also now I want a creme egg

choklatemunky, nice rise on your chart today, FXed for the mass test day :D

loola, your other thread in TTC got me really excited  I hope that the carbon monoxide leaves yours and your OH bodies really soon  In some ways, and I know this isn't really much consolation, but it's a good thing you weren't pregnant whilst breathing in the carbon monoxide as it can have significant fetal effects  Hope Ov comes soon for you :D

Chrissy, fingers crossed for you  I think cold symptoms count as pregnancy ones ;)

welshpolly welcome to chartstalkers

Gypsy and Kitty you are both making me feel very unfit - I've started getting puffed whilst walking the dog now

Hi to Bagpuss and babydust, hope you're both not too tired at the moment

Sorry I know I've missed people  I'm only looking back as far as the topic review

I got my 12 week scan date today through the post, it's on the 22 February - it seems to have come around so fast  Hope you are all well and I can't wait til the mass test day this month. I'm quite happy to be wrong about my guess that 4 of you will get BFPs providing it turns out to be more than 4 of you ;) :D
