***April & May Mummy & Baby***

Ahh Amy that sound lovely!! I love tradition like that :-)

Freddie's dribbling SO much right now and chewing his hand a lot but he's only 11 weeks- isn't that a bit young to be teething?

I asked my mother in law this question tonight, she works with the health visitors so knows abit about babies, plus she's had 5 of her own ;)

She said babies can display signs of teething from very early on as there teeth are already there. Every time they move it can cause a little discomfort but not pain. The pain comes when the tooth is near the surface and ready to cut.

H is only 10 weeks and dribbling and chewing his hands like mad! Xx

Oh no!! How long can they be in pain for before the teeth cut through? When do babies usually get their first tooth? X

Some babies can be born with teeth hun and some babies get their teeth a little early, some a little later. It's usually about 6 months it starts but she is deffo teething, poor pudding :( her cheeks are bright red x chewing hands constantly, dribbling, crying in pain and plus I can feel them :(

Bless H <3 give him hugs from me and missy xxx

Saw the photos on facebook Jolly - but just wanted to say they were beautiful! Looks like the sun came out for you too! Hope Freddie had a lovely day:-)

Amy - that's a lovely tradition! Looking forward to seeing photos! I've been looking at arranging a naming ceremony for JJ - I've been pointed in the direction of the most local registrar - and she charges almost £400 just to do the ceremony...youch!! It might have to wait til I am back at work and we have a lot more cash to hand.

JJ started showing signs of teething around 11 weeks - and I have been using Nelsons Teething Granules....they are a godsend! Would highly recommend them.

Morning ladies and babies. :)

Feeling a little like a bad mummy this morning and I know I'm just being stupid. H's cot is about less then 2 feet away from our bed and I can see him in it, even when I'm lying down. He loves to sleep on his belly but I've never allowed him too at night. However last night I did! He woke at half 1 for a feed. I fed him and put him back down, normally he settles back down really well but not last night. He was alsleep but really fussy and I couldn't settle then so by half two I was so tired. I popped him on his belly and it was like someone had put a spell over him. He became calm and so settled. He then slept great. Got fussy at half four, I popped his dummy back in he then slept till half 5. I then fed him, kicked daddy out of bed like normal and put Harry in bed with me for our morning snuggled. He's still asleep now.

I know he'd sleep nearly the full night if I let him sleep on his belly but I'm just so wary. I feel so guilty for putting him on his belly last night. :(

Jolly - it looks like a fab day was had by all. We need to organise H's christening but with going away in sept and another mini break at the beginning of December I just don't know when to have it or where we'd find the money from.

Hope everyone had a good night. X

Hey hun have you ever considered buying a baby monitor with sensory mat? We have one and H can now sleep any which way he pleases as I feel reassured that the mat is there :)

Xx

Just popped Evan in his cot for a nap even though he looked like there was no chance of napping. Put some music on and stuck his dummy in and he's now in baby dreamland! I don't like dummies really but it seems to be helping relax him :)

Chezza - my official usually charges £200 but she's a family friend so is doing it cheaper. Try looking into humanist ministers if you're not religious xx

Well my happy baby has returned yay he was such a grump yest!!

Been to baby clinic today hv has prescribed cream and bath stuff for Rian as he has really bad dry skin on belly and arms.

Im bk to work next wk :-( (self employed) luckily only doing few days and hubs is home so that helps xx

Got Evan weighed and he is now 14lb 5oz although feels like a tonne lol!

I put him in his swing as we were eating Sunday dinner yesterday but he started crying. Ended up having him on ny lap and trying to eat. He was fascinated by watching us eat and my plate! Still wanting to hold off weaning as long as possible or until Evan is stealing my food!

I have, Emma but we just haven't got the spare cash at the moment. :(

Well, I decided at the weekend, I was going to persevere with making sure JJ took his naps in his cot...as he was going through a stage of only wanting to sleep on me again during the day. So far today...we are on nap no 3 in his cot! Hooray!!!!!!!!!! Very pleased...just hope it continues.

Thanks for the tip about the registrar Amy - have sent out a few emails this morning asking about costs etc. So far the best one has come back well under half of what I have previously been quoted. You are an angel!!

I'm getting JJ weighed on Thurs...I am betting he is over 16 pounds by now judging by his last weigh in! He could easily pass for a 6 month old with his size. Dying to know how long he is now as well - I need to buy myself a tape measure so I can check myself!

I am planning on weaning when he gets to 17 weeks...mainly because he is now taking 8oz at every feed. I spoke briefly to my GP about it and he said to try him on a little baby rice with some formula milk before bedtime when he gets to that age, so 2 weeks today he will be experiencing his first taste of "solids" xxx

I need to look into baby naming ceremony.

Just dropped madam off with Granny for a couple of hours will be going back over for dinner.

Praying for a better night tonight thus 4 month growth spurt / leap is a pig!

I completely agree!!!!! It's not affecting JJ's sleep (thank goodness!) - but he has had the grumps for soooo long now! Knowing this LEAP can go on to around 19 weeks is quite depressing :wall2: xx

Well grump is in the air. We have constant hand munching and an irritable boy.

Tapatalking so cant see signatures

Evan has been less grumpy since getting him to take a dummy. He did have a major grump so took him for a walk in the sling and just ended up with a soggy t-shirt from hand munching dribble. He's asleep in the car seat after going to pick dh up from work.

Urghh. Evan is in his 4th outfit of the day and I am in my second. Major sick lol!

I'm supposed to be getting jack weighed on Wednesday but after that HV calling me stupid last week I'm not going. Just out of defiance really. I know perfectly well that he is outing on weight so I'm not worried. Last time my own HV said every 4 weeks but this stupid HV said every 2!! She can go screw herself. Sort girls rant over. Hope everyone is ok today. Xx

Well madam went to Granny's only took an oz of milk, had just gone to sleep when we got there 6ish was asleep for about 15 mins and the dog woke her up. She didn't want to eat or sleep, got home about an hr ago she fed for 15 mins and she had been zonked on my knee since. She's stirring now.

Going to be a long night as she's missed 2 feeds!

Good job she's cute
