***April & May Mummy & Baby***

Layla is two in July can count on one hand how many nights she has slept through she has diffrent type of seizures and trailing new meds. Hard when a friend been moaning to me on face book how hard she has it because her husband worked 9-6 yesterday and she may as well be single..... she should try being a full time single mum! Loving being a mum to my little lady's x

Are you a single mummy too, Jazz? X

Afternoon,

Having a lazy day with tiny today, she's just stirring after a nap so off to make a cuppa before my undivided attention is required! Wouldn't have it any other way.

Wanted to try and express a bit whilst she was asleep to try her with a bottle tomorrow. Will try on next nap as friends called round.

Can't believe she was 3 weeks yesterday! Flown by but feels like she's always been here

Hi ladies and babies. We are busy busy but DS1 is at the nursery today so a bit more chilled out day. I am at the horrible stage when i cant fit into clothes so in maternity still and feeling very frumpy. I dont seems to be losing weight ( i read its a side effect of domperidone which i am taking for increasing milk supply). Will be joining slimming world after 6 week check and starting light exercises hopefully. Xxx

Evan has colic :(

Feel like an absolute zombie, he was up all night and hasn't been settling much today. Fortunately HV spotted it this morning so trying to hold him on his tummy. Doesn't help he doesn't burp much after BF. Really feel rubbish, lack of sleep and knowing that LO is very uncomfortable.

He has put on another 3oz in 3 days so that's nearly 1lb in 2 weeks. He has a big head (like his daddy) so HV says he is only going to get bigger.

Managed to have a pub lunch as FIL is down for a few days. Evan fussed a little but I just felt really self-conscious and doesn't help with him having colic.

I'm good thanks Chezza. Bleedin knackered, but loving every minute of it! I think Riley is going through a bit of a growth spurt as he is wanting to feed every hour or so at the moment. My boobs are killing me! lol.

How are you doing? It sounds as though you are getting into a good routine with JJ already! Riley has a similar pattern. Last night he went down at about 1am and didn't wake up for the next feed until nearly 6!

I'm good thanks...only had 1 really bad night so far - I know there are plenty more to come...but happy for them to be few and far between lol! Sounds like Riley is doing well - 5 hours is a great sleep-through! :-) x

Awww, Amy - that's not good news...so sorry to hear little Evan isn't well - and in turn that you are suffering. How have you been advised to treat it? Do they still advise gripe water / extra bathing to ease the pain? xx

HV suggested Infacol and holding him on his tummy and rubbing his back. Haven't bathed him yet as belly button is still looking a bit yucky. DH is helping today, and FIL is up (he has 3 young kids himself so is an expert). It's such hard work though. Last visit with the MW is Monday so if he's still struggling I'll see if she can suggest anything else xx

After worrying about Evan's feeding since the HV said he had colic I decided to give the MW a call to check my latch and positioning. She watched him feed (of course Evan was perfect this time lol) and thinks it isn't colic but that he's overfeeding and the discomfort is just from a full belly. She said to try and keep him upright after a feed. She also gave us the all-clear for a bath so that is the excitement for tonight!

She also suggested a dummy, seeing as he has been using my nipple as a pacifer (and getting a cheeky feed at the same time!). Was dead against dummies, but he seems to enjoy sucking on a finger and I will only use it as little as possible.

Feel so much better today, he woke every 3 hours in the night and went back to sleep quite quickly. DH was fantastic doing the winding and changing - I had several meltdowns yesterday after the rubbish night before.

Hope all you other ladies and babies are doing well :) xx

Glad you are feeling better today Amy :-)

JJ has had a couple of off days...last night he was awake every 45 mins or so...had a mini meltdown myself :-( He will feed, but even if we spend a good 20 mins winding him, he cries incessantly, arches his back and clenches his fists! I worry we are overfeeding too causing discomfort...but when he roots around and displays symptoms of hunger, what else can we do...??

I feel like a bad mummy already...

Ok, so tonight he is waking every 20 mins...it's getting worse!!! So very tired...

Don't feel like a bad mummy Chezza!! I think all we can do in these early weeks is go with the flow and try and get through it! You're already doing amazingly because you care about all this stuff. A bad mummy wouldn't give a toss.
Don't know if you've seen this blog but it's made me laugh in the dark hours of the night - http://www.pregnantchicken.com/preg...5/4/what-you-need-to-know-about-newborns.html

Midwives told me you can't over feed a breastfed baby...but I'm tempted to say that's bullshit as I swear she fed non stop for 2hrs yesterday! Where the hell is she putting it?!

Doc said Daisy's chest, breathing and heart all sound fine so that's a relief. She's starting to sound better already. However she does have a little bit of oral thrush, which I think is the cause of my excruciating left nip. Joy! Bought nipple shields which are helping loads (me crying in the middle of the night trying to feed was the last straw!) and looking at getting a pump in the next couple of days. I'm not sure what I can put on to get rid of it tho? Doc prescribed some gel for D's mouth but I read the leaflet and it says not to give to babies under 4 months! So now I'm confused. Gonna speak to them on Monday.

How is everyone's weekend? Good I hope xxx

Just gatecrashing!!
I remember reading that link before petit pois - its all so true! I hate the fact that everyone seems to throw "advice" at you, it can be so overwhelming! Do what youve got to do to get you through the day and night, newborns are exhausting! Eva is 6wks old on tuesday and sometimes she stays awake for over 4hrs at a time, i dread nightfeeds and dont stimulate her in anyway, lights off (we have streetlights outside so its not pitchblack), no noise, no talking and if shes got her eyes open i *try* not to look at her - im so scared shes going to open them properly and thats it for the night!!

Gate crashing !!! My lo had oral thrush when she was about 3 weeks and we used the gel, we just made sure we gave a tiiiiny amount and had her sat up straight whilst giving it. They say 4mo+ as its got a pretty thick consistency. It cleared her thrush straight away x

Ladies, as a (sort of) seasoned mum, my advice is not to worry about routine this early. First 3 months are tough and do.whatever gets you through.
My lil man says hiuploadfromtaptalk1368354530832.jpg

We have been lucky with no thrush or mastitis so far so.fx but feels like he feeds all the time. He is quite good at night though ( we are co.sleeping so i am actually able to get decent sleep

Knopk is right, they are all still so young, I really wouldn't worry about a routine atm.

Had a reasonable night last night, apart from the 3am feed when he was awake for an hour wide-eyed and DH just pulled the duvet over his head!

The crying seems to have eased off and tried him on the dummy for 10 mins in the night which helped. Trying to keep him upright as much as possible after feeds, although he is feeding slightly less which is good... apart from my very leaky boobs! Ordered a manual breast pump so I can empty one side when he is only feeding on the one.

Went to get measured for a nursing bra today. Unfortunately Mothercare didn't go up to the epic H cup I have now become. At least I've gone down 2 back sizes lol!

Hope you've managed to get some sleep today Chezza xx

Not sure were else to turn feeling pretty shit Eliza went for weigh in today still no weight gain, she is still puking after her bottles, they want me to feed two hourly morning and night but this is making her puke so hard it comes out her nose and mouth, she isn't crying with but she isn't thriving :(

Hi just seen this thread. Can you add my beautiful little girl Grace.. Born at 35+1 weighing 4lb 9oz, we had a hospital stay for seven whole days because she's prem & had jaundice but finally home. Grace is pretty good tbf wakes every 3 hours for a feed & is straight back down afterwards.. The midwife is coming to weigh her tomorrow so ill get to see what progress has been made.. She dropped 3oz in 3 days which they said is pretty normal when new born..

Hope you're all doing well.

Here's my tiny tot. (Same as jazz, tiny baby drowns her!) lol
