Thanks girls..."Operation Ignore HV" is underway. Id rather have a happy baby than adhere to her guidelines.

So p*ssed off with her - and also at myself for listening to her! She is a bit of a snooty cow and both times I have met her, she has managed to get my back up!! Grrrr.....

I have had so many run is with hv's over the years with their stupid "guidelines". I used to listen knowing no better but with age came confidence and I took no shit off them after my first. For her to tell you to cut down his feed is just absurd! I'd have actually laughed at her before mocking her stupidity.

Infact I'd have probably said something like "should I also stop giving him a McDonald's milk shake every afternoon? Such a shame he really enjoys it" with a dead serious look on my face lol xxx

Is anyone really itchy down there?! Im pretty sure it's the stitches healing as its more on that side...is that normal?
I'm rally hoping its not a yeast infection it anything. Just...driving me crackers all night! OH was like "what on earth are you doing" as had to have my leg up and slap my pad I was wearing to make te itching stop LOL. Xxx

JBJ - cant help there - I was lucky enough to not have stitches down there! Hope someone else can help? Are you using diluted tea tree / lavender oils to soothe?

Shell - we were just starting to get a routine, but I think the changes we made last night might have thrown us off course a bit! We have bath time at 8pm, followed by a bottle, then we try and put him down for 21.30pm - 10pm...he normally (excl last night!) sleeps til around 2.30am-ish - bottle and change, then down again til approx. 5.30am - 6amish. I am going back to this routine tonight with a 5oz bottle!

How is your routine coming on? xxx

I wish i had a routine, lol! Also bf on demand, and with two babies who cant make up their minds when they are hungry, i feel pinned to the sofa most of the day! Although nights are much better now

Ours is the same Rian is feeding every 4hrs 4oz he does tend to go longer first thing he normaly wakes around 6-7am for a feed but if we have a cuddle he goes bk off for another hr!!. Its so hard thou isnt it x

Awww, lovely! Naked time doesn't happy much for us unfortunately as J doesn't like to be naked unless he in the bath! We also had a couple of mucky incidents when I stripped him off lol Not sure how to get round that...

Had a meeting with the HV yesterday - J now weighs 10lbs 6oz! She commented that he was ridiculously long for his age too! (Daddy is 6ft 4ins though.) Although he is following his birth line centile, he has apparently put on too much weight for his age and I have been told to cut his milk to 3oz per serving...he doesn't like it at all and now wants to feed more often and isn't sleeping properly. Last night was awful - he woke up pretty much every 2 hours and because he wasn't fulfilled with the amount of milk, wouldn't go back down very easily...shattered today - was supposed to be going out later, but I quite frankly don't have the energy now

I think he went through a growth spurt last week and on a few days, he did have more milk than usual - but he went back to "normal" soon after - but this could be where the extra weight came from?!?

Do I ignore the HV and go back to 4oz during the day and 1 or 2 x 5oz at night...??

Yes ignore the silly cow! If he's hungry then he needs to drink as much as he wants until he is contented. Everyone's appetite is different and it sounds like your HV is trying to put him on a bloody diet, tell her to piss off. Here's another example of why I don't like Health visitors. Feed him how much he wants hun xxx

I agree with Tam, if your baby is hungry. Why should you cut down his feeds so he's not settling silly HV! X

It must be different with bottle feeding, but Evan just gets boob on demand. God know how much he gets considering the amount I can express!. The let down is a nightmare at the moment. Especially when he has a screaming fit and my boobs start to cry lol!

He is still having big grumpy sessions at the moment but trying to zone out and deal with him without getting emotional. Bit difficult when he keeps me up at night - don't mind the feeding and changing but it's just the half an hour after of him stretching, straining, grunting, snoring and whatever else (all seemingly done while he's asleep!)

Scott has the same grumpy sessions! Is so frustrating isn't it. He just seems pissed off for no apparent reason x

Yeah using lavender but still itchy. It eases off and then comes back but its awful lol. I think all the stitches have come out so I think it's tightness and healing. I'm hoping it's not thrush though! I don't know how to tell signs of thrush lol xxx

Looks like another gorgeous day today, just got Libs dressed and us having a feed and then hopefully a nap. Shower for me then off out maybe to buy a BBQ

Must buy headbands next week, she's in lemon and green today and I know I'm going to get asked how old is he! Will stick pink things round the car seat lol

Someone has swapped my baby for a monster. Major tantrum last night and he started again this morning. Hasn't fed properly since 2am, keep trying but he is getting so worked out. Pretty much on the verge of losing it . He is so tired and hungry and have no idea what to do

Have you tried walking around and kind of bouncing so he sleeps a bit? When Mark is overtired, he is a monster

You know when you stop bleeding...does it kinda turn light in colour like a peachy orange colour??? I assumed it would be like with a period where just gets lighter and a bit darker :/ but I'm hardly bleeding now...just when I wipe it's like a clear peachy colour lol.
