***April & May Mummy & Baby***

Oh Nikki! You amaze me that you do more than me with 2 than I manage with the 1 you earn your super mum status you really do.

Ours is good as the carry cot part converts to the buggy so it's really big and with a quick swivel I can pop it back.

She's bathed and is having a feed on the sofa hoping this will keep her going and I can take her up in about half an hour.

Nikki - I struggle to cope with one so you must be doing an awesome job to have any sanity at all!

Evan has been almost a different boy today. He has fell asleep in the pram (after 5 mins!!!) and twice in the bouncy chair. On both occasions he just whined a bit then gave up. We have had no epic screaming fits *touch wood* and had big old playtime. He is loving rolling over, mostly when I try to change him. Fx bedtime runs a little more smoothly tonight...

Awww V&B, Libby looks all grown up in her pushchair! I tilted JJ's travel system a week or two again and he loves looking out and being nosy :-)

Bless you Nikki...I can only imagine just how tough it can get!! Just think of this though...when some of us are pregnant with No 2, and we are due to go into labour...and deal with a newborn all over again (eeek!) you can sit back with your 2 toddling around, thinking "phew!" I don't envy those ladies lol! xxx

That's great news Amy!!

How many doses of Gaviscon have you administered...? Do you think that might have a lot to do with the changes? I truly hope so.

Loved Evans video on FB!! Showed DH and he said I am obviously slacking with JJ and need to start training him up

Bedtime is getting earlier and earlier for JJ...every single night "the witching hour" occurs - JJ will scream, cry, grizzle etc...without fail between 18.00pm - 19.00pm. We started bathing him at around 21.30pm for bedtime at 22.30pm...slowly but surely over the last few weeks, we brought it forward by 10 mins a night and bath time is now 19.00pm with bedtime at 20.00pm. He doesn't wake up any earlier either - so am thinking we bring it forward even more...maybe bath time around 18.00pm and bedtime at 19.00pm? What time do you ladies do bath / bottle / bed...??

The only problem is DH doesn't usually get in from work until 19.00pm, some nights 20.00pm, so he may not see him during the week at all?? Hmmm.....

Am.i the only one who gets hair and bra straps pulled, hands all over my face when feeding. I need a BFing necklace NOW, he is such a fiddler! And trying to suck his finger at the same time as feeding?
I have another flirt on my hands - he sees a lady - all smiles, coos etc. Men - cant care less. Same as his big brother.
Amy, hope it works.
I am shattered and still need to pack - dont have the energy after being out most of the day.

H like to hold onto my bra whilst feeding. He also likes to smile at the ladies :)

I don't bath H every night. Our night time routine is fairly flexible. I just have one rule. Upstairs by 8pm and no going back down stairs. Depending how his feeds have gone H tends to have a feed between half 7 and half 8. He falls asleep feeding an then is in bed most nights by half 8. Tonight I put him in is cot at 8:15.

OH just shouted me downstairs. He's cleaning the fish tank out and discovered about 8 baby fish! They are so so tiny :)

We vary to be honest depends on what time she had her last nap. Try to have her upstairs having her last feed by 8.30 at the very latest. We don't bath every night but on the nights we don't oh takes her up puts her jammies on fetched her back down for a play then I take her up for feed nursery rymes and bed.

Trying to get her to settle herself tonight, got her music box playing with stars shining on the ceiling I'm laid on the bed as she got upset so I came back up.

Music box has finished now she's quiet but fidgeting so we'll see. I'm sure if popped her thumb in she'd be out like a light but hasn't figured out sucking it to get to sleep yet.

Both mine tug at my clothes, luckily my hair isnt long at the moment and always tied back because of the heat ;)

We didnt used to bath every night, but we found they settle better afterwards nowadays, so we went to daily. Our routine is usually about 7:30-8 bath then bed, can take til 9 to get both down. Tonight they were bathed and despite all the problems, down by 8. They wouldve been sooner if i had the extra help,at the time. Thats why it threw me, they wanted bed an hour earlier tonight. Wondering if its a one off because bedtime has been steadily getting earlier and earlier lately. No,complaits here though, we still stay in bed til 8am :)

Santiago has needed a feed since going down, but he had missed one by falling asleep with OH, so i expected it. Now waiting for Oh to get off the damn phone so we can have dinner!
Xx

Well we failed she's now on boob :) we've got music box playing in the background.

It's really dark here tonight, massive black clouds.

V&B I've got a TFK Joggster. It's a pram bit and you can take it off and change it into a buggy. It's a 3 wheeler and has a fixed wheel for jogging and off road and a swivel wheel for town, supermarket etc. I love it! Can't wait to get out jogging with Ella. Hope she likes it!

Have signed up for my first triathlon since having her - it's 2 weeks on Sunday ... eek!

Had a dream of an evening with Ella this evening. Fed her at 7 and she just chilled in OH's arms on the sofa watching telly with us! He took her upstairs at 9 and put her in her bed with this nightlight that plays heartbeat sounds. She flailed around for about 10 mins and then fell asleep sucking her thumb! If she sleeps through until 6 again, I really will be impressed!!

Nikki: your evening sounds like a nightmare! Hope you get a full night's sleep as a reward!

Bedtime starts at 7ish for us. We bath each night mostly due to the amount of sick and dribble through the day. Normally he's down between 8-9.30 but we're flexible.

He's had 3 doses of Gaviscon today and only sick twice, both quite soon after the feed. It may have helped or it may be the end of the leap/growth spurt. Who knows. He was a bit grizzly tonight, I'd fed him at half 7 but had to put him on again at half 8. Most of it was comfort sucking though. Much easier than last night but the dream is for no crying before bed... And he probably wore himself out with the rolling earlier. I expect to find him on his front in the night.

We're off to look at highchairs this weekend so we're prepared. After spoonfeeding the Gaviscon earlier I'm terrified about the mess he'll make when eating! I did get a free 10ml syringe for the Gaviscon which was so much easier.

Anyway I'm so rock n roll, it's Friday, 9.30 and I'm going to bed. FX the improvements continue tomorrow... xxx

Our bed time has moved forward by an hour also. He's now in the bath at 7 and fed and in bed by 8.30 tonight. He self settles beautifully now, we put him down turn on his mobile and give him a muslin to rub on his face and a dummy to suck. He's usually asleep with 10-15 mins. It use to Be that we put him down at 9 and he would spend an hour fussing and me running up and down the stairs, but it would seem he has learnt mummy isn't far.

We bath every night also, it seems to settle him more and he absolutely loves his baths and being naked afterwards lol.

Amy I'm so glad your had a better day with Evan, I really hope this is it for you. Oh and the video of him rolling is amazing! Clever little boy :)

Nikki I've said it before I'll say it again - superwoman! I know you've had a rough evening but you cope amazingly. And always seem to be able to achieve more than I do and I only had 1 lol

Knopk I don't breastfeed but I still get pulled, pawed and pinched whilst feeding lol

Couple of questions for you.

When do babies start to roll over? H is only young still, youngest on this thread I think?, but he's making no effort at all. I know all babies are different but if your lo has rolled over when did they begin and what did you do to encourage it? The only time he's ever rolled is accidentally when he was on his tummy. Talking of tummy time.....

How important is it? H still hates tummy time, I'm lucky to get a minute or 2 our of him before he kicks off :/ when his is down though he has good head control and can lift himself up the hole time he's on his tummy. But then he stresses and starts crying.mdo I carry on in the hope he'll get use to it, or do I just give up on it?

Our bedtime routine is bath around 6.45pm 7, then bottle read her a story then bed. I put her down with her musical sea horse on and off she goes.
I tend to bath every other night as she had mild eczema.

We're off to Cornwall tomorrow with the inlaws!! :-/ all packed and ready to go. Hope to leave 9ish tomorrow morning.
Got lots of toys ad books so hopefully the journey will be ok.
Have a good week

Emma, those cheecky monkeys really take it out on their mummies lol.
My eldest didnt roll from tummy to back until 8 months - he rolled the other way. He didnt like tummy time either.
He walked at 10.5 months though so i think its the case of different babies.
I would persevere with tummy time though x

By the way, I'm doing a 5k run for Poole Hospital Nicu as they were just incredible when Freddie was born. If anyone fancies sponsoring us here's the link...but please don't feel obliged!!! This is also a form of therapy for me to say thank you to the unit :-)

Aww jolly that's a lovely way to give some thing back :)

H had a better night last night. I gave him calpol before bed. He woke at 11:50. The 2:30. He then woke at 4:30 but I popped his dummy in and he went back off. He then woke at 6! Completely missing his 5am wake up. He's just fed and is now lay on the bed next to me, kicking and smiling. I'm really hoping he's feeling more himself today. We're going to take it easy today I think. Depending on the weather I thing I'll stick him in the sling and have a little walk.

Oh I need to go the shop and buy a cheap fish tank too. OH had to rescue the baby fish as the big fish were trying to eat them! They are currently swimming around in a pint glass lol

Have a lovely day everyone :) xx

D first rolled over about a month ago, so she was just over 3 months. Then she didn't do it again for a while, but now she's all over the place when she's on her mat. Just scattered her fave toys around and left her to it really? He'll do it soon enough I'm sure!

Daisy HATES tummy time! She grunts and flails her limbs, cries and I just can't sit and watch it!! Something I found that works is to put a thin cushion/folded towel on the front of the sofa cushion, then I put her down on her tummy so she's facing out and her head/chest is slightly raised. Then I sit on the floor in front of her and chat for a bit which keeps her entertained longer, usually get a bit more time that way. I think cos our heads are close to the same level? Might be worth a go?

Tapatalking!

Libby rolls front to back but not done the other way yet, she loves tummy time but when she was smaller I used to pop a rolled up towel under her chest to help.
