****April 2019 Mummies****

Welcome CJ!
Hope your all well, I am fighting off the flu. I have been bed ridden most of the week. Over the worst of it now thank God! I know they say it doesn't give you the flu but I did have the flu jab last week and I have been that ill I literally couldn't get out of bed xxx

Ah no MM! Hope your feeling better now, I’ve really been putting off the flu jab, I know I should just go and get it really, definitely going to book in for the whooping cough needle this week
Xx

You should be able to get both in one sitting. I felt fine after my flu jab, apart from getting a cold

Welcome CJ and congrats :)

Just a quick update from me - the results for my GTT came back today and apparently they're normal meaning no GD for now. I have to redo the test in January as it can show later in pregnancy and I'm only 19 weeks. Boo!

I'm having issues with the mental health referral to address the PTSD from my last labour, and all in all just lost faith in the NHS and its staff right now.

That’s good news about the GD results coming back normal :dance:hopefully the next test will
be tolerable lol and will also come back normal

Urgh how crap that your referral isn’t going smoothly, I hope it gets sorted soon, I mean it’s not like there’s unlimited amount of time to get professional help, there is kind of a huge deadline looming! I’m sure you don’t want to go into labour without having at least talked to a professional about your last experience
I’ve found the nhs care so far to be a bit disjointed, and it has annoyed me the way there’s different procedures and different things going on for everyone depending on where you live, for example the way most people got to listen to baby’s heartbeat at 16 week appointment and some of us didn’t, and just the different systems for booking appointments etc, so I can imagine how frustrated you are with something so important going wrong! Hope it gets sorted soon x

Does anyone know if we get antenatal classes anymore? That will probably be something which depends on where you live too no doubt! Xx

Thanks I am so much better just lingering cough and snot now. I can't believe how ill I was at one point. Just lying here now and little man is kicking away. I can feel it on the outside now and hubby has felt it too. You would think the novelty would have worn off by baby number 5 but it still amazes me every time. Love seeing how excited my kids get when they have a feel, none have stayed still enough to get a good feel yet.
I have the flu jab every year being a nurse and to be honest I am usually fine. I had both jabs at same time too it's probably just a coincidence that I became so ill I know they say it doesn't give you flu but who knows.
Great news on GTT I have my mine a few days before Christmas. They aren't that pleasant.
Disappointed for you on your referral I would definitely speak with your midwife and keep on at them you would benefit from some contact before the labour. I agree with night owl there's no consistency across the trust's on what care we receive but I am sure it all comes purely down to funding.
On the countdown for my repeat scan on Friday I have hubby coming with me it's his day off so that's nice. Surprisingly after my little Google last week I have barely thought about it since.
Hope everyone is well xxx

Well my friend is under the same midwife team as me but different surgery, I got to hear heartbeat and she didn't!!
I have also been told I have to go to a vbac clinic, she's been told its optional!! So it's varying within the same areas which is ridiculous.
I have my repeat scan on Friday too, GDD test on NYE of all days.
And I have a massive bruise from my whooping cough Jab last week!

Glad everyone is well and feeling better :)
As for antenatal classes my OH and I were booked in to 3 classes at our 16 week appointment!! So ages ago! I’d ring up and ask :) xx

Is anybody else not really feeling movements yet? I'm sure everything is okay, I'm just jealous!!

I’m not feeling a huge amount of movement, I have long periods where I don’t feel anything, but she tends to start up of a night when I’m lying still in bed, I get a few little kicks then xx

Thanks Night Owl.
I know that it will likely be because its my first and my placenta is at the front, I'd just like to know what's going on in there lol.

Im the same as well Ash, every now and then i will feel something, but nothing overly obvious x

Me either and my placenta is at the back! Hopefully in the next couple of weeks xx

No classes for me I might reach them myself being number 5 haha!
I get lots of movement but tends to be of a night and feeling on outside now. I think that's pretty normal with your first I remember it being week 22 plus feeling anything xxx

I reckon we could learn a lot more from you than anyone who takes these classes  x

I’m not sure about what everyone else’s plans are for going on maternity leave - but due to my heart condition and the fact I have a very active job where I’m on my feet all day, I’ve decided that I’m going to take my maternity leave early at about 32 weeks. (Plus I’m likely to get induced at 37 weeks due to my condition also so it would technically only be 5 weeks early) I’m going to be discussing this with my heart doctor tomorrow but he’s very supportive and I know he will encourage whatever I feel is best. The only reason I’m mentioning this is because.. and I’ve just been thinking... this only means there’s 9 WEEKS LEFT until I go on maternity leave!!! How crazy is that?! Xx

Omg how lucky are you Jomo!!! I'm trying to stick it out if I can. I've planned to start maternity leave 2 weeks before due date but I'm going to take 2 weeks leave so I'll finish work on 15th March... So that's 10 weeks once I'm back after Christmas! Trying not to count down until after Christmas. We r moving house on 21st December so got lots to keep me occupied until then anyway!

Planning on going off at end of March, 2 weeks before my due date, can’t wait! but I have so much work to close off before I go off, work is super stressful at the moment and it’s making me nervous!

Ooh fabulous jomo, not long to go at all eek! It makes it feel so real!! X

I am planning on working as late as i can, so a week before my due date  but you just never know what is going to happen.
The thought of only being off for 9 months makes me quite sad :-( we just cant afford for me to have longer off.x

I'm exactly the same IVW.. I would love to take longer off but we just can't afford it! It's stressing me out just thinking of living off SMP for 9 months!!! We will be over £1,000 down and we don't have £1,000 a month spare at the moment so I just don't know how it's going to work!! How they think anyone can live on £145 p/w is just beyond me!!
I am finishing at the end of March and will have 7 days annual leave to take which takes me to the 10th April, 2 days before my due date. I just hope the little man isn't late as I want as much time with him as possible!!! xx
