**** April 2015 Mummies ****

Hi Lizzimay, tell me about it! Scary or what? Exciting too of course. I dont know bout you guys but my baby girl now packs a bigger punch almost at the ouch stage lol. Last night as I was drifting off to sleep (approx 1.30ish - takes me longer to get comfortable now) she started kicking and kneeing me (thats my guess anyway) for about 10mins every 2mins or so...Was wrong time of night to switch light on and watch but feel that they were strong enough would have seen a foot lol...she calmed down after that but instead of just the kick I felt there was a lot of pressure building in that area first as if she was nudging hard then kicking...who knows...she isn't far off my ribs now (probably an inch or so) and my innie is almost an outie when I stand up, its very shallow and flat when sit/recline on sofa...anyone else noticed how soft that skin is? you don't normally feel it soft due to it being taught lol...

Exciting Lizziimay was that the 3d? We looked at that one too.
I'm definitely feeling like something is crammed right up beside my ribs kitten and movements are getting higher. They seem shy and only kick for me and daddy, last night I told my mum to feel and they stopped. Did it with my OH as well at first but they seem to recognise his voice now and happily show off when he chats to them.

My baby feels super low! Like I'm feeling movement in my ladies area!! Feels weird feeling baby so low down! My son was never ever that low. He just wasn't interested at all!

2 days until I am officially Tri 3. Whoop!

I've also started feeling the baby really low and to my left side. Baby is already head down so I hope that she stays that way!

Ohh, fingers crossed. I have my 28 week appointment a week on Wednesday so will find out exactly where baby is hanging out as I'm getting a scan too. I'd love it if this baby actually goes into the pelvis as my little terror of a son never did

I'm not sure if I'm starting with SPD :(

My back ache is not easing whatsoever, even with paracetamol and a heat patch all day. It gets progressively worse. I've felt it in my groin and hips and lady night my buttocks. Bending is agony too :(

Any advice? How is spd diagnosed? Do I need to see my midwife or dr to rule it out? xxx

With my backache I went to my GP who told me to self refer to a pregnancy physio the number was in my maternity notes and I got seen pretty quickly but different areas might have different processes. Mines wasn't SPD so I can't help you with that but hopefully you get some relief.

I'm jealous of all you getting scans. I was determined I wouldn't get another one but thinking it might help me bond better with the baby. I'm really struggling talking to bump as I feel like I'm just talking to myself. Then I had an idea we could take my mum and MIL on mothers day for a private scan followed by lunch but is that a selfish present and a cop out way of saving money because I would gain so much from it too?

Chazabell, best bet is to speak to your midwife about it. My GP said it was lower back pain! It was my midwife who actually diagnosed me as SPD.

If you can afford it, think about going to see a chiropractor about it, I started seeing one last week, and she said if I'd gone when symptoms first appeared then it would never have gotten as bad as it is for me (I'm off work as I can't stand or walk for more than 5 minutes with being in agonising pain)

I have my whooping cough vaccine today :-/ I hate needles with a passion and this vaccination I've got to do on my own as well as OH couldn't get the time off work to come and give me moral support :-(

Hi Cossie me too horrible needles n they're taking my wk28 bloods at same time.

Good luck kitten! I'm sure we'll both be fine in the end but it's the build up to it!

I've just read that the Feb mummies group have just had their first feb baby born! This time next month it'll be the March mummies and then our turn!! It's all getting far too real as time goes by...

Needles don't overly bother me, however, I never watch when my bloods are taken.

Needles are an issue for me too, I had to take someone in with me to get my flu jag. Got my whooping cough on the 2nd of Feb and have my 28 week MW appointment the next morning so not good planning on my part but she hasn't mentioned anything about taking bloods. I've only had bloods taken at my booking appointment.

Phew, all done! The nurse was amazing! :D I explained that I didn't particularly like needles and she said that's fine we can work around it. She then started asking me about my pregnancy - how it was going did I know what I was having etc and before I knew it she told she'd done it!! Incredible! Granted it now feels like Mike Tyson has just punched me in the arm but I'll live :)

I've had bloods taken at booking in, 16 week and 28 week appointments CDx so it is likely they'll do bloods at your 28 week appt.

As much as I hate needles, I'm starting to think I'm getting used to being used as a pin cushion!

My midwife said if ur having the gtt they do that at 27 weeks with all ur bloods and go over results at 28week appointment. If ur not having gtt then they take bloods at 28 week appointment and go over results at next visit.
Btw I had my whooping cough jab yesterday and its given me a bit of a dead arm.

My arm is slowly feeling deader and deader (if that's even a word!) as the day goes on aimee!

Had my 28 week appt today! Bump is measuring 30cm so they're sending me for growth scans! Not to worried as i measured off the chart all the way through with DD and she was 6lb2! Just another added stress!
I'm regretting saying i will work until 36 weeks! Im absolutely exhausted! DD is poorly so none of us have slept since Friday! & the children i look after (teenagers) are being a pain in the arse! They haven't even advertised for my replacement yet :-/ Midwife suggested i alter my dates and go at half term when i will be 33 weeks. But not decided what to do yet!
She didnt mention the Whooping cough vaccine actually!

I'm going at 36 weeks too Em and my boss hasn't even mentioned replacing me let alone advertise for it! I should be ok as I've so much to clear up before I leave! I'm just taking each day as it comes :)

OH has just texted me to say that he's booked a table at a pub/restaurant near us for dinner tonight as a treat :) He's too good to me sometimes!

Yep cossie13, a day on and my arm feels very sore and not quite there typing was difficult lol.
Em I measured 30 too yesterday but midwife said not to read too much into it at this point, ur lucky u get an extra scan :-)

I'm not finishing work till 38 weeks wondering if I should have said I'd finish earlier but not feeling too bad atm, will see how I go .

Glad everyone is getting on well x

I'm getting growth scans too. I see them as a bonus. Woohoo. I get to see baby in a week. I can not wait!

Urgh. My little boy isn't very well at the moment. he's badly constipated, has a sore bum, runny nose and I am sure his final set of (big) knashers are threatening to come through too! Poor lad. He has only just settled (I think), and bedtime was an hour ago. If he is teething, I'll be glad for them to come through before baby arrives in April!

All this to look forward to ladies :-)
