**** April 2015 Mummies ****

I wouldn't have thought energy drinks would be allowed? Simply because they give you a buzz, I had my hubby's coffee by accident in the early days and I was shaking like a leaf!! Haven't had anything other that 1 cup of caffeine tea each morning. I'm living on decaf. Inc coke. But I know a little every now & then won't do any harm. My hubby has said I'm allowed a glass if wine too....but I've not drank since June so I'm not overly fussed or missing it!

Sorry you are having rubbish weeks Prettypee & Rooster, big hugs xxxx

Wow, that site really does suggest that 2 cans of energy drink is ok! Doesn't mean that's what I'm going to do but it does mean I feel a lot less guilty! Especially as I don't drink alcohol (even pre-pregnancy) and I don't smoke either - something I'm actually quite proud of :)

Exactly! I've switched to decaff tea&coffee as im not overly fussed tbh. But I've had the odd can of coke at a meal out & i consume a reasonable amount of chocolate!
I think its one of those personal decision common sense things. you read the facts and use them to make your own informed decisions. Personally i dont dirnk alcohol whilst pregnant, as i have absolutely no desire for it, why risk my baby for a glass of wine?! But many do & its their body, their baby so therefore their choice (unfortunately in some cases!)

However I've still had runny eggs (lion stamped) & i had a couple of mr whippys in the early stages!

Had my glucose test today. Plus my 28 week bloods. Baby girl is still very active and sometimes it hurts when she kicks. Looking forward to last shift at work on sun. I'm taking maternity at 29 weeks due to split shifts, busy shifts and eating patterns not right. Will b glad for some rest.

I have never drunk alcohol/tea/coffee so my caffeine intake is purely through any fizzy drinks I may have and chocolate - which as stated earlier was ALOT during Tri 1 due to my MS, not so much now though, thank goodness.

Has anyone else started lactating yet? Took me a few days to realise why my sheets were getting wet patches when sleeping!

No lactating here - but some women only start after birth so trying not to think anything of it

I have but not the runny kind. Kept seeing white/yellow flaky bits assuming its milk thats curdled??

Oh I'm not saying I'm going to have a glass of wine. Nothing is worth risking the health of our baby. I'm planning to breast feed too so won't be drinking until I've finished feeding my baby myself and by that point hopefully I won't like the taste anymore lol!!

My right boobs has started producing something. I've not looked into it yet. I'm assuming it's colostrum, but it's a deep yellow which doesn't look right to me :eh:

I'm having to take a back up formula to hospital with me as I had duct ectasia when I was 18 and had a good amount if ducts removed by surgery and as of yet....my left boob hasn't started to do anything where my right has. How do you choose a formula?

I think we are almost set for his arrival now. Next to me crib is in our room and room is rearranged. Just my stuff to complete for hospital bags.

Question...how many pairs of socks do you have for baby? And what are the best you have found? Do they wear then under baby grows? I cannot find really chunky folded top socks and wondered if there was an alternative xxxx

Chazabell: formula really is about personal preference, loads of people I know swear by SMA, for me it was always going to be Cow and Gate. Have a look at prices etc, they all have websites as well.
With regards to lactating, you can squeeze gently round your nipples to try and get wee drops of milk, but milk doesn't come in properly until after baby is here, so I wouldn't worry too much if you don't get any before baby arrives :) xx

We started our son on SMA but switched to Cow & Gate and he was much happier on that. I'll be taking Cow & Gate with me just incase BF doesn't agree with my baby.

Yes if I squeeze the right I get the golden yellow stuff which Google has confirmed is colostrum. Left does nothing.....yet!! I'm taking in formula do I'm prepared but not feeding formula unless I absolutely have to, I really want to breast feed.

Hubby has gone to the match so I'm going to do some formula research with decaf tea and some cookies :) xxxx

Nothing flakey & yellow.

Maybe it's dried up leaked colostrum? xxx

If put my money on it being that, just because if the colour of colostrum I have xx

No lactating here. I've bought some breast pads after a friend advised I did as a precaution so I've those at the ready!

Oh my days!! The heartburn I've suffered with today!! I really hope this doesn't mean I'm due to give birth to a gorilla!!!
