**** April 2015 Mummies ****

It's quite sad :(

I wish I had something to report but baby is very happy and comfy!

I know :-( And likewise. Nothing happening at all here! Just have the odd BH (I think) but that's about it. Doesn't feel like anything is going to happen imminently.

I'm exactly the same! Mild pains occasionally but I think that's just from baby wiggling around. Bump only gets hard when baby moves to a certain position. No signs of BH and no back ache, so it'll all very dull here!

I am getting the occasional back ache but nothing that makes me think labour in en-route! So dull! From the lack of labour symptoms it really does not feel like due date is only 4 days away!

Hi rooster & lizzimay, looks like you guys are needing some cheering up... : )

If it helps rooster i had no imminent labour signs n just started hard n fast tuesday...now i look bak there were a couple of signs - occasional bak ache/hip pain suddenly intensified for 2days prior, cats followed me everywhere monday and also had chinese sun night, forgot had leftovers mon n made huge carbonara pasta for lunch that day n next then remembered had leftovers so had huge pasta to munch little n often during early labour...which was great as OH had plenty to be gettin on with lol...

Anyways Phoebe is a little darling, still cant believe she's mine! didnt manage to feed her thur as was catchin up on sleep/food and gettin organised n she seemed to want to sleep whole day but that night we tried hand expressing but no immediate success. As we were so shattered we used starter pak formula with a pipette to get somethin down her whilst trying to encourage association with the nipple...we then tried a hospital grade pump that inally encouraged the let down n produced colostrum. we pumped n fed colostrum all day n she was slowly startin to coo for it but got so frustrated at qty and still didnt latch. faced with a very long night of 30mins expressing, 30mins feeding then repeat one n half hrs later we decided to use formula with the bottle n she drank it up. my intention is to express during the day as additional to formula whilst i have colostrum then decide whether to go combo or just formula. Expressing is tiring/tender n time consuming so after the two day labour on 5hrs sleep over 3 days, it is very tempting to stop trying as now fighting tiredness from regular feeds...every day we keep planning on taking it in turns with feed (esp as now bottle) but time keeps running away from us and it rolls over to next day...sigh...we will of course persevere with expressing as it will be worth every drop to Phoebe when my milk comes in... : )

...sorry for the war and peace - got carried away ; )

Good morning ladies. How are you today? Myself I had another half sleepless night it 's been happening quite often for the last month. Just waking up for no reason and can't go back to sleep and the time is just dragging. At least I am lucky enough for not needing a toilet at night time even at 39wk pregnant. My toddler has got conjunctivitis and I am having a c-section tomorrow. A bit worried as she won't be able to come and see me till it clears up. I've started the drops for her and really hope it will clear it up soon.

I didn't know you were having a c-section tomorrow! Good luck! I hope your girls eyes get sorted soon :-)

Thank you Rooster! This morning she couldn't even open one eye poor thing...Keep cleaning it as often as we can and giving some drops so see how it goes...
I've mentioned about having a c section 3 weeks ago....but at that time this forum was very busy so was easy to miss something :)))) For me it still feels a bit unreal can't believe 9 months have past already. Keep getting few cramps (doesn't feel like contractions though)so hoping things won't start beforehand. Hope the rest of you ladies won't have to wait long for your babies!!!

good luck tomorrow :-) i couldnt sleep either, max is teething and even when he was asleep i was up for about 2 hours for no reason :( currently waiting for him to need his morning nap so i can get back into bed for a while! 39 weeks tomorrow and no signs :( just so uncomfy and pressure, im walking like john wayne! no pains of any sort though :( xxx

How is she reacting to the eye drops? My son absolutely hated them and it ended up being pot luck if any actually made it into his eyes!

Aww. It's not fun being at the tail end here and hope the rest of us April Mummies have our babies soon. At least we are in good company with the Duchess of Cambridge awaiting her April baby too!

I bet she is just as fed up and impatient as us remaining April mummies!

Thank you Rebecca!!!
Same here Rooster. She hates it but we're trying our best to make sure that some of the drops actually do reach the eyes (kids don't like the drops because they can sting a bit)... I've read that after 24 hours of starting antibiotic drops conjunctivitis is not contagious anymore... I really hope so!!! At least the yellow discharge has slowed down a bit if to compare to how it was yesterday...What a timing hey?

Not great! They know when to get poorly. My son was in hospital for two days last week - thank goodness labour didn't start then!

Good luck for tomorrow Gracie.
I hope the rest of you ladies aren't waiting too much longer, im missing my bump and feeling his kicks from inside already!

Hey ladies! I'm having trouble uploading photos it seems but just to let you know that my little girl was born at 09:30 this morning! Her name is Kimberley! I had literally 3 hours of manageable contractions and SIX hours of pushing as the little minx was posterior facing! If she would have been forward facing the midwife recons she would have been out by 5! She was born at home in a birth pool and I can't even tell you how beautiful and peaceful it was.. Dispite the growling, effing, blinding and screaming when the head was coming out! My 5 year old was present and loved being part of it (he even saw her head once it had been born and wasn't remotely freaked out!) will post a labour thread/ birth story later x

Lizzii and Rebecca - just us three left after Graci has her c-section tomorrow! (Well we have Dodsy and Kelly too but haven't heard from them in a while?). Crikey, can't believe our April Mummies Tri 3 thread is almost all wrapped up!

Midwife appointment tomorrow. I have no idea what to expect. Will I be checked down below?!

Gosh not many of us left at all, feel like I have ages to go yet! I think some of the May mummies are starting to have their babies now.
I'm having a sweep at my 40 week midwife appointment so will definitely be getting checked down below!

Having some pains today on and off but nothing major.
