***** October 2015 Mummies ******

Morning ladies, wow its crazy to think not that long ago we were all miffed at how we just looked a bit porky rather than pg and now we're planning on packing our hospital bags! !

I've decided to go shopping over the bank holiday weekend to get everything for my bag, I'm a sucker for karma and don't want to jinx anything by doing it too early. I start my parentcraft lessons then, so all going on!

Had my 28wk mw apt yesterday, and everything is measuring bang on. Slightly taken back by the phrase "your wee is fantastic" being used but hey Ho! I mentioned the 2.5st I've already put on to her and how much of a shock it had been to hear that. Made me feel better when she told me she herself had gained 5st in pregnancy! ! :O

Hi ladies, can't believe you're already in tri 3!! Hope everyone's pregnancies are going well. I'm on the verge of moving into tri 2 now so a little way behind you all.

Just wanted to wish you luck for the coming weeks with your births xx

So, guess who started putting some items out ready for the hospital bag last night...

Wow Petchy, you are so organised :) Will you be taking one bag for all or separating your and baby stuff?

Whilst seemingly organised, I don't do organised when it comes to packing. Will use just one bag (small suitcase) and to start off witn I'll put my things to one side and baby stuff on the other - but within 5 minutes of opening it it will all be a massive chaos

Packing and chaos always go together! I think I may ask OH to pack my bag since he is way better at packing and organizing!

I was essentially planning on taking one suitcase with mine, baby and OH's stuff but finally decided to keep baby stuff in a separate bag. Hopefully that will help minimize the chaos

Well done on getting your bag started petchy! that's some pretty impressive organisation skillz :)

I've been buying bits for my bag but nothing has been put in the bag just yet. A friend gave me a good tip - she said to pack everything into separate bags - labour ward bag, a bag for your room and a bag for the baby's things and if possible to put everything into clear bags to make it easier to find stuff. She suggested those bags that you get new duvets in but as I didn't have any of those I bought some vacuum bags and a clear storage bag in a poundshop-type-shop. These three bags will then go into my cabin sized suitcase. I might also have a small bag for my DH which will include a change of underwear, snacks and things like that.

I'll probably start putting things into it in the next few days. I might try to buy a coming home from the hospital outfit for the LO before I do that though

I've started packing my bag already. Even though I'm planning a home birth I go out and about a lot with my 2 year old so it'll be in the car when I'm out and in the house when I'm at home :)

:waves: hey pumpkin nice to hear from you, that's great news you are nearly in tri 2 congrats :) it will be tri 3 before you know it lol!!!

30 weeks today

Just back from my MW appointment, everything looks fab. Baby is seemingly growing well, fundal height is following a perfect curve. My blood pressure is (strangely enough) better than at any of the previous checkups, yay! HB levels well within normal range and no sugar or protein in my urine.

I'd managed to correctly work out how she is positioned too, MW confirmed she is head down and her back is all the way towards my right side. Judging by movement patterns she has been mainly in that position the last few weeks. She is very welcome to remain head down now that she seems to have worked out where the "exit" is ;)

Great news, P! It's such a blessing to hear that everything is progressing well :)

Re. baby position - is it painful when the mw checks it? Does she do a lot of pushing and probing? I have my appointment next week and keep thinking about it. Thanks!

No, I've never experienced palpating as painful - so don't worry about it. If baby is pushing towards your bladder you might feel like you need a wee when the MW has a feel of the bump, but it definitely shouldn't be painful :)

I found down low was quite tender when she pushed
I had already peed too so never had that excuse!

Im totally lost here
Im looking at cot mattresses to buy
Anyone got any guidance?? So many to choose from
I dont even know what a good price range is for one!

Yhh no experience here but my friend got one from Ikea and is very happy with it. Tbh they all look the same!! Probably good idea to read online for some reviews. Don't buy the most expensive tho, higher price doesn't always guarantee the quality.

Ps. hubby came back home yesterday with 1,000 cotton wool balls  It shows he has been paying attention at the antenatal classes

In past I brought cot mattress from Mothercare own brand for about 50 quid and also Smyths if that helps, just read reviews before you buy.

I'm often quite tender low down on bump during examinations, but think its do with my pelvic bone and that I've previous sections, so its probably quite common for some x

Fingers crossed you get some good news tomorrow x
Got MW next week, think I will ask baby's position, they always seem in such a rush to get me out that I feel I never have time to ask any questions. Has everyone had whooping cough jab?

There wasnt a nurse around at my 28w appt
So getting my whooping cough jab at my 31w appt x

whooping cough jab not been mentioned at all. I may have to enquire next appointment.
