***** October 2015 Mummies ******

i have major placenta preavia. Just a precaution.

Will you just be kept in for observation or are they planning on giving you a section early? Wow not long so till you have to be admired, how are you feeling about it Georgesmum?

Anyone packed their hospital bag yet?? x

I've made a list and the plan is to start putting things in this week. I like being organised - with so many other aspects of pregnancy and birth being totally out of my control it is something I can actually DO. Plus, I find the whole prepping the nursery, washing and folding little clothes, packing the hospital bag etc to be kinda therapeutic, if that makes sense. Like a way of mentally preparing for birth and a new family member.

We got back home from hols saturday night, and have now officially started project "get the dog used to not sleeping in our bed". He's an 8 year old miniature poodle, and has always slept in OH's bed, ever since he was a little puppy. We don't want him associating the baby with being kicked out of the bed, so we thought it best to start now. So as of last night, he sleeps in a dog bed in the living room. The whimpering is making me feel really mean though! (However, I must admit: I did sleep a lot better last night, without him in the bed - he's only tiny, but he moves around and likes to snuggle up to us in funny positions)

Good luck with the dog, sounds a good idea - you sound so organised!

Petchy i started that with our dog too, hes 9yr old and 6 stone Lab - He doesnt leave much room for anyone else. Hes actually been really good with it :)

I have no idea when to start packing my hospital bag, plus i need to go get everything for it, is 36 weeks too late to pack it? (im not that organised LOL!!)

Barbara its good that they are taking it seriously and keeping an eye on you, you could very well be the 1st 'October' mummy :) xx
Hows everyone today?

Georgesmum, hopefully you can keep the baby in for a bit longer but most importantly you are being looked after x

Petchy, well done! I hope you manage to keep the dog out of the bedroom. We have tried and FAILED with the cat... I blame OH, he is too soft when it comes to our furry baby!

Girls, I'm just back from the 1st antenatal class about taking care of your newborn and I am overwhelmed with information!!! There is so much to remember... how to wash them, how to dress them etc. Hope it all falls into place once she is here x

Hello ladies just being nosey and popping in from September Mummie's , how you all doing?

Petchy how many week are you now? I started early too, kept everything tucked away and then last week packed it in to my bag, I'm the same I liked having the control over it and it felt very relaxing.

KHTW don't worry about all that - I've been told maternal instinct will kick in and we will all be here still for help and support xxxx

I'm 29+5 - cannot believe I'll be 30 weeks on Wednesday

Off to collect a couple of free "goodie boxes" now :) Curious to se what they contain! Nappy samples and nursing pads, no doubt :P

I love lists! :D

Omg 30 weeks tomorrow - just don't know where time has gone! Sorry not been on here very much, everything is whizzing by!

Finish work 7 weeks on Fri - not long!!

How's everyone feeling?

Anyone got a birthing ball out yet? Thinking of dusting mine out for some gentle exercises xx

Gail I wrote a list per room for our house, they're not complete yet but it makes you feel so much better.

I've still to write the baby list and the hospital bag list.

Chloe I'm suppose to be using mine since 16 weeks for my pelvis ... It's sitting in the cupboard lol! I'm 31wks tomorrow I thinknits going quick too & I finish up work 7 weeks on Friday too xx

The time flying for us, got plenty to do before October! Made a start on buying stuff for hospital bag- after my anti D jab earlier, still got few things to do around the house before getting baby stuff ready.

Tomorrow is our 2nd attempt for our 4d scan!

That sucks, but chin up, you will definately be in the right place, rather the hospital, than at home if you were to bleed. Will be good chance to get some rest before bubs makes an appearance, I do remember vaguely how tired I was when bubs arrived! Have you got stuff organised to keep you occupied when you have to go into hospital.

For those with furry friends, I think they say to bring baby grow home from hospital which baby has slept in & giving it to dog/cat etc..before bringing baby home!! Never had to go through this myself, but might be worth a try!
Peachy I'm jealous at your level of organisation, im hoping to get lots done when I go off on maternity leave, just not motivated enough at moment to get started!

Well I've more or less completed my list
Its broke down into single tasks
Of which there are 130 things!!!!!

Now im going to colour code it as to which I am able to do and which hubby has to do himself
And im going to separate out into another list of what is still to buy
From wall stickers to change bag to nursing bras!
I love lists but I think I've sickened myself at the prospect of having all that to do in the next 8 weeks
I want it complete for me going off on maternity then as I'll probably need to go more easy and will likely just deep clean then if im able to and will work quite hard on desensitising the dog. He has anxiety problems im going to need to solidly work on and hopefully in December the behavioural specialist will come out to work with us x
