going overdue does suck and everyday feels like a week

little emily is just chilling out reserving all her energy so she can keep you on your toes she will be so worth the wait and you will look back and just think wasnt that bad waiting, have you had loads of people asking if you have had her ect i think this makes it worse

Yes the texts and posts on fb are starting to do my head in, and I know that people are just being nice and getting excited because I've done it myself not meaning any nastiness at all. Although sometimes I wonder what planet some people are on, I've clearly been on fb regularly today and then I get posts "is baby not here yet" I just want to reply......do you think I would be playing Farmville and posting pointless comments on fb if I was in labour I think I might lose it with someone if its still the same at the end of the week

Next sweep is on Wednesday, so we'll see how things are then. My back is sore!

Aww hugs pinky, I totally know how it feels. The more people text/posted on Facebook the more I got upset. I found the best thing to do every morning was to update my status saying 'still here' and that stopped the messages and texts.

Pains are coming between 10 & 5 minutes now. The bath has intensified them. I have my mum on standby for the kids and told her to take her phone to bed with her. I feel quite chilled out and can't quite believe this may be the start of it.

Just been following all the goings on.

Pinky when did you have your first sweep? My due date is tomorrow and its Not looking likey I got quite excited this morning as had the period type pain start last night continued althrough the night and this morning so I really thought something was going to happen but then it all stopped this afternoon and nothing. I don't have a consultant appointment till thursday and the midwife/consultant never mentioned when I would receive a sweep as babys head was 2/5 last appointment and since 36 weeks they both were sure baby would be here before due date. But still here.

Can't imagine pinky,catty and PP how Your feeling as I'm not even over due yet and feeling fed up already.

Good luck catty and PP fingers crossed your little ones are with you soon.

Definetly happening here.

I just lost another big gloop of brown plug, I thought it all went on Friday but obviously not.

Had my tea then a bath which didn't really help much as it was too cold. I think someone told me not to have too hot a bath or it could stop labour, is that true? Anyway pains have continued and are getting much stronger now. I just tried to see if I could get some sleep but no chance, pains every 10 minutes lasting about 45 secs each.

I'm really scared now. I've never been in a lot of pain before so I don't know how well I will cope. Already I'm starting to struggle a bit.

PP - great news, I'll race you My OH has predicted 7pm tomorrow evening for my LO's arrival and I have gone for 3pm. What's your prediction.

Pinky - I feel bad leaving you behind x

Catty, take some codeine or paracetomol, that's what they give you in hospital. I will predict 3pm ish tomorrow as well, girls were born 3.16pm & 3.33pm so will go for 3.00-3.30pm. I have quite long drawn out labours so not expecting it to happen anytime soon.

Like you I've lost some more plug but also needed a number 2 as well (sorry tmi).

Thanks PP I will take some paracetemol. I love having a labour buddy.

I just called the hospital to let them know that I was in labour and the woman was a bit rude really. I explained that I knew I wasn't ready to come in yet but just wanted to let them know what was going on. She basically said 'why are you calling now then' and made me feel a bit stupid. Oh well, at least it will stop me caving and going in too early.

I have just sent my OH off to bed. At least one of us should try and get some sleep tonight.

Hey littlestar midwife tried to give me a sweep on Friday (due date) but she couldn't perform it properly, cervix was too far back. Have another sweep booked for wednesday and booked in for induction on the 24th if she hasn't arrived, praying she's here before then though! Are you seeing midwife before Thursday? when you get a sweep seems to depend on where you live, I was surprised I was offered one on my due date. Here's hoping you don't go too far overdue! Congrats on your due date tomorrow. Come on more often and keep me company in the over 40 wks club

And, pinky I notice how people comment to u on there all the time about emilys arrival, can defo see it being annoying as much ad people are trying to be nice! pinky - ur comment about farmville really made me laugh... i'm cringeing already at the thought of taking Josie to nursery tomorrow... EVERY day now (and i'm not even due til thursday) abour 5 of the mums say "still here then" "haven't you had that baby yet" etc etc drives me effin nuts!!! then normally my sis or dad rings and says something similar... grrrrr..and they KNOW i went 2 weeks over with Josie and that it wound me up then aswell!!!!

oh well got a sweep on tues at 3:30...be interesting to hear what they got to say and if they can do one although i'm not holding out any hope this time!!!!

Hello Heidi and treeze! Treeze you can also keep me company its when they say "have you not had that baby yet" and you're standing there speaking to them with a HUGE bump........ would be good if you're able to be sweeped! (just had an image of a sweeping brush )

Just got a text from PP so I've started a thread in the labour and birth section xx

Morning ladies.

This labour business is so frustrating. Got all the way up to 1 minute long contractions every 4-5 mins at around 3am then got in the bath and they died off to every 10 mins agin. Since then I have worked my way back up to every 7 mins but now I'm up and about they are coming faster (every 5 mins) but only lasting about 30 secs and much less intense.

I just wish they would do something one way or the other so I can either have a baby or sleep. Either would be fine right now.

Good news about PP. At this rate she'll have had her baby before I even get to hospital
