May mummies and rainbows to be :) the wait is nearly over!

Hope you're feeling ok today Betty x

Baby woke me up last night thumping around in there. He was giving me some really bad cervical pains. I'm seeing the midwife later.

Betty I hope your little one is here by now.

Dovekie that sounds promising, maybe he is getting ready to exit!

Rachel I can't believe you have to wait so long to get tongue tie sorted, they run a weekly clinic here so as soon as diagnosed you can go and get it sorted. My little dude has tongue tie too but I'm not having his snipped as he can feed fine. My midwife told me he had it as I didn't realise it wasn't normal as my tongue is the same!

I bled for three weeks although the last week was barely anything and I was only on one pad a day. I've started bleeding a bit today, would that be af already at 4 weeks 5 days? I'm a bit surprised as I thought I ovulated at the weekend!

I thought the other day I should swap from pregnancy journal to parenting, will also pop over to the new thread! Exciting times, we have all been through so.much to get here I still can't quite believe it is real.

Betty, hope you're little one is here. I opted for the epidural rather quickly as I was only 2cm and my contractions were coming fast and thick. I also thought it would be a slow labour and was pretty sure it would result in a section, which it did, so it was the right call. Hope you found a way to manage the pain and are now cuddling you lo.

Snowbee, I've been searching for nursing tops and they are hard to come by. Why is everything in stripes or polkadots- I don't get it. I have one, a black vest top from mothercare and I'm thinking about getting the grey or navy one as well, but I need to find other tops and I'm not having much luck.

With tongue tie, another option is to use a nipple shield. I know some mums have found that works and prefer it over expressing all the time. I'm not keen on them, but I used one when my lb stopped latching and within a few days he was latching again, but he doesn't have tongue tie.

It really does feel like the end of an era. I can't believe at how quickly it all went, even though we all know at times, in the moment, it did seem to drag, especially tri 1. Looking forward to the baby & toddlers group and keeping in touch as we all adjust to out newest family members.

I've been busy visiting family this weekend. Just popped in to see how Dovekie and Betty are getting on.

Hope you're holding a little baby now Betty. If not, remember that if your body has already started the labour process by itself it bodes well that any augmentation shouldn't take too long. If you're worried about it taking too long and you're in pain, i found the epidural was great with my son. So that should be an option for you.

Good luck ladies!

hope your little baby is here now betty!

my bleeding goes from a little bit to loads again maybe it depends on how much im doing each day. not in any pain from my section now though apart from the bleeding i feel back to normal.

got aria weighed today shes finally over her birth weight at 7lb 15 :) she has reflux aswell she just projectile vomited all over herself and me out her mouth and nose! i have a wedge in her moses basket so shes not sleeping flat and she sleeps well in her bouncer because shes propped up a bit

Snowbee you are breastfeeding aren't you? I wouldn't expect it to be your period, breastfeeding can actually be used as a form of contraception and some women go months and months with no periods. However mine returned 8 weeks pp with daughter so I guess it could be. I would think its more likely to still be lochia and just caused by activity?

Hope betty has had her baby now!

I've never bought a nursing top, they are so overpriced! I just buy clothes that can be pulled down, or have buttons or even can pop a boob out a sleeve! If its high necked I just wear a vest top underneath and pull the top up and vest down. Xx

Yea Ibe heard about ebb and stopping periods. I never got that with my son 4 weeks later bam there was af lol. I felt cheated when I found out some women stop bleeding for ages!

Yes I'm ebf and not even been expressing, hence I was surprised I was having signs of ovulation at the weekend. I've not bled for nearly two weeks so seems weird it would suddenly start again. If anything I've done a bit less activity than usual the last two days, so wouldn't have thought I had dislodged anything that hadn't made it out. Weird!

Still no baby! Currently hooked up to an epidural and the pitocin drip! Baby hb dropped so almost emcs just now. Still only 3cm. Pretty sure this will end on a section - very similar story kabuk! Will update soon xx

Eh, well I'm totally confused now. The only appointment for induction they had left before 42 weeks was 41+1 (Thursday). I said I want to wait until 42, so she offered a sweep. I couldn't get one because she said baby's head was really low and my cervix was high and tilting backwards, behind it. So she couldn't tell me anything about my cervix. She's booked an appointment with a consultant tomorrow to discuss options and book an appointment for an induction or a section (because I asked about one) for a later date.

So, what does this high, tilted cervix mean for a vaginal birth??

It doesn't have any implications for a vaginal birth hun.

When I was pregnant with my son, I had 2 failed sweeps and they failed because my cervix was so high she couldn't even reach it! I had him vaginally.

XX

I have the same (and my son's birth was a dream!) So may has been lucky for babies unlucky for births!!!

After 48 hours of intense latent labour and every medical intervention under the sun resulting in emcs, our daughter Daisy Anne Lewis was born 19:27 30th may 2017 weighing 7lb15ozs. She eats like a trooper and despite all the trauma we are very much in love ❤❤ xx
