May mummies and rainbows to be :) the wait is nearly over!

Dovekie, she is called Sophie. Still deciding on middle name.
Glad they are aware dovekie, it's always best to be prepared, hope it's not an issue for you though.
Pebbles, that's what my epidural was like, it was bliss after the contractions. Like I say, the drip was what made them bad. If anyone needs the drip for induction then I would 100% recommend the epidural, esp as it isn't as restrictive xx

I think I would have opted for epi had I realised how quickly it would get painful, I thought it would take ages and was a bit caught out by how suddenly it got intense. I asked for more and they gave me pethadine, not sure whether that did much or not to be honest I was a bit out of it by that point. He was also back to back which probably didn't help. The pushing was ok until that last little bit as it just felt like it wasn't going to fit! That bit was a real effort both mentally and physically, not sure if that would have felt better with a epi?

However my husband did point out that while the last hour looked awful right after he was out I was fine and walking about with no after effects. I've been freaked out by the thought of the needle in the spine so at least I avoided that. I think it is a bit swings and roundabouts really!

Same. Mine we're manageable and then it hit me. Did you have the drip too? They told me pethidine is ineffective with drip as it makes contractions so strong that wouldn't do anything. I was like a zombie on the gas and air but it was amazing, it made me sleepy inbetween which was better I think xx

That's true and it's so individual. As long as they all get here safe and sound then that's all that matters. Now come on baby's, we need some more announcements xx

I had the drip during my labour with Cam to speed things up. I had g&a and a shot of diamorphine although I'm not sure the diamorphine stopped it hurting it made me sleep in between contractions. I'm not sure my hospital does walking epidurals so I I think if you get one you're pretty much bed ridden and can't move about at all.

That's what it was like with my son Emily. Couldn't walk, couldn't feel legs for hours xx

Ery I'm about an hour and a half away from Manchester I'm in Morecambe if you have ever heard of it xx

Kabuki.... got a geeky question for you. I need a new desktop and I've narrowed it down to two that fithe the requirements I need. But Im really stuck on which one to go for I'm leaning towards the hp... (I've had a lot of bad experience with acer) it's not going to be running major intense programs maybe a few photo editor's few games (I'm thinking mine craft and a few other low to moderate graphic capabilities) my budget is £500 tops. I don't need any peripherals. Anyhoo I've narrowed it down to
This

Or this

(I'd like to buy fro curry's coz I used to work there ;))

Just wondering if you can see anything I've majorly overlooked?
I know the i5 is a more powerful processor but the amd is still pretty decent. And I'm not adverse to upgrading the computer at a later date when cash flow is a bit better.... (is it 18yrs old the kids can start to pay rent lmso)

Yes I had the drip (and putting that in I think was the worst bit of all, I've got big bruises where my husband and midwife had to hold me down to get it in!). I never used to be bad with needles but now I can't even think about them without getting stressed.

Today is my due date, little dude is 9 days old!

Have you settled on a name yet hun of still undecided?

Which two are you trialling for him?

Not long to go now Nikki!

I've gone the other way with needles now snowbee used to be terrified of them now I'm not so bad. Still nervous about how many times I'll have to be drained with my new found iron disorder though never had a full pint taken from me before lol

Ery, I'm not a fan of Acer either. My last windows laptop was an Acer and never again. I've gone back to mac now. When I need a windows pc, I use my dw's. Although I would love to build another gamin desktop at some point.

I was really big on AMD for years and it's been hard to watch them fall behind. However, at this range, the difference in performance for your tasks isn't major. In regards to gaming and graphics, this AMD process will outperform the i5. You also get a dedicated graphics card instead of an integrated one. Plus, I like the SSD- that will add speed, assuming that's what your OS is running on. The motherboard will allow an upgrade to 16GB ram and you could always update CPU later if you really wanted. It has two pci slots, so it seems you could add another GPU. I doubt you'd need any of that for a while for what you're using it for. The ram is the most likely upgrade in the future.

I'm not mad on HP either, but definitely better than Acer. I haven't bought an actual desktop in over a decade- built my last two.

I completely agree with you! I too was always amd over Intel and the dedicated graphics definitely takes my fancy!
I was planning on building my own but I don't think I'll have the time so I was planning on doing what you suggested and just upgrading it further down the line. I had an old trusty hp laptop a few years back but both acers have been well.... more use thrown against brick wall after a months lol.

Thank you my mind is made up :)

Yay new computer and new freebies successful shopping trip!
