***** May 2015 Mummies to be *****

Fur birth balls I thought but was ok as long as hips are above your knees when u sit in ot, or at least level.

Yeh I thought it was hips above knees not the other way round?! The ones in hospital are huge, mine is a bit smaller but definitely no way of hips being below knees (and that sounds really uncomfortable)

So I am actually having contractions every 8 minutes at the moment... I don't feel like it is the real thing though... Going to try and sleep and see what happens.

How's it going monkeynut? Still going or has it settled down?
You're full term anyway? So yoi'd be happy if baby decided to show up? Xx

Morning ladies

How are you Monkeynut? Did you get some sleep or do we have news?! :)

Mayflower, I'm only 5.2ft but I have a 65cm ball, I also understood that your hips should be above your knees, and I can achieve that on a bigger ball.

Morning- no news really, I slept on and off, they continued most of the night but didn't get any closer together and have tailed off this morning after a bath. I have a lot of pressure load down and really bad back ache. Two midwifes have said to me that #3 often stop starts and gives a lot of false alarms so maybe it's that or maybe something is happening slowly?!
I'm 36+4 so not quite full term, though by my dates I'm 37+4 so I don't mind if he comes now, but would prefer him to hang on until Friday!

Hey everyone! 38 weeks today I honestly don't know where the time has went! Bit worried as when I was lying in bed yesterday morning I felt baby do an almighty movement and now my bump has totally changed shape, is very high and feels like nothing's at the bottom of it so I'm half expecting baby to be transverse again! Have a mw appointment at 3pm so will know more then. Also feels like everything is up in my ribs! I'm hoping not though, I've had enough of panic after last weeks 5cm shrinking of bump!
Does anyone have any experience of sweeps before due date? The consultant was talking about the possibility of me getting one at 39 weeks but I'm not sure of midwives will/can do this? X

I don't think they usually do sweeps before 40 weeks Kra0, but I could be wrong?

Nearly all of the April mummies have had their babies, there's only a couple of them left to go- they'll be handing over the baton shortly! So exciting! :yay:

So who wants to go next?! :good:

How did you get on kra0? Hopefully you're not joining the transverse club.

I can't believe April mummies are nearly done!! Our turn Woop!

Kra0, how was the appointment?

Durham, Jessie...that makes me feel a little nervous!!

Bigbee, take comfort that we're both second time mummies and excited ;) it's honestly not that bad x

Bigbee don't you think it's strange that we're due the same day. You're at home waiting and hoping for things to start and I'm in hospital long term with doctors making sure nothing starts lol. Crazy how different things can be.

Ladies I have a random itchy rash up both fore arms, I imagine it's just a reaction to hospital bed sheets/washing powder so don't want to mention it to midwives but it's not some crazy pregnancy hing I don't know about is it?

Jessie there is a thing called OC but Im sure its probably tye sheets and being in hospital and all that dry air!!

Good luck for tomorrow Durham!!

Urg I have some back lower back cramps tonight had a long shower and still here how can you tell if baby is back to back?

Durham, good luck for tomorrow!

Jessie, mayflower, that is pretty wierd isn't it! True what they say that no pregnancy is the same!

Jessie, I admire you for managing through all the uncomfort of SPD, and being in hospital...AND you have another child to worry about! I'm not sure how I'd manage if I were in your situation! Would have probably crumbled.

I think you're right button and probably just the sheets.

Thanks Bigbee, it's tough being away especially as my little boy has been to visit and it a little quiet which worries me but another week and a half an il be hope I get him back in to his routine.

Mayflower true I've had a baby before but I still have no idea what labour or contractions feel like lol.

Though saying that I've had quite bad stomach ache for last hour, they out me on monitor which comfirmed some activity and tightenings but now enough to examine and possibly disturb anything inside so they're leaving me in the hope that if anything is happening it settles in the nigt which I'm sure it will.

Jessie mention the itching to the midwife as they can tell with a blood test if it's oc. My community midwife said my itching was my skin stretching but they took my bloods after my section to check for infections and my liver bile salts were indicating that I had oc. My itching was my hands and feet and legs with no rash and it was a burning itch if that makes sense. Better to be safe than sorry hun xxx

Thanks casey, I thought OC was just hands and feet though? Mines just my forearms? It's worse on the one with my hospital wristband on so I've taken that off to see if it makes a difference. They won't like it though lol. If still the same tomorrow il mention it, I've put some cream on tonight to see if it helps.
