***** May 2015 Mummies to be *****

I agree with what others have said regarding section recovery. Drink plenty afterwards, take it easy also and keep on top of painkillers for a couple of weeks. I kept thinking I didn't need them anymore until they had fully worn off but after 2 weeks is only when I didn't need them and I'm pretty much healed now and have no pain. Also taking the dressing off isn't as bad as you think it will be. I was dreading it but it didn't hurt at all! Xxx

Mayflower I've suffered terribly with constipation over last few weeks, midwife said quite common at this stage.

Good luck Jen I can't wait for news!

I've jus had a scan and baby currently weights 6lb 10! Full term babies can weigh that so he's a good size. I wish they'd do section at 38 weeks not 39 :( xx

Hi ladies

Major update from me unfortunately. I woke this morning and realised that I'd not really felt baby move much. I had a cold drink, nudged baby, lay on my side etc- still nothing, so I called the midwife and they asked me to come in for monitoring.

On the way to hospital baby moved and put our minds at rest, but I still had the trace to be sure. The midwife had a feel of my tummy and suggested that baby might have moved position and that was why I'd not felt movement. They decided to scan me to check and found by is transverse!

So now my story is exactly the same as Jessie, only they've admitted me straight away. We're trying to sort out having Blake looked after so OH can still go to work. I don't know what's going to happen yet, it's likely I'll have a section. The doctor will come and see me in the morning.

Hope the rest of you are well and hope Jen is having cuddles x

Omg Durham what are the chances!!!
Hopefully they will check you reguarly and baby will head down south again! Stock up on books I'm bored already!!
Naughty May babies!
Let us know what doctor says and when they will section if baby decides not to budge.

Awww durham really what a little tinker. These babies r definitely putting us May mummies through the mill.

Aww Jessie r u really bored? No other girls on the ward to chat too atal? Xx

Oh no Durham, hope you're feeling ok, Cheeky little one you've got there. Hope you get things sorted in terms of childcare and the likes so you can relax, to some extent, and prepare for what ever is to come.

I keep getting paranoid about movement but generally as soon as i think ooh it's been a while she kicks in again. Looking forward to midwife app on friday though to see where she's at etc...

Thinking of the May mummys in hospital already xx

I can't believe it Jessie, I didn't even know about transverse babies before reading your story. I'm bored already too! There's no one else on my bay at the moment and OH won't be able to visit much in the week due to work. I've purchased the hospital wifi so I can use the Internet and watch tv on my iPad. I've got a new book to read and will get OH to bring my crochet in too.

Blake will be looked after between my MIL and our Childminder during the week now, so I guess I should just enjoy the time off from my usual duties :)

I seriously recommend you never ignore reduced movements!

Oh Durham, how unfortunate!!! They were very quick with admitting you, weren't they! Why so soon???

Did they say the baby might still move?

Hope you are keeping your spirits up :) We are all keeping our fingers crossed for you and Jessie :)

I had my MW appointment today. Next time I see her will be at exactly 39 weeks. A bit annoyed as I still haven't got my birth plan sorted - she told me to fill the form in myself, and we'll go through it at my next appointment. Nice one. I might have the baby by then!!! Mheh. I've also piled on 11 kgs since my booking apointment. Not too bothered anyway, but running with extra flab will be tricky :)....

They admitted me straight away because of the risk to baby. It could still move but is unlikely or could just as easily move back again. I live an hour from the hospital, so if my waters did break the baby could be dead by the time I got here :(

Thanks guys :) I'm hoping the doctor will give me a date tomorrow, and I'm hoping it will be closer to 38 weeks than 39

Still can't believe I've been admitted :shakehead:

Bigbee that's rubbish thy you don't see midwife for so long! How can you plan properly!

Thanks everyone for well wishes, yep it's very boring but in just taking one day at a time rather than think about how long I'm actually here for.

Durham I think you're just trying to steal my spotlight :p haha only joking! P I can't believe the same things happening though!

I've got a sad case on the ward right now, there's a very quiet lady been admitted and her thug husband going crazy demanding to see the doctor again and saying he is taking her home. Midwives have explained it's in baby's best interest to stay in but he's having none of it saying he can look after her better at home. The midwives said she can self discharge anytime but would like them to see the doctor first, he doctor just rushed a lady to theatre but he didn't care as doctor Gould be seeing them first. Not a nice guy at all!

Sorry Jessie, believe me I'd sooner be at home lol! I'm glad it's quiet here, I'd hate to be witnessing that :x

Jessie and Durham I hope all goes well for you both.

I have felt uncomfortable all day, baby has not given me a break and kicks are quite hard! Have to keep going otherwise cant sit still. However now feel quite sick and wobbly, I really do hope the next dew weeks hurry along xx

Durham, I see. An hour from the hospital is quite a way! You're in the right place right now.

Jessie, at least you are being entertained by some drama. Some people are fricking clueless, especially idiot ignorant men.

Haha Durham fair enough il let you off.
Flosi a nice hot bubble bath sounds jut the I let for your aches and pains.
And Bigbee you're right it was a little entertaining but I got the impression he was a very "kept" woman who was expected to act a certain way and not speak up.
Wound me up!

OMG i didn't think I could move that fast!!!

Just came upstairs to have a bath to be met by the biggest, fattest, meanest looking spider I have seen in a long time!
Needless to say I got back downstairs quicker Tha I have in a very long time!!!

I knew all this cleaning was going to be a bad idea! X

Can't believe you're in hospital too Durham, goodness all these naughty babies lol!! Chat away we will keep you and jessie both occupied :)

Had mw appt today and baby is head down couldnt believe it!!! Home birth prep on the 5th may cant wait eeeeee!!

I wonder how jen has gotten on and if shes had baby yet after needing a csection. No doubt having baby snuggles :)

Durhamchance on no, can't believe that has happened to you too. Hope you're ok. I'd hate to stay in hospital so long, but as you say safest for baby.

Jessiecat hope yours ok too.

Bigbee I wanted to speak to midwife about birthing plan at my appointment on Wednesday but she said she didn't have time, I feel like you, that I may give birth before I even get to discuss it!!

Flosi that did make me smile about you moving so fast away from the spider :-)

These May babies do seem to be naughty don't they.

Hope everyone's ok and has a good night's sleep tonight xx
