***** May 2015 Mummies to be *****

Willow burn-not everyone has them. You get it done if you have a Bmi over 35 or have family history.

Here it's if you're BMI is over 30, which mine is. I've got mine booked for two weeks time. Not looking forward to it!

I was referred for a GTT because my dad is diabetic. Not everyone has to have one.

This morning was awful. They were running late, it was hard to get my first lot of bloods, then the sugar drink I had to have made me feel like I was going to throw up. 2 hours later they tried 5 times to get blood from my arm, in the end they had to put a thing in my hand to get blood out. So I'm bruised and tired after 4 hours at the hospital.

Not eating/drinking is the easiest part. I just sat and read my book.

Feels like one thing after another this week. I'm pretty down. Hopefully I'll bounce back

Tri hopping! Oh no Orion sounds a bit like me getting blood at mine she said it was because i hadnt drank enough water to made me drink a glass! I had awful bruising!

I only had to have one not for any of the routine tests but because i had sugar in my urine at my 16 week check. Thankfully i was all clear :)

Oh dear, all these GTT horror stories are making me worried and this isn't my first time

Last time was fine, I had blood taken from one arm, drank the lucozade, waited two hours and had the second blood test from my other arm. My biggest worry is that they'll use the same arm for both bloods- that will hurt :(

No Durham. Several needles in each arm, then one in the back of a hand hurts! You'll be fine I'm sure.

DurhamChance: my midwife managed to go in the same hole for both blood tests! I was seriously impressed as it hardly hurt at all xx

Ah ok- I think I may actually have asked about it before now you mention it. Baby brains getting worse :( or maybe its just that baby panic has set in!!

The drink I had today tasted of lime cordial and water. Wasn't too bad and knocked it back as quick as I could.

Midwife took bloods for each arm left first and right after. - she was a butcher doing it too! Worse part for me was sitting in hard chair for two hours and not being able to move around all three of us were told we couldn't go for a little stroll what so ever. Spd was unbearable at times.

I had it done as I have pcos, bmi over 30 and Father is diabetic.

F.

Still feeling down. Sore and bruised. Glad my general check up went well yesterday but everything else is a pain.

The hospital midwives wouldnt do my whooping cough or anti-d injections like my regular midwife said they would because it was 1 day before 28 weeks! So I've had to make a doctors appointment for Thursday.

Called this morning as directed to get my GTT results, and nobody can find them. They're going to call me back!

Feels like I'm chasing everything that the midwives should just be organising.

Hello everyone.

Hope you are all ok, I'll be joining you in tri 3 soon, can't believe how quickly it's going!!

xx

Not long now blue eyes! Feel like this is really flying now! My midwife said yesterday our little one is head down and seems to be facing the right way too but they move all the time so it doesn't matter where he is at the moment. I wish he would stay exactly where he is personally!!! I'm really struggling with pelvic floor exercises- I just can't remember them and I eventually see something about them and realise I haven't done them for days :( I'm going to end up totally incontinent at this rate :( !!!

Don't worry Willowburn, I never did them last time and I've never wee'd myself after having Blake!

I'm sure at one point there was a thread on the forum where one member reminded everyone to do their pelvic floor exercises lol!

I was fine after my son, but I'm a bit concious this is my second and maybe i should haha

Viewed a house today that we have gone for :) just waiting for the agent to call us back tomorrow. Garden on the smaller side but the house is amazing. Fingers crossed for the call tomorrow!

Ah lovely larly- hope it goes to plan! Durham I'm so pleased you haven't had any weeing episodes! I hope for the same!!!

I've arrived, ladies.
It's getting more real now and the panic is setting in. EEEEK.

Hope everyone is doing great :)
