***** May 2015 Mummies to be *****

Bigbee, I was put on a trace within ten mins of arriving at the assessment unit and they kept it on for 30 mins. I was at the hospital for an hour and a half altogether. Although I still get a lot of movements, I've definitely noticed a change in them lately, I don't get the pokes and kicks anymore, more a rolling/swishy feeling.

Orion, just a thought, if you still want to know the sex of the baby you could ask them at your growth scan. When the sonographer was measuring baby's thigh bone I asked her if she was still a girl and she happily checked for me.

Another random question I thought of this morning, how long after birth does baby do their first wee or poo? Do they put a nappy on baby for skin to skin, or do you really not care at that point?

Morning ladies, so far today has started much better. I've been paid the rest of my wages and ive paid my bills and spoken to nursery to sort out next weeks hours and paying them in a couple of installments to catch up, finallyfeel like im getting back on track!

That's a good thought mayflower, hopefully if you decide you want to find outbaby will be cooperative this time orion!
Mayflower when my son was born I held him for around 10 mins the the towel and blanket and then passed him to my oh so I could deliver placenta and then get something to eat and drink and he pooped all over my oh straightaway ( my oh didn't care at all and just took his jacket off and continued to cuddle him) I think it depends on baby. After my oh held him and the midwife did he checks ie weight etc as she didn't do it for a couple of hours so we could hold and cuddle him we then got him dressed and puthim in a nappy and vest and sleep suit, but if im honest I didn't really think about it and sort of went with the flow hun.

Bigbee I always try food first as my one baby is quiet in comparison to the other and don't feel her as often but food always gets her kicking, maybe trya fizzy drink if food doesn't get them to budge but if still worried definitely call to be monitored even if to only put your mind at rest hun. Xxx

It's a good idea...but now I'm not sure I want to know having got used to the idea of a surprise :) daft!

Morning ladies

Mayflower- I'm sure when Blake was born (emergency c section) they put him in a nappy pretty much straight after they weighed him, but it wasn't until we were in recovery that they suggested dressing him. Poor OH had to do it too as I was unable to move- he was terrified and the MW helped him in the end lol.

Has baby started moving yet Bigbee? The little monkey is probably just having a rest x

I'm so tired! I went upstairs just before 9pm last night and really struggled to get up with Blake this morning. If he wasn't here I swear I would go and get back in bed. Instead we're popping to the shop to get me some new pyjamas and a dressing gown. There's no way I will be wearing my current threadbare nightwear in a public ward!

Have a lovely day everyone x

Hi,

Hope everyone's ok, quite a few posts to catch up on.

Bigbee, when I phoned re no movement, they said come straight down to the antenatal assessment unit. I did and waited about 10 mins before they called me through. Didn't have a scan, they just felt my bump and then listened to baby's heartbeat for 10 mins and checked the speed didn't decrease. Try a very very cold glass of water, see if that gets baby wriggling.

30 weeks today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG I can't believe it!! It's going so quickly. Would like the tail end of this chest infection to go, so I can enjoy the last 10 weeks of pregnancy :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) xx

Hey ladies.

I've had a cold drink, and had food. I might have a can of coke and sit quietly for a while. My chair reclines quite far so I'll be able to lean back. Laying down usually helps.

Just been told that my partner's company will be starting redundancy process next week. He is not staff, so I am worried he'll lose his job within a couple of weeks. On the verge of tears. All our money is tied up!!!! Unbelievable. Wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have 8 weeks of work left. Shit.

Blueeyes, feels good, doesn't it? Haha only ten week until due date. Yay!!!

Bigbee put the cold drink onto your bump it should get baby moving! :)

Mayflower i had skin to skin for about 40 mins(he bf etc) with my son and he didnt we or poop till later on but i wouldn't have cared anyways as the moment was so lovely to move him :) I think it all depends on when they where born and how(as in if late or a shock csection etc they may poo earlier) my son was early so maybe that's why?!

Hope everyone is feeling okay, a few dresses just fell into my basket this morning for LO whoops haha! Im 29 weeks today yay for those who are 30, that seems such a big milestone doesnt it?!

Button, I'm going to try that. Thanks :)

30 weeks is a huge milestone. So daunting though!!!!

I feel so un prepared haha we haven't even got her pram ordered yet! Keep thinking I've got ages when I really don't, eeep!

It's the last stretch! Im also 29 weeks today, totally forgot about it though with everything that ive done this morning. My bump has dripped again but ive gained new stretch marks at the top?! Which is confusing had more pelvic pressure this morning but not sure if that's because it's dropped. Im not sure I'll make it to 36 weeks the way it's feeling though it's really heavy and tight today feels like my skin is going to burst which baby a is not helping with as she keeps stretching her leg so either her knee or foot is making it quite painful but as long as she's comfy right? Baby b is also starting to move a lot more again so have a feeling she's moved as she did have her legs right up by her face so maybe she's moved to a more comfortable position too where she's can kick her little legs freely! I've just cut my little boys hair as it was such a mop. I dress doing it as he wants it still for me but he was quite good today, didn't manage to thin it out as much as usual as he was getting bored so will try again later I think.

Hope baby gets a wriggle on soom bigbee xxx

Bigbee it's worry about Oh work isn't. We are living on my salary following OH job being cut to 10 hours, he's applying for jobs, but no luck yet. I get 2 months paid maternity but then after that statutory maternity isn't enough to cover even the mortgage let alone anything else. I just keep hoping something comes up, as I don't want to get stressed and effect the baby. Hope your OH is ok, or something new comes up for him very quickly.

Naughty Buttonbear, those dresses just jumped into your basket did they :-) :-)

Caseysmummy its going so quickly isn't it, and think you'll be the first May mummy with having twins :-)

xx

All by themselves, couldn't believe it at the checkout hahaha ;)

Bigbee hope you get some good strong pokes and prods soon. trying to plan thjnk financial is a nightmare, especially if jobs are at risk. OH's company made resundencies last year but luckily he wasn't effected so just hoping they don't go through the same again any time soon!

Nursery furniture being delivered today, scaring me that I've got too much stuff now, only the big stuff not much in the way of clothes or anything like that.

Sorry you're having so many horrible problems Bigbee, I do hope you come through this ok.

I feel quite satisfied this morning, I have three new pairs of pyjamas and a new pair of slippers for just £28  God bless staff discount!

Thanks ladies.

Just came back from the hospital. They hooked me up to a tracer for an hour. Baby is fine. Loads of movement, although I only felt (and saw) massive kicks.

MW reckons the baby is now head down. Bonus!

Glad baby is ok Bigbee, and good news for being head down!

Yes! I'm pleased. Hope baba stays in that position now.

She also measured me. I am now a 1 cm behind. Was measuring 2 cm ahead two weeks ago. I know it's all relative, as varies between how different people do it... So I'm not paying any attention. She said the measurement was perfect. Hmmmm.
