***** May 2015 Mummies to be *****

Cannot.breathe.today!! Feel panicky about it even though i know im breathimg but wow Im feeling so unsettled and dizzy :(

Buttonbear. Can you lie on your side? Take deep slow breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth. Try not to panic hun.

If you can't lie down for a relax, try sitting with your knees open, elbows on knees, and lean forwards a little. You should feel your back stretch and it gives your lungs a bit extra room.

I managed to lie down which has helped also a bit on all fours seemed to shift her down a fraction. Boy that was not pleasant at all!!

Afternoon ladies. I've been up since 3.30 am was having pain on and off in my back and then had lots of braxton hicks til about 7 when I got in the bath, but thankfully it eased off as I was about to ring the maternity unit to go and get checked, it's also my little boys 4th birthday today, so glad im not spending it in hospital. The funny thing is it was a similar night to one I had 4 years ago except the pain was more intense and about 4 minutes apart and it was actual labour ( think my body just wanted to remind me) but didn't sleep much then either. I plan to go back to bed once my oh is home so he can spend some time with our little boy playing with some presents and what not, still not sorted my pay yet, I rang this morning and she was waiting to hear off my manager so going to ring her in a min and see if she can sort it as it's worrying me as im well in my overdraft and bills are unpaid although I have rang up the companies and explained and said as soon as it's sorted I will pay them they same day. But it's really stressing me out so im not sure if that's what's contributing to these false pains im getting!

Hope your feeling better button xxx

Bet you're shattered Casey, you'll be ready for that lie down. Happy birthday to your little boy, hope you all have a good day and im glad the pains have stopped.

So I just had a letter to say im aneamic, how many of you are as well? I'm going to try and diet control it first before the tablets as Im already suffering a bit with constipation (sorry) and piles (sorry again) so I don't want to make that worse.

Hope you're feeling better now button

Caseysmummy you must be so tired, hope you get some sleep later and happy birthday to your son.

Jessiecate when I was suffering i ate half a tin of prunes in juice daily and used anusol cream (sorry for the too much info, but it really helped.

I've been to the doctors this morning, as although I'm not as bad as the tail end of last week I'm still coughing and sinuses are still bad. I have been prescribed Amoxicillin which the doctor assured me is ok to take during pregnancy, has anyone else taken antibiotics during pregnancy? I don't want to cause baby any harm, but want to get rid of this now, so short of breath with this chesty cough xx

I've taken antibiotics for a water infection although it wasn't amoxicillin but im sure if gp says it's safe it is hun and will help you in the long run so as you don't suffer.

im very tired but only an hour til oh is home so im on the sofa with my duvet whilst watching my little boy play which he's more than happy to do with his new play doh lol.

I feel for you jessie, if your struggling with the piles your dr can prescribe some stronger creams, I have one that has a small amount of hydrocortisone which helps shrink them and relieve pain also sounds daft but sitting on a rubber ring when they're feeling really bad and maybe tmi but it does help starring with a warm compress on them for 10-20 mins then something such as frozen peas on them for 20 mins relieves swelling and pain and baths. I suffered really badly early on with them early on and these are things the gp advised me to do. I was on iron tablets in my last pregnancy and didn't find they made me anymore constipated hun but I would defo try to up it in your diet first hun.

Hope your both feeling better soon xxx

Happy birthday to your little man caseysmummy!!

Feeling better now thanks ladies xx

Jessiecat the tablets make you so constipated its unreal i had to get something from the Dr to help!!

Blueyes I had antibiotics in first trimester(for infected wisdom tooth) I was wary too but they are okay in pregnancy to have.

Blueeyes, I've just finished a course of amoxicillin for a UTI.

Thanks for the reassurance re antibiotics, I'll collect my prescription on the way home from work xx

Off to my first antenatal class in a while. I'm a bit nervous although Im not sure why.

So for baby's bag I've packed:

5x short sleeve vests
5x sleepsuits with built in scratch mits
2x hats
1x cardigan
A cuddly toy
A blanket
1x pack of 23 newborn nappies
A packet of wipes AND a pack of cotton wool
Changing mat (using my changing bag so it was in there anyway)

Hoping to breast feed but my hospital provides formula if it doesn't work out. Undecided about packing dummies, and how would I sterilise them in hospital anyway?!

Is there anything I've overlooked?! Just need to sort my bag now.

Sounds like you've got things covered! I'd have not thought to take that amount of of clothes but I guess you just never know and with the clothes being small you can fit a fair few in!

Our snuzpod has just arrived!!! I wasn't expecting it until the end of March!! So total surprised and was already in my dressing gown which was a treat for te delivery guy haha! With no OH still at the min it's just going to sit downstairs but my heart skiped a beat when I saw what it was!!! I said to OH before he went away that it's this that makes it seem more real as that'll be on our room and what she's sleeping in!!!

Sounds good mayflower :) re dummies and sterilising you can get the capsule travel things to sterilise dummies while out the house Ive seen them on an advert recently?!

Hope the class goes well Orion.

The class was really good. Nice to have a couple of hours where me and hubby were focusing totally on baby.

Although I didn't realise I should be doing 50 pelvic floor exercises a day! Thought it was just 10.

Glad the class went well, what sort of things did they go over? I've never been to any.

The first session was about pregnancy. So went through things like the importance of general exercise and pelvic floor exercises. As well as going through some things to look out for like monitoring baby's movements and some common medical issues.

I didn't get lots of new info but still nice to be able to hear others experiences and ask the midwife some questions. All very friendly, funny and supportive.

Next week is about labour so that'll have lots of info I need as I know nothing.

Ahh sounds nice though and a place to as you say focus on baby and I guess meet people too :)

LO has hiccups again, seems to have them for a long time too bless her, not sure how much is normal?

Jessie(or anyone) do you know if being tranverse limits movements for Los? She hasn't been as active more the odd big movement then rest etc?
